Properties panel auto select field contents
Illustrator v24.0
Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6Since the Properties panel was introduced in Illustrator, it won't allow selecting an item, then click once on a field name, such as W for the width field, and automatically select the contents of the field so you can then just enter a new value or use the arrow keys to change the value.
It works fine in the Control bar and other panels, just not in Properties.
It works in the Properties panels of InDesign and Photoshop, as well.
Was hoping it would be fixed in Illustrator 2020, but still not.4 votesSeems to be fixed in recent version of Illustrator.
Clicking a caption of a filed in Properties (if the caption exists for a value) does select the whole value, like it does in other panels.
Please verify and reply back.

multi-GPU setups cause Illustrator to glitch out and become unresponsive
I've got a two-GPU computer. If I'm using GPU preview mode, after working for a while (around 20-30 mins or more), the entire Illustrator UI will glitch out and become very artifact-y and unresponsive, and I can no longer work on the files I've got open, necessitating a restart of the app.
This started happening right after I upgraded from one GPU to two, about a year ago. It happens only in GPU preview mode, not CPU. I've tried updating GPU drivers, updating Illustrator itself--nothing fixes the problem. I've seen other people online with multi-GPU setups say the same thing happens to them, so I'm not alone.

Illustrator Brush/Blob brush Lag Issue
Windows 10 Pro
After latest Illustrator update, all brush tools are lagging - blob brush & brush. (using either mouse and tablet) Before an update everything works fine.
Restart and making more disk space didn't help.4 votes -
My brush does not display stroke
Im drawing in illustrator and when I got to the brush tool and draw it sometimes shows a dot or it doesn't show anything at all. When I release after drawing it shows the stroke but the finished product. You can see how annoying this is when sketching an idea. It just draws but doesn't show the brush outline before you release to make the line.

Misaligned patterns on SVG import
When opening an SVG file, pattern fills are incorrectly offset on both x and y axis.
An inconvenient workaround is to reapply the pattern (Select shape, select pattern swatch). This will then position the pattern correctly.
It would be great if the pattern was correctly positioned on file load.
Tested on Windows 10. Illustrator 23.0.6 64bit
See attached PNG for example.
pattern-test.svg used in the screenshot:

Giant Font Menu in Secondary Monitor
Using an external/secondary monitor off of a Surface Pro 6. The Font Menu is so big it's unusable. Works fine on the main display, but gets like this on the second monitor.

Image Trace panel greys out on existing traced object
CC2019 v23.0.6
After tracing an object, the Image Trace panel is greyed out. The only way to 'activate' the options is to switch views in the Control Bar a couple of times. It's arbitrary and annoying.

Color Swatches added to a Library disappear at random or don’t get added
Color swatches have disappeared at random. I try adding new color swatches by a USER defined library, and it's adding only patterns, no colors.

Illustrator crashes with every use. First, the drop menus depopulate, next the save dialog box dissapears, and then the program freezes
My issues with illustrator 2019 started with previous update, but I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1903 and it's still a problem. Seems I've been lucky though to have this only happen to me recently. People have been raising their hands on this being an issue for them since October 2018! Unbelievable. So what's the solution?

Raster images should always honor the layer order and transparency values when scaling/moving/rotating
When moving/rotating/scaling Raster images should always honor the layer order and transparency values.
With "show images in outline mode" selected, I often drop in low res raster images on the bottom layer and outline them with the pen tool in higher level layers.. problem is the way illustrator handles raster images. If i draw a line on top of a raster image, then attempt to scale that raster image, my line is temporarily hidden while scaling, moving or rotating the raster image, making it nearly impossible to re-align my raster image to match newly drawn vector lines. Also, raster images with transparency are temporarily opaque when moving/scaling/rotating. so any foreground lines i may want to use for a scale reference are invisible when using the move/rotate/scale operations.

Gradients Crashing Illustrator
Every time I drag a color swatch, whether an existing swatch or eye-dropped, into my gradient panel, Illustrator crashes. I'm also having issues with my gradient sliders spazzing out when trying to drag them. It causes my program to freeze up. I have one file open and only five gradients in my file, so not enough to overload illustrator. It's making my job extremely hard to do. I have also restarted and tried re-installing illustrator.

AI doesn't warn about matching hotkeys for commands and actions
Actions can only be bound to F-keys.
Keyboard shortcuts can be match to almost anything, including F-keys.
When user tries to register new keyboard shortcut that already exists, AI warns them about conflict.
But when user creates new shortcut for F-combination, already taken by action, AI says nothing.
For example, if one of my actions uses Ctrl+Shift+F2, and then I want to assign same Ctrl+Shift+F2 for 'Change case' command, AI won't notify me. Action will run, but not a command then. If I uses Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F2 for that (or any) command, it still won't run, but action will do.4 votes -

Duplicated artboards containing Export Assets link to the new artwork not the original
As the title says, Assets in the Export panel move from the original artboard and become linked to the new artwork on the duplicated artboards. Subsequently when you remove any artwork from the new artboard, you inadvertantly remove the asset from the Export panel.
Methodology:
Duplicate an artboard (which contains an asset in the export assets panel) via the Alt-drag method. Ensure the move/copy artwork option is enabled. Delete the new copy of the artwork/asset on the new artboard, and the asset is removed from the export panel.Expected behaviour:
Any link to/connection to export assets should be retained by the original artwork on the original artboard, thereby enabling the new duplicated artwork to act as a guide for a modified creation and such that once any components are removed, the original asset remains intact. As the title says, Assets in the Export panel move from the original artboard and become linked to the new artwork on the duplicated artboards. TIFF images as assets in CC Libraries are always placed as PNG images on the artboard
Affected: Illustrator CC all versions that are working with CC Libraries.
Tested with Illustrator CC 2019 version 23.0.3 on Windows 10. Illustrator versions on Mac OS X are also reported.Steps to reproduce the issue:
Do a new CC Library.
Add TIFF images saved from PhotoShop CC 2019 to the new library.
Two options how you can do this that I know of:
A. Drag the files from your file system to the open and empty library.
B. Use Adobe Bridge CC 2019 to drag files to the open library.Expected result:
If I want to use an image TIFF asset in my layout and place it on the artboard from a CC Library the placed image should show up as TIFF image with all the right properties, like the right color space, original resolution etc.pp.Actual result:
The placed TIFF is converted to PNG, color space is always RGB, regradless of the original. Always indicating transparency. Even if the original file stored in the CC Library has no transparency at all.
