1. Exported ai files cannot be saved again

   Problem Description:
   When exporting an ai file via script or action, the exported ai file cannot be [Save], [Save As], or [Save a Copy].

   • Specify ILLUSTRATOR11 or lower for compatibility and true for saveMultipleArtboards.
   • This problem does not occur when ILLUSTRATOR12 or higher is specified or saveMultipleArtboards is false.
   • The version of the original ai file is not relevant to the operation.
   • It happens in both ExtendScript and AppleScript.

   Environment:
   • macOS 10.14.6
   • Illustrator CS6(16.2.1)-2021(25.2.3)

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Open an appropriate ai file and execute the script in the [Code to execute] section.
   2. Open the exported ai file in Illustrator, edit it in some way, and save it.

   Actual Result:
   Illustrator will not be able to save the document and nothing will happen. The file name displayed in the window is still marked with *. When I close the document, it asks me if I want to save it, but I cannot save it.

   Expected Result:
   The document will be saved.

   Any Workarounds:
   • Save the document manually, without going through any scripts or actions.

2. Illustrator CC 2020 Saving Unknown Error

   Illustrator won't let me save my files. I've tried to open another new file to save my files and the same error has occurred unless I have the "Create PDF Compatible File" option turned off. I have never encountered this before and this is my first time encountering this problem.

3. Add title in svg export

   I would like a way to add a title to exported SVGs.

   You should be able to set this at the artboard level, not just at the document level.

   This would greatly improve the accessibility of exported SVGs and simplify workflows.

4. Bad image quality on Export Asset

   If I use Export Asset, fine details in patterns get smeared and destroyed in the resulting bitmap (png). This happens regardless of whether I scale the object up, or export at super high resolution.

   If I use normal Export, the detail is as expected. In fact, this happens even at very low resolutions where you naturally expect to lose detail. Regardless, Illustrator does attempt to preserve brightness and detail as best as possible given the resolution when choosing normal Export. But with Export Asset, the behavior is totally different and, honestly, unusable in most cases.

   Depuis la version 25.1 perte d'une fonctionnalité qui était très pratique : l'arborescence lors de l'import de fichiers DXF.
   Lors de l'import de fichiers DXF à partir d'un logiciel CAD (Solid Edge), chaque pièce de l'assemblage était reconnue par Illustrator (1 pièce = 1 calque).
   Ce n'est plus le cas depuis les dernières mise à jour (dernière mise à jour qui fonctionne : 25.0.1)

6. All PNG's exported are blurry

   Every time I export a file to PNG, it comes out blurry. It also appears blurry when I turn on the pixel preview. I have never experienced this problem until I recently updated my version of Illustrator. Exporting to PDF does not cause an issue.

   I am using Windows 10 Pro version 19042.746, with Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10500T CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz, Installed ram: 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable), 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

   Illustrator version 25.1

7. New DXF importer makes closed filled shapes come as solid facets, groups are lost

   I import a DXF block filled by a solid Hatch.

   Previously (stillworking in Ai2019) the shape comes as a filled closed path

   now it opens as tons of single filled triangles

8. Package in Illustrator 2021 not copying fonts - Windows 10

   The package functionnality in Illustrator 2021 does not copy the fonts to the package folder. The report doesn't display any error.
   The same job was packaged on Mac and worked fine.

9. Cannot Export Print Quality PNG from Illustrator 2021 Mac OS Catalina

   Every time I try to export my large print quality files from Illustrator as .png, I get an error message. The Operation Cannot Complete Because of an Unknown Error [!now] I am trying to maintain the 300dpi quality because this is how my printer accepts files. (As .png.) My Illustrator file is 10000 x 10000 pixels at 300 dpi. I have tried it as 150 dpi and all of the export settings and always get the error message. I see on your forums that this has been going on for many years and that I'm not the only designer to experience this issue. Can you please help?

10. AI files opening as old versions

    Illustrator is intermittently not properly saving my files and is opening old versions of the AI file.

    This is my workflow:

    Create design and save AI file. Save PDF file and send to client. Receive amends, open AI file and amend + save. Save PDF file and send to client.

    Repeat until the design is approved.

    At this point I open the AI file and prepare the print files for production.

    However, the AI file is opening as an older version and does not have the latest amends saved. This is costing us £100s in incorrectly manufactured items.

11. Unknown error when exporting to jpeg or PNG

    I am trying to export my work to a Jpeg or PNG to work on photoshop but i keep on getting and unknown error. Please help I need this fix so i can complete my work. this is URGENT!!

12. Crashing when trying to save file

    Sometimes when I'm trying to save my progress on a file, it crashes and doesn't create a recovered file or anything. I've lost a lot of work.

13. SVGs opened in Illustrator don't include blend modes

    I created an SVG in Illustrator that has some layers using the blend mode "overlay". I export out the SVG and it looks perfect. If I open that SVG in Illustrator it turns the blend modes into "normal" instead of "overlay".

16. Save as .ai can be interrupted by another save

    If you are working on a new document, or opened an EPS or PDF, hit save as .ai and it does the background save, if you dont wait or dont realize it isnt finished, and try to save as PDF by way of example, the first save will not complete (ever) and this may result in a loss of data. Very reproducible

17. Crash in exporting PDF

    Illustrator 24.3 64bits on Windows 10

    The software crash when exporting PDF as a Export for Screens (mutliple format export)

    All the formats except PDF are exported on the Outpout folder, but when generating PDF, it's crash randomly (1 success for 5 crashes)

18. Illustrator not deleting .tmp files after upgrades to Catalina

    We've recently started upgrading our users to Catalina, and since then multiple people have reported Illustrator is creating .tmp files that can't be deleted. We've turned off Save in Background, Export in Background, optimize saving for slow networks, and Saving Cloud documents. The issue seems to be intermittent, we haven't been able to find a pattern.

    When it makes these files, they can't be deleted in Finder.

19. Asset export password bug 24.2.3

    Illustrator info: 24.2.3 (64bit)

    System info:
    Windows 10

    Steps:
    If I export artboards to pdf using the asset export window - each file will be password protected without me specifying it.

    This only happens if the last pdf I saved manualy (using save as) was password protected. Asset export will use the same password that I entered for this file.

    This would be a nice feature if it was an option you could select or de select, but not when it happens without informing me.

    The only workaround I know of, is to save a dummy pdf with the correct settings before using the asset export, needles to say this is a damper on workflow efficency.

    The presets used does not have password protection enabled. I am reasonably sure you can't put passwords in the presets actually. I tried now, and the password protection option was not enabled when I applied the preset.
