Speed up Redraw with All Thumbnail Options on One Button
Switching off thumbnails for improved draw speed means switching various options and locations to get the layer, object and transparency thumbs all switched off. Working many customer files per day this is a drag.
Please put them all on one "thumbs" radio button with options for all-on, all-off, or custom preference, so I can get my work done faster.
Make this an application preference rather than document preference to save me even more time.

Illustrator 2020 performance significantly slow/sluggish -
Sorry, can't recommend upgrade of 2020 to my colleagues. I work for a large Engineering firm and we have powerful computers. We have critical deadlines for Q4-2019 - Upgrading to 2020 will be a big mistake as it will cause delay to our projects and stress to the members .

Scale Calligraphic Brush - create new brush option
If you scale a path item with 10 pt stroke at 200%, you will get a path item with a 20 pt stroke. Note, the "Scale Strokes & Effects" option is enabled.
However, if a calligraphic 3 pt brush is scaled 200% (with a default stroke weight of 1pt and "Scale Strokes & Effects" enabled) the result will produce a calligraphic 3 pt brush with a 2pt stroke. Visually the brush stroke will appear bigger but the path item is still connected to the 3 pt brush.

9-point magnetic object-to-grid (or-grid to-object) without smart guides
Could you consider a feature used in Esko Graphics (Artpro) for the placement of objects (9-point grid) to a crosshair or placing a crosshair to an object. This would expand current align and artboard functions into one clean and user friendly feature. Would also improve functions such as Mirror, Scale, Paste in place, copying to correct location across various files even if rulers are not set the same. The ability to add CSS code from the Generator to CC libraries

SVG code for current document visible in non modal view
When fine-tuning SVG files, the ergonomics of the workflow are far less than optimal. This is especially problematic because SVG supports only a subset of what is possible in Illustrator.
A round trip to some other app, or viewing code via the export modal feels awkward and is certainly time-consuming. Worse, it takes me away from the main Illustrator editor where my art is actually visible/editable.

Allow user to set type font and size, and keep it until selecting a different font and size
I think it would be great if the program “remembered” which type font and size I was working with before in the same file, and keep it that way until I change it. It would also be great to be able to set the type and size across the program if desired, and have it be saved that way until I change it to a different font/size. Because right now, it always automatically goes to the default font and size, which is inconvenient, especially since the default size is 48 point, which is HUGE.

Adobe fonts do not auto activate reliably. Constant issues with Adobe fonts activating properly.
Your product does not auto activate and integrate "Adobe Fonts" properly. Fonts constantly fail to load or activate from the Adobe fonts library.
When features like this are not available, you are selling us a product that does not work. Everyone paying for an adobe subscription should be refunded based on the value of the feature. I.e. we should all be refunded for the value of PANTONE color use your app lost... why are we constantly paying to subscribe to a suite of programs that does not live up to the features promised? fsType not honored when exporting as PDF
Hello,
I've noticed the fsType value in the OS/2 table of OTF fonts is not honored by Indesign nor Illustrator.
I've set the value of fsType to 0x0102 and this should prevent subsetting and embedding.
However, Illustrator exports to pdf, embedding . Worst, it gives no warning the embedding/subsetting isn't allowed for the current font.for info, I had flushed any font cache to be sure the font files are the good ones and deleted them from my disk before reopening my pdf to be sure they're embedded.

Switching tabs doesn’t show the correct image in High Sierra
It’is absolutely impossible to work on Illustrator 2020. I have version 24.2, and there constantly switching tabs doesn’t work correctly. No matter what tab I've selected, I can only see 1 file. This happens randomly, and I have to restart the program to get the tabs to work properly again.
By the way, this is also observed in Photoshop 2020.
This bug is at least one year old. I don’t know how to fix it.
P.S. These screenshots are not mine (I don’t know how to cause this bug). But I have exactly the same situation

Prevent Conversion of Outlined Text to Editable Text
The Retype convert to live type feature makes it too easy for clients, vendors, and 3rd parties to convert uneditable work into editable work. It's a nice tool for your own work, but it is potentially bad for business.
Please add permissions features that allow us to control whether or not our files (PDF/AI) can be manipulated in this way by others or reconsider rolling out the Retype conversion feature.
Please DO NOT roll out the Retype convert outline to live type feature unless this protection is added to illustrator.

Renaming Slices for Easier Export
Since slices allow us to optimize to a set file size, we use sliced artboards at work to quickly create/export jpegs for the Google Display Network and for our sites. We've made the process pretty seamless with solid templates, but the only thing we haven't figured out how to do is rename the slices. The default is FileNameSliceNumber, but that slice number doesn't help us see the dimensions at a glance. If in our template we could rename slice "04" to "728x90" or whatever custom descriptor was necessary, we wouldn't need to manually change the slice name when…

Add Anchor Tool: Make it easier to add multiple anchors
When doing a complex drawing, I often start with a simple shape and then use the "Add Anchor Point" tool to add points to a line, near where I plan to place them (by clicking and dragging). For instance I'm drawing a partially constructed "Death Star" for a T-shirt I'm designing. Undo feature do not apply to selected objects
Basically what the title says,
An ability to isolate objects or lock certain layers where the undo feature will not apply to.
There have been a number of times where I start to work on a complex graphic with separate parts to it where I later realize I made a mistake on a piece i did earlier, so instead of saving the project, undo everything, save again and re import the previous saved file or other copy paste methods, we can just select the objects where the undo feature will not apply to, to keep the progress of the work…1 vote -
Problem with Adobe Illustrator pressure on a Surface pro 7
I recently purchased a Surface Pro 7. I am a graphic designer and an artist and I've always worked on Illustrator but after installing it to my Surface Pro the experience is ruined for me.
I cannot get a sharp line even if my life depended on it.

Please, please add legacy menus and tools as an option for a workspace. I have been using AI 3 for years on my old G5 and recently went to a new iMac and bought the full line monthly for all Adobe programs. Layer clipping mask (a bit like a paste-inside on steroids!)
I'd like to be able to convert a shape into a layer clipping mask which would then allow sub-layers to be created/converted so that they only remain visible within in the shape's boundary and would subsequently honour any sub-layer effects applied therein.
Why?
Well at the moment I have to expand any paths with effects applied to layers so that any effect is captured inside the clipping mask. This results in a destructive edit to my artwork and file duplication so that I can revert to the previous editable state when I need to make any changes.

bug: Screen turns black after choosing width tool
In between bugs I still try to make something in Illustrator, and now this happened:
- I hit Shift + W on the keyboard to select the width tool.
- Instead of the width tool cursor, the cursor became a black rectangle.
- I noticed both the Selection tool and width tool were selected in the tools window.

Improving creative cloud library by making it possible to transform a symbole from the cloud library in 1 document
I'm working for a company who makes workwear and we're having an issue with the creative cloud library.
We've made al of these symbols in the creative cloud libraries, but we've seen that we can't manipulate these in 1 document.
For example, we're making a coat.
First we take the front out of the library, then te sleeves and a pocket.
We see that it is impossible to change these objects in this new document.
These drawings from the library are added in the document like pictures, that's why we can't colour them for example.
