Calligraphic Brush, Blob Brush appearance anomalies at small brush sizes (1 pt and above)
Illustrator 22.1, though this is extant in all versions I'm familiar with (since at least CS5).
When drawing with a calligraphic brush (and thus also with the blob brush) at small sizes, certain tight curves result in anomalous shapes extending out from the expected area covered by the brush. The screenshot attached is around 15mm across. AI file also attached. Expected result is that the brushed area corresponds to the shape of the calligraphic brush along the whole length of the path.
Remaining issues are addressed in Beta build 29.2.0.10, Please try and add a comment.

@Rama - It's occurring less frequently on the blob brush. Bust the issue is still present on the both the calligraphic an blob brushes.

I am still hoping for a blob brush setting smaller than 1pt. I was hoping for it to be small as .5pt or even .25pt: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/49292108
I design textile prints for children's apparel and use the blob brush a lot. The images are small and 1pt is often too large. Is there any chance that smaller sizes will be made available in the future?(Edited by admin) -
Matthew and Egor, except the white gap issue, the junction rendering issue reported in this thread is resolved in latest beta build 29.3.0.67 build. Please check and let us know if the issue reported in this thread is fixed.

Yes, Matthew.
Calligraphic brushes suck.
The smoothing applied is highly inaccurate and aggressive.
Now, with Live Preview, we can see it very clearly. And it doesn’t help to have less points. A final result is almost always random and changes sporadically, like the GIF attached shows. Hardly fixed... although, to be fair, I test this with 29.1 Beta, not 29.2.(Edited by admin) -

Here are my last results in 29.2.34. It's not as consistent as it was previously but I still have it happening. I did have to draw several brush strokes to get it to trigger. I have no idea why the using the brush tool with a mouse and pressure enabled behaves that way. It should look like a single uniform thickness.
