  1. Trying to apply an opacity mask on an object with a freeform gradient makes it disappear

    I have an object with a freeform gradient and I'm trying to clip that with some text (which has been converted to a shape). Although it seems to work initially, after switching back form mask to the object layer, the object disappears completely.

  2. Changing color on gradient object freezes illustrator

    I noticed a similar issue someone was having in 2019, but it doesn't seem precisely the same. I am running Illustrator 24.3 on Windows 10. I recently pulled up an Illustrator file from last year to pull items for a new, related project. One of the vectors is a gradient - I'm trying to change it to solid fill. The only way I can do this right now is to change it to whatever solid is my default in my Tools panel, then change it to the actual color I want in my color palette.   3. Scaling freeform gradient objects with real-time drawing/editing on.

    When I have real-time drawing turned on, I can't select multiple objects that contain freeform gradients and scale them without losing the appearance of the objects. A single object works, more than one at a time will not. If I turn off real-time in preferences, this resolves the issue.

    Mac os 10.14, Illustrator c 24.2

  6. "Apply gradient across stroke" shows terrible banding compared to a standard linear gradient

    When applying a gradient to a stroke with the "apply gradient across stroke" option selected, the resulting gradient is very poor quality, with lots of visible banding.

    In the attached image the top gradient is formed by feathering a rectangle with corner radius of 31.235 px by 20px. The quality is fine, although feathering makes specifying specific colours a hassle.

    The middle object is the same rectangle with a 40pt stroke, with a white-to-black gradient applied with "apply gradient across stroke" selected. The gradient is very uneven, showing clear banding.

  7. Gradient stroke with spot colors separations error

    Using spot colors in a gradient stroke has problems on a close path. When viewing separations, white gaps appear between some spot colors.

  8. Gradient locks to a color stop in the color tab

    Gradient locks to a color stop in the color tab. If I want to use a solid fill, on the color tab it only allows me to change the color stop. I cannot do anything to escape out of the gradient stop. I have to remove the gradient first then choose a color. Older versions allowed me to just click on the color fill box and I can toggle between gradient stop and object fill.

  9. linear gradients switching to radial gradients unexpectedly

    Illustrator CC 2019 (both Mac and Win platforms) I teach at the college level. Numerous students have reported that they will create a linear gradient on a shape. When they continue editing other areas and return to that shape, the gradient has changed to radial. The linear gradient shape was not selected and they were not editing a gradient swatch. I cannot replicate this error. Any thoughts?

  10. Freeform gradient line stops disappearing

    The freeform gradient tool is very cool in its flexibility but I have encountered some major bugs with the line option. I can create the line stops but if I change the opacity of a stop from 100% then stops along the line most of the time one or more stops disappear.

    Sometimes just clicking or clicking and moving a stop makes stops disappear as well.

    It makes the tool unusable. Hopefully, it will become more reliable in a future release.

  11. Gradient stops being rotated when applied to a compound path

    When I make a compound path and give it a gradient and rotate it manually by 180 degrees everything is OK.
    When I rotate this object back by 180 degrees also everything is OK (gradient returns back to original 0 degrees). This how it should work.
    But when I save the file and open it again, this rotated object gets "damaged" — when I try to rotate it by 180 degrees, this gradient doesn't rotate, but it should. This happens only when I save the file and open it again. All guys in my team have the same problem with…
