  1. Set Area Type width to larger than 13.888 inches via Type->Area Type Options... dialog

    Though the type tool can draw area type boxes of any size, the width property of the Area Type Options dialog box can only be set up to 13.888 inches. This means that for any wider area type, whenever you change a property within the Area Type Options it will be resized to 13.888 inches wide.

    This is not a new problem as seen in this thread started in 2010: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/701249.

    I often work on area type larger than this seemingly arbitrary limit. If I adjust the columns, gutters, inset or any other property found within the Area Type…

    I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 25.1 which is available worldwide now.

    Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

  2. Bug saving and opening legacy version 8

    Bug in latest version of Illustrator CC2018
    A file saved as version 8 (eps or ai doesn't matter) can't be reopened in Illustrator CC2018.
    Got this problem since this month (January 2018)

  4. Unable to move anything once placed within Adobe Illustrator

    I am using the latest version of Adobe Illustrator, i have restarted both my computer and my program numerous times and the issue persists. I am unable to move anything once placed on the Illustrator workspace. the only thing it allows me to do is to resize the objects but not move them.

    It is really frustrating when you come across issues like this which just interrupt workflow preventing you from doing the simplest actions. I am sure there is a fix but I don't have the understanding to know how to fix the issue and the majority of forums…

  5. Illustrator CC 2018 (Mac) "Beachball of Death" Crash Anytime I try to Save! HELP!

    I've seen this issue in other spots but can't understand why it's not resolved. I've attached an error log in Word.

  7. In CC2018 the combination of alt and shift to duplicate and align at the same time doesn't work at all

    In CC2018 the combination of alt and shift to duplicate and align at the same time doesn't work at all in my iMac.
    I would like to know how to fix this problem since this is very difficult to work like this.

  8. Dotted line stroke defaults to 0 dash 1000 gap

    BUG:
    Dotted line stroke defaults to 0 dash 1000 gap.
    Illustrator 22.0.1
    Trying to make a dotted (circles) line (2 pt. line with rounded caps) with 0 stroke and 3 gap.
    Defaults to 0 dash 1000 gap.

  9. Type reverting to default when using shift or symbols.

    When within the text box, every time I use a symbol (i.e. parenthesis, bullet point) the action causes the type font to revert back to default. In the attached image I was using Acumin and after the parenthesis it reverted back to Myriad Pro.

    It's just inconvenient to have to select the text over again and make it the correct font.

  10. cant copy text from illustrator and paste to indesign

    When I attempt to copy selected text characters (not the object) and paste in Indesign, I get outlined characters. I have to go through TextEdit, or any other place I can paste text, then copy it again to get text that will paste in Indesign as characters.

    The latest version of Illustrator and InDesign have better handling of the buffer contents now. A selection of text at character level from Illustrator now gets copied and pasted fine in Indesign.

  11. Artboard Custom Resize Bug

    Illustrator V22.0.1
    2 problems

    1. When manually updating artboard dimensions, the artboard itself no longer previews your changes, you have to click "Update while dragging" to see the size before closing the window.

    2. Artboard dimensions sometimes automatically revert back to previous values, if the new values are close in number. For example changing 423mm to 420mm, the value in the box would revert back to 423mm immediately.

    No specific files, this happens in general.

  12. Adobe Color CC "Adobe Servers not available" [Bug]

    Unfortunately I can't open the expore-rider of adobe color cc when signed in.
    Everything works perfectly, when I'm visiting the webpage https://color.adobe.com as a guest. But when I sign in, which is required to perform any actions, the above mentioned error occures.
    The "Create" and the "My Themes" riders work still perfectly when signed in.
    I've tried it under Edge/Chrome and Firefox. Besides Firefox none of the browsers has Addons installed. I'm running a Windows 10 Machine.

  13. Image Trace has a problem keeping the artwork in the same location from the original.

    Illustrator version 22.0.1

    Image trace seems to have a problem keeping artwork in the same location from the original. Screen Shot 1 shows some text that I have rasterized to be image traced. I work at a die making facility so rasterized images need to be made into vectors for our CNC machines to "read them."

  14. Style Menu in Warp Options panel not opening.

    CC2018 in OSX.11

    When I click on OBJECT/ENVELOPE DISTORT/MAKE WITH WARP when an object is selected I cannot open the STYLE menu in the WARP OPTIONS box. I click on the menu and only ARC is available, menu does not open.

  15. Multiple Bugs

    Alrighty, there are a few different things going wrong here. The version of Illustrator I'm using is CS3 on Windows. One of my issues is that when I'm using the selection tool, it won't select an object if I simply click; if I want to move an object or simply select it to re-scale it, I have to click and drag my mouse over it. This makes my life difficult, as it's a serious pain to select objects, and it's extremely annoying.

    Illustrator cc 2018. In the new property panel. At least in the spanish version, the line width of 0,5 mm appears as 0.5 and when selected it creates a line of 5 mm.

  17. path view

    Version: Illustrator CC 2018 22.0 (Standard)
    Illustrator does not show a path view. When I select Path View, the object is no longer selectable and no path view is displayed.
    It's the same with every file, both simple and brand new.
    It didn't work in the previous version either.
    In older versions it worked without any problems.

  18. 'Remove redundant points' in Pathfinder options keeps unticking itself

    AI doesn't respect 'Remove redundant points' being checked in Pathfinder options and always unticks it.
    This option must not resets itself.

    All units are set to 'px'.
    Appearance stroke width dropdown says 'mm'.
    Stroke same dropdown says 'px' all right.

  20. Custom color library have varied and inconsistent behaviors

    When creating a custom color library, for example, using PANTONE colors with custom CMYK values, Illustrator imports them in to the Swatches panel inconsistently. Double clicking adds colors one way, clicking on "add to swatches" adds color another way. And, some PANTONE colors are added differently than how they were imported in to the custom color library. For example: I created a custom CMYK build for PANTONE 115 C. I imported to my custom color library then double click to add to swatches. It adds the color but somehow converts the color to what looks like a Lab to CMYK…
