When reporting a bug, please provide a detailed description with the following:
- Details of your operating system
- The version of Adobe Illustrator (desktop)
- The steps you were taking when you experienced the issues
- Your expected result and the actual result
- Upload your Illustrator file or a video (screen recording or gif, this helps us most to reproduce the issue and resolve it)

Changing size in export doesn't change size
When exporting files via Save As, if I change the size, it doesn't update the actual export size until I do something else, like toggle the clip to artboard on and off or change from optimize for Art to for type. This has been a persistent error across versions of Illustrator and MacOS for some time.
Once you hit tab to leave that portion of the export dialogue, it should update without any additional steps.

Illustrator CC 2018 for Mac Hangs up When Reading an EPS File
Illustrator CC 2018 for Mac hangs up when I attempt to read the attached EPS file. I have been using Illustrator to read this type of EPS file for years with no difficulties. I have to force-quit Illustrator to continue. I attach a sample file that hangs up Illustrator on my system. Just in case you need to know, my system has all updates installed.

Unable to create bitmaps in photoshop CC 2018. They are corrupted and appear solid black in the preview window. The bitmaps print as solid black when printed from a CC illustrator 2018 file. I always thought that bitmaps were compatible with illustrator.

When importing .psd files just saved they appear as colorful bitmap gibberish
Multiple time and duplicated by co-worker. I will create a .psd file, save then when placed, they appear in Illustrator as "Op Art", a colorful nonsensical bitmap. I have to entirely close out of the program to correct. These files are fine in previews, bridge and in Photoshop/ Also fine once Illustrator regains sobriety.

Illustrator 22.1 doesn't store version information in the metadata
In previous versions of Illustrator I could view which version of Illustrator a file was saved as, and the version that created it, in 'Get info' in the Mac finder. For example: 'Version: Saved As v.15 Created by v.22.0.1'. This info now isn't saved with the file as shown on the attached screenshots. For us this was a very useful for checking what version a file had been saved for.

When Exporting .ai to .png getting white lines in all designs.
Have tried every method including saving as tiff,jpg and pdf. lines remain.This is not one design but several.Ruined 2 months of work.Have been doing these for long time and using CS6 for over two years and now suddenly this.Ideas? of a workaround?

SVG clipboard export adds an extra non-printable character in the end, breaking import.
When artwork is copied to the clipboard as SVG code,
a non-printable character is added in the end of the string.When saved to a file, doesn't import correctly in Illustrator and throws out an error when viewed in Preview in OSX

resaving bug
When Illustrator was updated to CC2018, I began having a recurring (and very annoying) issue: whenever I try to resave an open file, Illustrator crashes. Sometimes it will also crash if I do too many other actions in a row, though I can't say for sure what triggers that (if it is something consistent). I'm running it on a 2017 iMac with High Sierra. I report this every time it happens.

Illustrator can't read it's own files properly
Looses bitmap figure embedded in .ai file, reports the bitmap is missing when opening. While other software opens the file just right. Including Adobe Acrobat, Gmail preview, apple finder preview and Affinity Designer.
I made a file using Adobe illustrator, this file contains two jpg images. When I save the file and open it using illustrator on two different computers, a dialoge appears complaining the jpgs are missing and offer to replace them.
Oddly other software packages read the same file just fine, INCLUDING the allegedly missing jpg images, and in good quality.I can provide the file if you…

Unembed flattened Link, needs warning that it will save over layered file.
You need to warn/remind users that the flattened link (that they chose to do when they first embedded their link), if they then save their "unembed" file back to the original link location of the original layered source file, they will be saving a flat version over the top.

Linked images are embed after exported as assets

Hi All,
images linked in a document when exported as assets are automatically embedded. That means that a document increase its weight suddenly making it unusable and extremely weight.
Please fix this behavior, images linked must continue to be linked.

Export as PNG not working in iOS
V 22.0.1 on iOS thru Creative Cloud will no longer let me Export As PNG or JPG. I've checked for updates and there are none. I've tried a restart on my MacBook Pro and the Creative Cloud. I can't figure out what is wrong. I really need to be able to do this.

When I try to save a file, I am told my file is a "read only" copy
I use Illustrator version 20.0.0 (2015.3)
I have not experienced this problem until very recently.
After I have saved a file, when I make changes to it that I want to save, I am told I cannot, as it is a read-only copy.
I have already checked the properties of my file, and it is NOT "read-only."

Illustrator 5 crashes everytime i try saving a file

Files Breaking on Save after creating Saved Swatch Library
Illustrator v22.0.1: We use art tiles to create repeat prints for textile printing. There is a bug that cause my original .eps files to become garbled after I have used that .eps file to create a saved swatch library. STEP1.png shows the original art file and its save options. STEP2.png shows creating a pattern from the art and its associated settings. STEP3.png shows saving the swatch library (I removed all of the standard Illustrator swatches as they are unnecessary for the custom swatch library). PDF file objects and font look different than in the .ai file
Hello!
I am having an issue with Illustrator that no one from Adobe could fix so far after several tries and more than a few weeks. I have recently been working on a batch of packages (both in CC 2017 and CC 2018) and every time I save the .ai to PDF (any of the versions 6,5,4 etc.) some strange things happen (sometimes all of them, sometimes only one):
- the font seems bolder than it actually looks in the .ai file (even if it is converted to outlines or not) - img 11 - 13 (from 2 different files…1 vote
