1. New version randomly and continually changing position of endpoints

   I have a large map I'm working on that's doing a strange thing ever since AI CC's last update (21.1.0).

   After the update, Illustrator seemed to change the "Arrowheads" (circles in the case of this file) position at the end of SOME, but not all, of my lines. As far as I could tell, the unwanted and automatic change was completely random. Worse yet, it seems to be continuing at random, as though AI has developed an AI intended to drive me insane.

   Anyone else experiencing this? (In the sample screenshot, the circles at the ends of the lines representing Bronco, Arabian, and Palomino cul-de-sacs were created in Illustrator before the Creative Cloud's last update to stop before they encroached on the streets' labels. Note, however, the myriad cul-de-sacs to the right of these remain as they were intended.)

2. Cmd + Tab doesn't bring the main window to front

   When I use Command+Tab to navigate between programs, I have to hide all open programs to see Illustrator's interface. The open palettes will display, but not the the document window, toolbar, application bar. When I try to hide Illustrator, only the palettes respond. Illustrator is generally sluggish with High Sierra.

3. IllustratorSaveOptions in C# .NET is not working anymore as expected

   For more than a decade the following Illustrator script has been applied via C# .NET in combination with all existing Illustrator versions (sourcecode):

   typelib.IllustratorSaveOptions saveOptions = new typelib.IllustratorSaveOptions();
   saveOptions.Compatibility = typelib.AiCompatibility.aiIllustrator8;
   saveOptions.FlattenOutput = typelib.AiOutputFlattening.aiPreserveAppearance;
   DestDoc.SaveAs(sPath, saveOptions);

   All over the internet we see a lot of people using the same code above (applying the exact same idea) also in other programming languages.

   Following test has been done with Illustrator versions CS, CS2, CS3, CS5, CS6, etc. on the latest Windows 10 operating system and VS2012: draw 2 intersecting rectangles: above yellow, the other red. A transparency Difference has been set on the yellow rectangle.

   AI version 8.0 output results via scripted AI 8.0 output:
   using the source code above, in versions up to and CS5, three rectangles are outputted (transparency is being flattened), but later versions (CS6 up to and the latest Creative Cloud Illustrator version) outputs only two rectangles (do not flatten but remove the transparency as if option aiPreservePaths instead of aiPreserveAppearance is active).

   Everything is working well in case the save to AI format 8.0 is done manually from within the Illustrator programs.

   What has been changed that has broken this functionality? Do we have to add something to the code mentioned above, or, has a bug been introduced in Illustrator from version CS5 to CS6 which is still present up to and today? We have no idea why this is not working anymore. Please look into it because this piece of functionality is quite important for our customers.

4. Illustrator doesn't find color profile, which are shown in Indesign

   Hi everybody,

   I installed an eci color profile (pso-coated_v3) on my windows 10 computer (right-mouse-click, then install). In Photoshop CC and Indesign CC everything is fine, so it is installed correctly. But the new profile isn't shown in Illustrator CC.

   I reopened Illustrator and also de- and reinstalled it...

   Does anybody has got an idea, why the new profile doesn't show in in the color-settings of Illustrator?

   An installed color profile can be accessed and used like this:

   Edit > Color Settings: Working Spaces, CMYK: choose the profile you need.

   Then go to Edit > Assign Profile and set it.

5. Delay of text cursor

   1. Illustrator 22.0.0 (64-bit).
   2. There is a delay in the text cursor showing up when it's moved with arrows or a text path is newly clicked, requiring one to wait for it before being able to continue working.
   3. The text cursor should be immediately visible.
   4. There is a delay instead of a couple seconds. (That's a long time when making many moves in a row.)

6. Corners dialogue box deselects points when adjusting radius

   When selecting multiple points in a shape and double clicking on a corner widget to bring up the Corners dialogue box, changing the corner type and rounding affects changes all the selected points. However, changing the radius effectively deselects the other points causing only the point associated with the widget that I double-clicked on to be affected.

7. Snap to Point causes jumping with long Guides

   I'm using very long guides to create a custom angled grid, and use Snap to Point to snap paths to intersections of those guides. However, sometimes the Snap to Point causes "jumping", i.e. it tries to snap to the intersection, but when it does, it scrolls the document a tad upwards, and hence goes immediately out of snap. Sometimes it even causes jumps of hundreds of millimeters. It doesn't always happens, but only with some guides intersecting in some points. I cannot really say what actually makes it happen.

   I created a test file to where I isolated only three objects, the path with three vertices and two long guides intersecting. when trying to move the middle vertex to the guide intersection, it always jumps. It also happens if I paste them to a new document. It also happens even if I move the guides anywhere on the document.

   It only happens with guides, not when I release them back to paths. But, if I release and re-make guides, the problem still persists.

   However, strangely enough, if I take the diagonal guide and cut & paste (Paste in Place) it back to the same document, the problem goes away. This happens if I make the cut & repaste with either guides or guides released to paths and remade to guides.

   The guides were originally created en masse with just two lines and duplicated with Blend (thousands of lines), and then duplicated in different angles. I'm not sure if that affects this problem.

   (I'd just use paths to help alignment, but with thousands of lines the guides seem to burden the rendering much less.)

8. I can't paste into a new layer

   I've updated to Illustrator version 22.0.0. I am working on a file where I need to replace a logo bug, so created a new layer. I've locked the original layer and then tried to paste the new bug onto the new layer (yes, it is selected), but I get the notice "You are attempting to paste or drag into one or more layers that are locked or hidden. Do you want to unlock and show all approriate layers?" So now I have to paste onto the original layer first, then move up to new layer. Is this a bug?

   As stated in the comment, if 'Paste Remembers Layers' option is turned off in Layers panel’s menu, this is an expected behavior — Illustrator tries to paste the art into a layer with the same name it was copied from, ignoring the selection in Layers.

   If you disable it, Ai will respect the layer selected.

   There is a bug going on. Click " new file " and nothing happens. Please help me fix this asap

11. CC 2018 line Mode

    Not really sure (Im new to this program) How to describe this, But I'm sure it's not the norm.

    Graph work on logo in line mode zoomed in.

    I would also love to see a way to select multiple paths after creating them in the layers panel. One by one is tedious.

12. With "Snap to Point" on, the cursor doesn't change colour to indicate a snap to anchor will occur

    I just switched to AI 2017 from AI 2015 and i'm noticing this straight away. In preview mode and artwork modes. Turning on Smart Guides helps in some situations but in other cases it fails to identify a Snap when an anchor is around. Snap to Point should work independently of Smart Guides anyhow.

    Massively annoying.

13. Invalid Export Location

    When I "Export Selection" on an artboard, the "Export for Screens" window comes up. I select the asset, and choose the export location. No matter what location I choose I get an error upon export - "Invalid Export Location".

14. Cannot set tint percentage to C (cyan) value except by sliding cursor

    Illustrator CC 2018
    Windows 10

    If I want to set the tint value of a CMYK colour to the same percentage as the Cyan number (66 in the example below), my only option is to slide the cursor, because typing the value or raching the value with the keyboard arrows don't work.

    This was already an issue with CS6, on both Mac and PC.

15. Clicking to the side of a (point) text doens't put cursor at the end of line

    Mac OS X El Capitan and Windows 10

    This used to work on CS6 (at least on Mac): with type tool selected, having clicked anywhere in the middle of a text (point, not area), if I wanted to go to the end of the line (eg to continue typing), I could click anywhere to the right of the text and the cursor would move to the end of the line.

    Now, if I do that, it deselects the text (sometimes creates a new point text.

    If I want to continue typing, I have to click exactly just after the last letter.

    I liked the old way better and I don't see any advantage to the new one?

    Any thoughts on this?

17. Ability to record the "Make Pixel Perfect" action

18. Borders_Dashed Treatment Changes Spot Color to Process

    I draw a box, stroke it with a spot color, apply a "borders_dashed" treatment. The Spot color becomes process. Please fix.

19. Variable font with Adobe World-Ready Composers

    Variable font dont work with Adobe World-Ready Composers. (Only regular adobe composers) so no variable font on rtl launguage (working perfect on browser)

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our release – 23.0 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
