Illustrator 2019 won't quit (thinks a window is open) & all the menus are in disabled state.
Hello,
I updated to Illustrator 2019 today, and I have gone to close it down but the option is greyed out in the file menu.
If I click anywhere it makes the error noise as if I have got an open window.
This seems to be a glitch with the latest software release.
Thanks
 Fran

I am glad to update that this issue was fixed in 23.1 release.
Thank you for all the feedback.

commentedSame issue. All menu items are greyed out and can't use shortcuts. I have to force quit and lose my artwork. Running iMac OS 10.14.6, 32 GB DDR3 with over a terabyte of available hard drive space. 27-inch iMac at 2560 x 1440. Never had any problem until today. It did seem to start after I clicked on the graphic styles panel which I had docked. Had a file open, clicked on it, and that was the last thing I was able to do.

commentedI closed the graphic styles panel and created a new workspace. This seems to have stopped the issue of all menus being grayed out (disabled) like there is an open dialog box. But it's only been a few days. This also seems to be related to a message that pops up sometimes "There is not enough memory to process the appearance of an object". Is this the dialog box that is disabling all my menus but I can't see it?

commentedI have this same issue, upon the first launch of Illustrator 2019 all menus are grayed out (disabled) like there is an open dialog box or something. I have to force quit to get Illustrator to quit. On the second launch, it usually works okay. I am running Mac OS 10.14.5.

commentedI was able to overcome the problem. First, I uninstalled it via the Creative Cloud app. When I went to re-install it, it showed it was still installed! So I uninstalled it again. Because I had Illus 18 still installed, it showed I could "update" it, which I did. Upon launching the updated v19 it did not have the grayed out menus. However, I did not change my workspace but I'm not going to, because it's not necessary. I hope this helps somebody.

Jesse Barney commented I just hit an accidental hotkey that did the same thing. I don't know what I turned on, when I am in the menus on the top of the screen the cursor is automatically in "search" in the help menu.

commentedObviously, it doesn't appear to be a high priority bug.
