  1. Adobe Illustrator crashes when trying to create or open file..

    I decided to use Illustrator today and when i tried to make a new file, it would open and just stay grey and eventually it would stop responding and i would have to force quit it. I tried to open a file and edit it but the same thing happens. I am using Adobe Illustrator CC 2019.

  2. Data merge with variables shared by multiple objects should not create errors

    Assigning multiple objects to the same variable would be particularly useful for language translations, in which the same value should appear in different objects of the same document.

    While the UI allows to link several objects to the same variable, Illustrator behaves badly in these cases:

    1. When a new dataset is created, Illustrator will assign different values to the same variable and where the value shows up is unpredictable.

    2. The exported variable library is invalid and cannot be imported again.

    3. If a CSV is imported into such a document, the import fails with an unknown error, while the CSV import…

  3. Illustrator 24 does not memorize the artboards when saving as a PDF page

    Hi, now I am facing an unpleasant problem.
    After upgrading to the latest version of Illustrator (24), Illustrator stopped remembering the last selected artboard. I have to select it every time I save it to PDF. Quite annoying error. Has any of you met this before?
    The next mistake is, if the PDF already exists, it will not notify you that it is already and overwrite it directly.

  4. "Export for Screen" default folder is one specific folder and wont change

    When i use "export for screens" the default export location is one specific folder on my desktop, if i move that folder or put it in the trash, the default export location will change accordingly to "follow" the location of the folder.
    This happens for all files, also if i create a new file. A screenshot of this phenomenon is attached

    For reference, im on MacOS Mojave 10.14 and (the newest) Illustrator (CC 2019) 23.0.6

  5. Transparency on PNG not supported when imported or replaced

    Transparency mask on the png file shows as white when imported or replaced into illustrator data created last week.

    Transparency on the original png file on the illustrator is intact. The problem is seen only when the new png file is uploaded.

    I thought it may be the png file, but the problem occurs only on the illustrator.

    The problem started after updating both Photoshop 2019 and Illustrator 2019.

  6. SVGs: Objects with dashed lines are split up

    Hello,

    I create an object (rectangle) in the AI with a dashed line (8px / 8px). Contour 2px and grey filling.
    If I save this object as *.svg and then open the saved SVG again, the path of the rectangle is fragmented.
    This denomination always occurs just before the corners. In other words, a rectangle is divided into 4 paths and becomes a group...

    Sorry for a late answer. Basically it happens because of 'Align dashes to corners' option that is turned on for the object in Stroke panel. When it's on, Illustrator internally treats this stoke exactly like you have in the SVG — a group of normal dashed lines with recalculated gaps and dashes, and custom inserts where it's required.

    SVG just can't handles this, so to preserve the look it applies this treatment, converting it from the 'live' to 'expanded'.

    Try to disable the option and comment back if it helps.

  7. White is invisible in JPG after Export for screens from CMYK color space

    I had an issue when Exporting from a CMYK document with the Export for Screens... Option. I exported an artboard with a white (0, 0, 0, 0) logo on a black (0, 0, 0, 100) background and it turned out as a completely black JPG. I tried to change Export settings and colors but it always turned out wrong. As soon as I changed the color space to RGB it worked correctly.

  8. illustrator doesn't support 'vector-effect' in svg import

    illustrator doesn't support 'vector-effect' in svg import.
    'vector-effect' has 3 values : non-scaling-stroke | none | inherit

  9. export resolution png incorrect

    In Adobe Illustrator version 2020 the export png is broken. When selecting export in 300 PPI the result is a 1250 PPI image.

  10. Gradient expand in to separate colors when i'm trying to export files in EPS 10 in illustrator 23.1.1 version

    macOS Mojave,
    Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16 GM 1600 MHz
    Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

    when i'm trying to export files in EPS 10 in illustrator 23.1.1 version all the objects filled with gradients are automatically expand in to separate colours and just because this EPS file size are increases.

  11. Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened

    Upon opening program, error displays "Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened." I did research suggesting to open terminal and typing "$ ulimit" but I get "unlimited" as the output. The forum then suggested to report this bug here.

    System: Mac Pro Late 2013
    OS: Mac OS Mojave (10.14.4)
    Product: Adobe Illustrator CS6, part of the Design Web Premium Suite

  12. Open/Import svg into illustrator

    The line weights of imported svg files into Illustrator 24 come in heavier than the same svg imported into Illustrator 23.

    One example: Line weight of drawing in Ill 23 is .529 pt. Same file opened in Ill 24 is 1.5 pt.

  14. Pixel preview does not match exported file

    A print file that has been adjusted (RGB, pixel values) and optimized for the web (pixel snapping) shows a perfect alignment in the pixel preview, but has fuzzy edges after being exported to the web (no matter in which of the export dialog boxes).
    The same artwork can be copied to a newly created web file and the problem is gone.

  15. PDF options do not work

    --> This is a serious bug!
    Illustrator 2020 save as PDF does not show other options than "General" even though different tabs are selected

  16. O Adobe Illustrator está Travando e Fechando sozinho

    O meu adobe Ilustrator, esta com erro de travamento. principalmente quando vai salvar um arquivo., le trava e fecha. Já não sei mais o que fazer. Esse problema começou depois da atualiazação.

  17. Importing: An unknown error has occurred.

    Attempting to import a file that has multiple artboards, I get an error that states "An Unknown Error has Occurred" and after that I can no longer place any artwork what so ever without first quitting Illustrator.

    1. I am on Mac OS10.14.6 and AI 24.0
    2. File import, select file, checking import options, selecting which page/artboard and the place.
    3. It should place the art but
    4. instead deadlocks you from importing any files of any type after that without a hard reboot.

  18. Using the newest version of Illustrator won't let me use new files for older illustrator versions (ex: illustrator at school)

    Opening Illustrator files created last night on the newer version on my home computer won't load at school on an older version of Illustrator. The files are completely missing artwork. You can see all the components on the recently opened page, but when you open the file. The artwork doesn't load.

    Hi Deborah,
    We have bumped up the file format in AI 2020 so any file created in AI 2020 is not compatible in older versions. Please do a save as Illustrator CC version before sharing the file.
    The older release should also be warning users that the file was created in a new version and will have some data loss.
