  1. MacOS Big Sur rendering bug.

    Hi!
    I am an apple developer and I installed Big Sur beta (now on version 3) for work. I run into a problem with Illustrator that other people are not seeing. If I open one file everything is OK. When opening two or more files, I get a really nasty visual problem, with Illustror only. See file attached. Is anybody else having this problem, is there a way to fix it? I reinstalled Illustrator and it keeps happening.

  2. Scale Tool dialog shows random values when real-time drawings is enabled

    To recreate is problem: First enable Real-time drawing. Then draw a box. With the Scale Tool window open, uniform scale the box 400%. Duplicate that box by holding down OPTION key while click and dragging the box. Click on the second box and open the Scale Tool window: when I do this I no longer see 400% in the scale percentage, instead I find completely random numbers and sometimes it selects non-uniform. This gets annoying after a while.

  3. Bug: Shift + clicking anchor point with Delete Anchor Point tool doesn't retain curve shape

    24.1.1 on Windows 10 and Mac Mojave

    In CC 2020, Shift + clicking an anchor point with the Delete Anchor Point tool is supposed to work like the Simplify Path tool -- the shape of the curve shouldn't change. But even on a path with redundant anchors, this new shortcut doesn't work. The curve changes shape as in previous versions.

  4. Cannot see gradient annotator when several objects are selected

    Hi, in the latest version of Illustrator (2020), I can't see the gradient annotator when I select several objects at the same time. With a single object selected the annotator looks correctly, but when selecting two or more objects it is no longer displayed.
    In previous versions, the gradient annotator is shown when selecting several objects, which I find very useful for copying the properties of the gradient from one object to another.

  5. Illustrator CC 2018 in macOS High Sierra Save 'Adobe PDF' presets/.joboptions scrambled, unsorted, mixed up

    Since the Illustrator CC got updated to 2018 in macOS High Sierra, whenever saving as Adobe PDF, the PDF print settings/job options got all scrambled/mixed up in the 'Save Adobe PDF' dialog.

    These should be sorted alphabetically, but as you can see they're all mixed up. A couple of colleagues are also experiencing this. Is there any way to workaround/fix this issue? See related thread from InDesign - could a startup JSX fix this issue?

  6. Unwanted characters appearing when outlining text.

    When using Type > Create Outlines, there is a chance of unwanted characters appearing.

    Attached is a file where the error is reproducible. Notice how an additional "d" and "g" appear with you outline the text.

    This file was created using Ai CC v22.0.1 and according to forum posts ive found, this issue has existed since CS4 or possibly earlier.

  7. Deleting segment of path for 'Type on path' and than undoing it gives wrong result

    I have type on path.
    I delete one segment of the path, and text is now overflowing.
    I undo deletion, path got restored, but text does not — it is still trimmed, and I have to NOTICE this and drag end marker back.
    'Undo' must restore previous state fully.

  8. Illustrator crashes when opening a file using 'double click' that has missing fonts.

    Version: Adobe Illustrator 2018 CC v 22.0.1 (64 bit)

    Step 1: I open a blank Illustrator for the first time and it opens fine.

    Step 2: I double click a PDF from the back of an email attachment/the desktop etc and the file then tries to open in Illustrator.

    Step 3: The file opens but at the same time a blank 'missing font' dialogue box appears and Illustrator crashes. (The missing font is 'Helvetica-bold')

    Step 4: I have to close Illustrator using the task manager.

    This only happens when the FIRST file I open is opened by double clicking it.…

  9. Properties panel bug

    When you edit word in properties panel and you want to change first few letters in word from normal to bold. It will show you change but when you deselect type tools it will change entire word to bold. But if you go trough type panel everything is fine.

    And if you change stroke size in properties panel to 0,5 pt it will apply 5 pt, for 0,25 pt 25 pt and for 0,75pt 75pt stroke.

  10. 29.1.0 'Isolate selected group' menu item missing on right click menu when a nested group is selected.

    Illustrator version 29.1.0
    Windows 10.0.19045

    To replicate:

    1. Create group that contains a group
    2. Select group
    3. Right click the group
    4. 'Isolate selected group' menu item missing. In its place is the new 'Ungroup all' item.

    When the above actions are performed to a group without a nested group, the 'Isolate selected group' menu item appears as it should.

  11. 下揃えに設定したエリア内テキストを途中で改行すると上にスペースが十分あるにも関わらずオーバーフローする

    macOS13.6.7／Windows10・11
    Illustrator 28.5

    再現手順
    1.エリア内テキストを作成し下揃えに設定した上でテキストを入力する。
    2.任意の部分で改行を入力する。
    3.テキストは上に送られずにオーバーフローする。

    期待する結果
    上に十分な余白がある場合はテキストを上に送りオーバーフローさせない。

    実際の結果
    エリア内テキストに余白がある場合でもテキストの位置がそのまま保持されてオーバーフローを生じる。

    現状の対処方法
    当該エリア内テキストに対してストーリーの再計算が生じる処理（移動やカーニング・トラッキング調整等）を行うと正常な体裁に戻る。

    下揃えにした場合、途中の改行でもストーリー全体の再計算が必要になるのですが、上揃えと同様に改行以降の部分的な再計算だけが行われているように思います。
    また、これに気付かずにドキュメントを保存すると、次にドキュメントを開いて当該エリア内テキストを編集しようとした時に体裁が変化するために
    「このテキストは、別バージョンのIllustratorで作成されました。……」
    のアラートが表示されます。

  12. Windows版27.3.1で現行版MS-IME利用時にCtrl+ホイール移動でフリーズ

    Windows版27.3.1+MS-IMEが現行版（旧バージョンにしていない）の場合、Ctrl+マウスホイールによる横スクロールを実行するとフリーズします

    1. Windowsの設定で、日本語IMEの全般設定で「以前のバージョンのMicrosoft IMEを使う」をOFFの状態（デフォルト状態）
    2. 27.3.1で新規ファイルを作成する
    3. Ctrl+マウスホイールで横スクロールを繰り返す

    この操作のみでフリーズし、一切の操作がきかなくなります。

    「以前のバージョンのMicrosoft IMEを使う」をONにすることで回避はできますが、従来の27.2ではこの問題は起きていませんでした。

  13. Problem with Type on a Path after ver. 26.1 update

    Prior to updating Adobe Illustrator to ver. 26.1, a drawing with Type on a Path appears as it should. After the update, the text is positioned in a different place along the path. This is confirmed on a second computer. The same file opened on the second computer prior to the update appears normal, and after the update, the text is shifted.

  14. Illustrator 2018 Artboard Problem

    Every time I try to add a new artboard or rearrange existing artboards it causes Illustrator to freeze and I have to force quit. This was not a problem in Ai2017, please fix.

  15. It does not highlight the page on the artboard window

    I select a page from the artboard window. I navigate between pages with PageUp and PageDown on the keyboard.

    I'm looking at the artboard window. but I do not see which page I am on. it does not highlight the page.

    This problem came with the latest update. (Ullustrator version 22.0.0)

  16. Artboard units do not update when I change ruler units

    The units of the artboard do not update in the properties panel when I change the Rulers Units.

    I have to de-select, and re-select the artboard to make this happen.

  17. Can't see anchor point and handles of paths after breaking link to symbol.

    1. Version 21.1.0
    2. Draw the circle or any other simple shape, convert it to symbol then break link to symbol. Choose Direct selection tool and click on any anchor point. As result you will not see the handles of any point. The handles are shown only in isolation mode or outline mode but not in basic prewiew mode.

  18. TIFF形式で書き出す時に日本語でファイル名をつけるとTIFFファイルのレイヤー名が文字化けする

    Illustrator ver25.3.1 ja_JP/Macintosh
    macOS10.15.6

    再現手順
    １．アートボード上にアートワークを用意する。
    ２．ファイルメニュより「書き出し＞書き出し形式」を選択しオプションのTIFFファイルを選択する。
    ３．書き出されたTIFFファイルをPhotoshopで開くとレイヤー名が文字化けしている。

    結果
    TIFFファイルのレイヤー名が文字化けしている。

    期待する結果
    TIFFファイルのレイヤー名がver.25.2.3での結果のように正常に出力される。

    これは大勢に影響のない問題ですが、一連のUnicodeテキストの取り扱いに関する不具合だと考えられます。
    書き出されたTIFFファイルのイメージリソースブロック中の8BIMシグネチャ（TIFFファイルはリトルエンディアンですからファイル内のバイト順序は逆転してMIB8で保持されています）の関連する識別子が２つあります。このうちnormがシフトJISコードでビッグエンディアンにて記述されます。もうひとつのluniはUnicodeでリトルエンディアンで記述されるのが本来の状態です。このluniの方が文字化けを起こす要因です。しかし、どの様な変換エラーなのかまでは把握できませんでした。以下は不具合が生じている部分の抜粋です。いずれもファイル名は「テスト-1.tif」としています。

    ver.25.2.3による出力
    C630 B930 C830 2D00 3100

    ver.25.3.1での出力
    C900 6500 C900 5800 C900 6700 2D00 3100

    ※各文字コードはリトルエンディアンですからUnicodeLTとなります。
    ※最新版のPhotoshopはmormの方を正しく出力出来ないバグが存在します。

  19. Bug: Illustrator 22.1 Not Usable Since Mojave Update

    1. Mojave update on latest Illustrator CC version 22.1

    2. Basic usage of Illustrator

    3. Use Illustrator normally

    4. Random mouse clicks, movements etc making illustrator unusable. It's as if the interface and cursor just has a mind of its own sometimes. Even happening with Illustrator CS6 - Photoshop and InDesign CC have no issues at all.

  20. Glyph rendering bug with bitmap OT-SVG fonts

    Glyphs that consist of a single-colored bitmap image are not rendered in text frames nor in the Glyphs panel.

    When we start using them within a text frame, they also break the rendering of all subsequent characters (they disappear).

    To reproduce, enter the character "m" in the attached AI file.
