Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the requested operation.
I applied a pattern to a stroke by accident and received this error. I'm using v25.0.1 on a PC with 16 gb RAM and a dedicated graphics card.

AI can not be used - 23.0.1. Unbearably slow, does not respond, tools are stuck - unusable! I have experienced a similar "update" throughout my career - very bad.

do we leave the beta version in place and just update 23.0.1 over it? thanks.

Not for nothing, but I think I might wait to update to 23.0.1 until I hear how it goes for others. Hope that's not a bad thing, I just can't risk having it affect work again. 😬

The newest patch is a fix for the can't finishing previewing or enough RAM error but i have noticed that the actions that i created keep breaking. They are simple actions no more than 3 steps. They work for a short time then they come up with an error that reads "Error-PARM can't complete the action"

Thank you Ashutosh (and team) for addressing this quickly and for providing a solution before official release.

had this probably a hundred times this week, this crash then doesnt create the save data (set to 2 mins) and when you reopen it is in outline mode (the preview freaks out then goes to outline you then have a few seconds to save before it crashes or just needs restarting

I just saw that there is a person who has the same bug as me on this forum "can not finish previewing". I will download version 23.01.
May I say that I have been working with Adobe since the first day of the company!
I must say that I am SO disappointed in this company now, we could not imagine 25 years ago that Adobe pushes problematic software (this is the case of many versions in the near past).
In my opinion, I should not be frustrated with software for which I paid that is not ready, or spend my time helping the company debug its software, the software must be ready and tested before take it out, point at the line.

seems to be a major bug in previewing

Since the Mojave update and Illustrator update the program is much more stable. Still balks a little bit with type, but not a single crash or RAM Error.

The new update (including the hotfix version) hasn't fixed this completely. Although it doesn't occur anywhere near as often as the original, it is still an on-going issue.

Mine is doing the same thing. I get the "Can't finish previewing" pop up every day.

Operating System: HP EliteDesk 800 G3 TWR
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GBIllustrator Version: CC 23.0 (64-bit)
Twice today my illustrator has crashed with a 'cannot preview image' dialogue box and showing a boxy black and white preview of my file on the screen. After the programme crashed both times I re-started Illustrator and there was no 'drawing recovery' dialogue box and none of the files I had open today are showing in my 'Last Opened' files.
It seems like all memory of me working on these files has been wiped after the crash.

I download the new 2019 CC update for Illustrator recently. The other day it shut down illustrator in the middle of my work, and popped up a message saying "...not enough RAM...". Never happened before the update. The other thing that happens that everyone else seems to have is the "Can't finish previewing" pop up. That took me out of illustrator in the middle of my work, too. Please fix this.

@Daylee Hopson: the problem is already fixed by Adobe. Please read the post by admin Ashutosh Chaturvedi where he shares a link to download a 23.0.1 hot fix

It would be cool if AI 2019 was mostly stable, like 2018
