Unable to export Artboards as SVG
The AI does export to SVG. I have used this constantly in the previous version, but the new version will not save the image in SVG format using the Export for Screens option.
We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.
Please refer to our knowledge base FAQ – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1844590 if you face difficulty in update.
Or get in touch with us at any of the other support channels – https://helpx.adobe.com/support.html
Warm Regards,

None of the workarounds are working for me. Mac, High Sierra, all latest updates.

Tried workarounds suggested, and it works for some time, but returns.
But one interesting discover:
After exporting a svg, and seeing that the svg is not created.
If I then choose "Reset Layout" the svg magicaly gets created, even if its minutes since the export dialog was closed. So the export is somewhat qued, but not executed before I reset the layout (using the default Layout layout).
I can add that I'm using multiple screens an a Mac (OS X 10.11.6).

Same Issue here after upgrading to CC 2018 (Mac). Export as SVG generates no output. Tried removing preferences without any success. This is a blocker, please fix asap.

The suggested work around don't work for me. I've tried a few work arounds, deleted old prefs and files. Still no joy.

CTRL-O does not work on Win10 to open a file.
And when is the non-workaround solution landing for this one? Not 10 days ago, an update was pushed out to fix PNGs that wouldn't export (among other things).
How can Adobe release with such obvious bugs? Really disappointing. Are customers anything but beta testers?

Reseting Illustrator preferences by pressing and holding Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (macOS) as you start Illustrator seems to solve the problem.
At least so far.

Workaround doesn't work at all. Launch the older version of Illustrator and do it from that. What a pain. Adobe software not ready for release - imagine such a thing? <smh>

1. Quit illustrator
2. Delete all old (pre 2018) illustrator files and folders from library > Preferences
3. Delete all old illustrator files and folders from library > Application support > Adobe
4. Launch illustrator 2018 -

Downgrade to 2017, problem solved.
How much are we now paying a month to beta test this software for every release? -

Upgraded to latest 2018 version but nothing changed. Downgraded to 2017 version - and everything works like a charm (I even got rid of the insufficient memory error).
There's your workaround Ashutosh!

22.0.1 (64-bit) illustrator cc version
opening an .ai file going to file and 'export as' to svg fails. the svg options window comes up as it should, but when clicking ok nothing happens - no file is saved.
happens after the 2018 update - on all files i have tried. -
