1. Font Suggestion and Cursor misbehaving

   I'm already feeling a lot of regret for updating to CC 2018!
   Now anytime I want to change a font, and I start typing in the name, no suggestions come up. Sometimes, the cursor jumps backwards and start inserting characters midway. I feel frustrated and fed up.

   Looks like your setting is set to “Search First work only”. Click on the search icon and from the drop down select “Search Entire Font Name”

2. Pixel Preview stuck the Program

   I have Illustrator cc 2018.
   When I press Pixel Preview -
   1. It does not show a pixel preview - it keeps show the vector preview.
   2. It jams the software. You can't do any action, unless close the software. And than if you press pixel preview again - it will happen again.

3. Click and touch release problems Illustrator CC 2018 Mac High Sierra - cause dictation software

   Illustrator v 22.0.1, Mac OS High Sierra on Macbook Pro 2016, touch bar, 2.9GHz Intel core i7, 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3

   Clicking, tapping, with trackpad or wireless mouse (Kensington wireless Turbo Mouse trackball): click/tap does not release, so the object is highlighted or selected and stuck to the cursor as you move it around.

   In the layers palette, (The new Properties/Layers) clicking/tapping a layer lock to unlock it may unlock it with a delay, or lock/relock it. The same goes for view/hide visibility for layers. The response is difficult to interpret, possibly because of delays. But it not possible to use the application at all, with trackpad or mouse. I do not have another mouse, but will try with one if I can acquire one.

   Discussions in the community have noted this behavior with Illustrator CC 2018 and High Sierra, and some suggested turning off GPU in performance preferences. This does not solve the problem.

   This kind of issue does not occur in any other application, Adobe or otherwise, in Mac OS High Sierra.

4. Strokes become sporadic and missing in some places

   Strokes become sporadic and missing in some places. I don't know what the issue is. My strokes were perfect yesterday and now I update my Mac and the strokes are now sporadic, jagged and missing in places. See screenshot.

5. Type on path issue

   Illustrator 22.0.1 (64-bit)
   When I move the beginning or ending tabs of the path after placing the text such as to center the text on a oval, once I move one or the other of the starting or ending placings, the lines to move them disappear. I am attaching a before and after picture to show you

8. Bug star with a radius of 0.

   Since updating to #illustrator CC 2018, why it is now impossible to create a star with a radius of 0. I am a French trainer and it is now impossible to create a star with a radius of 0. I tested on PC and MAC and there is always this problem.

9. White tiny garbage artifacts appear on curved stroked lines

   Not sure if this is a bug, a setting, a or a feature. But the stroke will not fill properly. This atrocity only occurs when attempting to make a curved line. Please help.

10. Illustrator opening as trial and not recognizing current subscription

    when opening illustrator from CC app manager or directly from start menu,
    illustrator does not allow to open full version even though I have pro subscription. There is a button to buy now but that just takes me to purchase an additional subscription which I'm paid up for. I really need to use Illustrator soon as possible. Thanks

11. Transform Each always uses visible preview bounds instead of expected geometric bounds, ignoring the state of Use Preview Bounds option

    Rotate via Transform Each incorrectly places reference point.
    1. Version: AI-CC 22.0.0
    2. Steps taken:
    Objects: Triangles with 1:1 height/width ratios. Stroked with stroke centered on vector and sharp corners.
    Operation: Rotation via Transform Each command with a centered reference point.

    1. Expected result:
       Since the vector was contained within a square bounding box (1:1 H:W), I expected the triangles to rotate without changing XY location.

    2. Actual result:
       Rotations happened off-center, slightly moving the triangle toward the point that did not align with one of the bounding-box corners.

    Additional Testing:
    I tested the behavior of both the Rotate tool and the Rotate command with a centered reference point and they performed as expected with the bounding box remaining at the same XY coordinates.

    I then tested the Transform Each command on a triangle without a stroke and found that it also performed as expected, rotating around the center point without shifting the XY coordinates of the bounding box.

    Finally, I increased my stroke size to be very large and tested the Transform Each rotation command again and found that the XY offset was directly related to the width of the stroke outside the vector path.

    Conclusion: When performing a rotation, the Transform each tool calculates the center point based on the visible bounds of an object instead of the geometric bounds. Given that with triangles, the stroke is approximately twice as wide at the corners vs the edges, this shifts the reference point to be off-center compared to the actual vector, causing an incorrectly rotated vector.

    Fix: Ensure that the Transform Each command correctly calculates the reference points based on the vector alone instead of the visible bounds of the object. (or better yet, add this as a checkbox option... there IS one more spot available to even out the second column of checkboxes, and I can see there being times when I would want to transform based on visible bounds)

    Hi,

    Please see if Snap to Grid is on in your document? If yes then try turning that off and try again.
    Otherwise follow below steps :
    > Click on finder , when you will click on finder on mac at the top you will see an option as “Go”
    > choose Go > Go To Folder
    > In go to folder , type ~/library
    > choose application support/Adobe/rename the folder named as Adobe Illustrator22Settings to Adobe Illustrator21Settings.old
    > go back to library folder where you got application support folder and scroll down
    > Open the Preferences Folder rename the folder named as Adobe Illustrator22Settings to Adobe Illustrator22Settings.old

    Launch Illustrator and check if it works and share the outcome with us .

13. Layer Options Color Changes/Problem

    I use Illustrator on an iMac. With the upgrade to CC 2018, the following happened:
    1) In the Layers Palette, all layers colored Cyan changed to Yellow;
    2) All layers colored Magenta changed to Cyan.

    By itself, this is not a terrible problem (disregarding Yellow as a terrible layer color to begin with!) The problem comes when I try to change them back.

    When I open the Layer Options for a particular layer, I used to hit 'Tab' to take me to the Color, then 'C' to get Cyan. Now, it brings up a Custom window that I have to click to close, before typing 'C' and getting Cyan.

    Specific colors are required for specific layers where I work, to leaving them in their changed state is not an option.

    Please fix this, please.

    The program dosnt save the preferences units, always take the new files in ******* pt!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont use pt!!!!!!!!!!

15. Selection tolerance issues using pen

    When I'm using Surface Pen on my Surface Book Illustrator randomly starts to select nearest top objects instead of the highlighted one. It starts randomly but very often. Opening preferences and checking-unchecking anything then pressing OK temporary fixes this issue. If i'm using touchpad - everything is ok.
    I've already reported this bug to Windows Ink Team (windowsink@microsoft.com), but am duplicating it here, because i'm not sure what is causing this issue. Windows 10 and Adobe apps were updated on the same day for me and both of them have a lot of issues, not only when i'm using a pen.
    Also now i don't see the brush, blob brush or pencil cursors, only windows default dot when using Surface Pen on my Surface Book. Also pressing Ctrl while using pencil tool sometimes activates selection tool, some times not.

16. Breaking link of scaled Symbol with "Scale strokes and effects" off will scale Symbol appearance back to original.

    Illustrator CC 2018
    Windows 10

    I have put a Symbol on my Artboard, and scaled it to 50% of its original size.
    I want to break its link, and maintain its proportional appearance (i.e. stroke width half of original).
    If "Scale strokes and effects" is off, stroke sizes are doubled (back to original value). You have to tick it on for it to work as expected.

    Is this a bug or a feature?

    In the attached image, to the left is the Symbol (at 50% scale) broken with tick on, to the right off.

17. Editing a small CC Library object breaks the thumbnail

    Editing small CC Library items leads to imminent damage to it's thumbnail.

    1 Create an object in Illustrator (for testing purpose make it 4pt x 4pt)
    2 Add it to cc library (noth that thumbnail is generated properly)
    3 Edit the cc lib. object in illustrator (anything will do just add a rectangle anywhere on the canvas)
    4 Save/close the CC lib object

    Expected: the thumbnail is updated and represents the content of the CC item
    Observed: the thumbnail is ridiculously small/not readable

18. In a Group (Isolation mode), cannot set a sub-Group as key-object for alignment

    Illustrator CC 2018
    Windows 10

    I have a Group, containing other sub-Groups.
    I enter Isolation mode by double-clicking on the Group.
    Once inside, I select all sub-Groups and want to set one of them as key-object for alignment. I can't.
    It works with single objects but not with sub-Groups. It's very handicapping.

19. Can't select or hide layers, AI instantly changes it back

    All was fine, until I discovered I can't change layers' visibility or lock them.
    Restart won't help. Please see animation attached and document shown.

    I remember I had this bug before but it somehow went away.
