  1. Shortcut not working

    Win10 cc2019 azerty KB : CTRL + ; shortcut (hide guides does not work for no apparent reason.) If I try to assign another combo CTRL + , it works fine. Any reason why ?

  2. Illustrator ignores ‘Use Preview Bounds’ setting unless multiple objects are selected

    Not much more to say. Single object selected? Bounding box ignores the object's stroke. Multiple objects selected? Bounding box encompasses the stroke.

  3. Workspace window falls off the page

    The newest update does not fix the issue I am having with the workspace window falling off the page when I try to drag the bottom right corner to better fit my art/desktop as needed. Does not respond to the position of my mouse, I have to over exaggerate where I want it while I click and drag my mouse.

    Kimberly, the image you attached to the report is not related to it, and shows a screenshot of the UV page instead.

    So if you are still having this problem, please provide a proper screenshot or maybe a video even, if necessary. Either way, please comment back on this.

  4. What video formats can we upload to bug requests?

    I used to be able to upload videos to the bug reports but now no matter what format I seem to choose, I get a note that the format cannot upload. Furthermore, the bug report gets posted anyway without notice so if I try to upload a different format the post is double posted.

    Can you please tell us what types of formats are allowed?

    We receive videos in form of .mov, .mp4 and at times even .mpg.
    This portal allows attachments up to 50 mb and you can use any format for it. Is it possible there is a software or an browser extention that is troubling you. Can you please try this bug form from another browser or computer.

  5. Dragging multiple groups by text anchor deselects other groups.

    See attached video. With multiple groups selected, clicking and dragging by one of the group's text anchor deselects all other groups. Only the group with the selected text gets moved.

  6. Missing workspace when using external monitors

    When I use my external Monitors (Dell, only 3 month old) in combination with my newest generation MacBook Pro Illustrator crashes all the time when the monitors are set into standby-mode. Strange to say this issue only appears when the monitors are in standby-mode for more than 10 Seconds!

    After 10 seconds waking them up illustrator only shows one of my tool-options. No toolbar, oder canvas. At the moment it's really hard for me to work with this issue because i need to restart illustrator all the time to get rid of it.

  7. Holding Shift with Smart Guides enabled when using Scale tool is works unreliably

    macOs Sierra 10.12.6

    Illustrator 23.0.1 - Scale tool doesn't work the same as it's been for years!! Ugh!

    Please revert to the legacy behavior of scaling shapes, images and text proportionately by using the scale tool + holding shift key and drag to enlarge or reduce size of shape proportionately. This way has been burned in my brain for many, many, many years. My fingers move faster than I can think, and now my logos turn out wonky unless I scale it the long way, by opening up the scale tool and typing in percentages!! No thanks.

  10. Alignment Tool is Off

    I'm using the alignment tool to center a logo onto it's artboard. Both the logo and the artboard are 500px by 500px, but when I use the align tool the logo is off by a couple px. It's barely noticeable until I export to png, then I can see that the circle is cut off slightly.

    Any help?

  12. 'could not complete package' message in Illustrator CC 2019

    Trying to package an illustrator file is met with 'could not complete package' message. No further explanation is provided. This is an inconsistent error, it seems more common when the file contains .eps links.

  14. Scatter Brush - cannot make adjustments

    Mac OS 10.14.1 Illustrator 23.0.1 Scatter Brush dialog will not Preview adjustments, will not accept "OK." Must Cancel and lose adjustments to leave dialog.

  15. Pixel number inconsistency

    Windows 10? (most recent and just updated yesterday)
    Illustrator 22.1 (64bit)

    When I told Illustrator to create an artboard of 350x350 pixels, I thought it could actually do so. That was the template image size that our web designer propogated across our entire website.

    Then I exported 11 images from Illustrator to .png format to re-build one of our webpages. They came out as 1459x1459. Now I will resize them in Microsoft Paint. They'll pixelate and probably look like trash. All because Illustrator can't understand "350 pixels x 350 pixels" on the Create New prompt window.

    The intended way to ensure your pixel-sized document stays the same size after export is to use the default screen resolution — 72 PPI.

    If you set anything else, Illustrator will scale the image accordingly (as if the 'Resample' option in Photoshop is ticked when you resize an image).

    There is no way to write a custom resolution AND maintain the desired size at the same time.

    The reasoning behind this behaviour is that the resolution value is supposed irrelevant when an image’s intent is Screen or Web. An image can have no resolution value stored in it at all, it’s just an optional coefficient, and then different viewers and editors suppose a value on their own — usually 72 PPI (Mac-style) or 96 PPI (Windows-style).

  17. text change when opening in Illustrator CC 2019

    Illustrator 23.0.1 on Mac OS 10.12.6
    I have issues when I open a document that was created in Illustrator CC2017 in CC 2019. It seems that the text spacing is different, so sometimes some characters are changing to the next line!

  18. Annoying opening screen

    I reinstalled the system. I removed and reinstalled Adobe Illustrator. No solution. I don't understand why the problem is caused.

  19. Vectorise text doesn't work on text mask

    There's a bug in Illustrator (all versions MacOS 10.12.6):
    when there's a non-vectorised text mask in a file and you do select all -> vectorise text, the non-vectorised text mask will not be vectorised.
    Then when you re-open the file on a computer without the active fonts, it won't give you a warning that there's a missing font!
    Only when you click on the mask it will say that there's a font missing.

  20. Releasing a Layer Mask releases all clipping masks within

    When I create a layer mask that includes clipping masks within, there are problems releasing the layer mask.
    a) Using the Layers panel Make/Release Button releases some of the clipping masks within. (see attached movie)
    b) Using the Properties panel button and/or the Object > Mask > Release will appear to do nothing, but is a redraw issue requiring View > Outline / View > Preview toggle.
