Spacebar not working as quick Pan / Hand tool
Spacebar has stopped working as hand tool as of 2018 update.

The idea of other applications hijacking the spacebar is good one.
Just for an added data point, it happens to me and I never have Chrome or Spotify running so if is a hijack problem it isn't isolated to those apps.

Looks like this might be an issue with having Spotify running at the same time as Ai. Spotify uses the spacebar to pause/unpause songs and can sometimes 'take over' the use of the spacebar in other apps.
I suggest trying a restart of Spotify.

This just happened to me. The shortcut was working fine yesterday but stopped today. I've tried fixing the issue with renaming files and removing shortcuts that use the spacebar on my Mac.

Hi,
All my strokes and fills suddenly disappear when I use the quick hand tool. If I hover over them I can see the lines but i can't select a stroke or colour for them anymore. Also, if I try to move around with the quick hand tool I'm getting a lagscreen error. Does anyone know how to fix this? -

Illustrator shortcut 'Spacebar to use hand tool' not working when I launch Chrome on macbook pro Catalina 10.15.7, works before launching, applies to Photoshop and Indesign.

Having issues with the spacebar hand tool shortcut. This is happening on macOS Catalina, 16" MacBook Pro. For anyone having the same issue, the quickest workaround so far is restarting the computer. Please post any quicker workarounds if they exist until this bug is fixed.
