Click-drag fails... snaps back
Click-drag, click-opt (copy) drag, click-shift (constrained) drag fails... snaps back.
Click on object to drag it either with or without option and/or shift and sometimes it will fail and snap back to its original position.
Mac mini M1
MacOS 12.2.1 Monterey
Apple Magic Mouse (no Wacom or other third party drivers)
Same behavior on two identical machines.
Works fine with v26.0.3.

Same exact behavior over here as well.

I'm experiencing the same exact thing. It also seems like maybe illustrator is treating any drag/move as if ALT is also being held; I'm seeing the little green "+" icon popup when this issue occurs.
Also this glitch seems particularly crazy when dragging/scaling artboards.

I have an iMac and use the magic mouse. Since the most recent update to illustrator, 75% of the time when I drag an object to move it, it returns to where it previously was. This seems to happen if I move my finger on top of the mouse at all when dragging, but it also happens when I make all effort to keep my fingers still and just move the mouse.
Sometimes the object just springs back to its original location but sometimes the green plus sign appears that signifies you're adding an object to a new page, or dragging an external object onto illustrator. This has the same effect in that it just springs back to the original location.
One final note is that when this happens, illustrator counts it as an action, where in the edit dropdown, it allows "Undo Move" but nothing changes

Can't Move Object in Illustrator CC2021 Using Mouse on Windows 10
I dont have Photoshop, this happened after yesterday's update to CC with the latest version -
Delia commented
Since starting Illustrator today I can't move any selected items with my mouse. When trying to move objects, Windows 10 makes a problem sound and nothing happens. I can move using arrows but it is incredibly frustrating and time consuming. I am having the same problem when trying to move artboards, but this time there is no PC sound and the artboard moves 50% of the time, by a few px. Each time I try to move something, it flickers. I hadn't made any changes or selected any new tool since the last time I used AI and things worked smoothly. I can't find any fix online, as the only forum mentioning this fixed the problem by closing Ps. I have no other Adobe apps open and I closed and launched AI multiple times now to no avail. I really need help fixing this as I rely on Illustrator to work.

I am preparing a print data with many pdf vectors and normal vectors in it. At random times, after uploading some pdfs and working on the file, i happen to can't move anything. I click on it and move with arrows on the keyboard but with mouse it won't move. I have to save the work and restart the AI.
Any fix on this? -

I am unable to move any object whether it is text or a shape by clicking and dragging it. I can move it by selecting coordinates, using arrow keys and the align buttons. I do not have outlines on. I have tried restarting multiple times.

Currently using Illustrator v24.3
Issue is the selection tools won't move objects by clicking and dragging. They can still:
- Highlight and select objects
- Selected objects can be moved by clicking their center point
- Selected objects WILL move when using the arrow keys
- The bounding box can be scaled and rotated without issue
- Individual anchors CAN be moved by the Direct Selection Tool
- Multiple selected anchors CANNOT.Object Selection by Path Only is not turned on, and I've hit the escape key a bunch to be sure that some hidden prompt isn't interfering with anything.
The only solution I've found is to quit out of the program and restart it.

Working Illustrator for 3hrs. Suddenly can't move anything. Can only select objects. No windows open. No warning.
Bug happened across 4 tabs. Was still present after restarting Illustrator. Had to restart Macbook in order to fix.
Really getting tired of the 'futuristic CC'. So many bugs. So unreliable.

I consistently get a bug with the 2 newest updates where objects in illustrator stop being moveable, I can scale but I can't move anything around. I fix it by saving and closing all projects open and restarting Illustrator. This happens maybe once a day. Im on newest Mac OS and windows 10.

I'm using an iMac with High Sierra, Illustrator version 24.2.3
When I paste or draw an object Illustrator intermittently doesn't allow me to move the item. I can select it and can see the bounding box and anchor points, but can't move it. I've tried selecting different parts of the object but still can't move it.
The solution I have found it to restart Illustrator.

this is the most obnoxious and persistent bug in illustrator by far. please fix this. i end up doing things over and over and over again because of this. i work in really precise drawings and when moving a handle, anchor or line carefully to to the precise location, it just goes back.
i can't stress enough how frustrating this long running bug is.
