Startup performance

Illustrator has always been sluggish on startup, but 27 seconds on a recent SSD MBP is totally unacceptable IMO.

Thoughts anyone?

By comparison PS is ready to go in 7sec.

Standard install CC 2018 / Il 22 on MacOS 10.13.1

Our typical launch numbers on a SSD MBP is around 6-7 seconds hence we would like to understand more about the issue and problem.

    All Astute plugins, Axotools, Overlord, Fontself, 441 fonts.

    M1 pro 13” 2020 - 14 s
    M2 pro max 16” - 5 s

    26 secs. 30 plugins (Astute, RJ). SSD 1 Tb/16 RAM/i7 10th gen/nVidia 3060 6 Gb/Win 10 last update

    About 25-30 sec with 30 plugins on my i7, windows 10. It's too slow imho.

    So I have ~40 custom plugins.
    Ai on my Intel i7 4470 3.4GHz (with 24GB of RAM) takes from 45 to 60 seconds to launch.
    Then it’s 8 seconds to show New Document legacy (3 second next time) — and modern File New is even more than that.
    And finally 4–7 seconds to actually create a document (and zoom to artboard, which I hate).
    I have now 706 font families installed in the system folder.
    Windows 10. SSD.

    I don’t like this launch time.
    I have an access to M1 Macbook occasionally also, and Ai launches in like a dozen of seconds there.

    Please share your timings.

    when i will open adobe illustrator then i face loading in front page .place help me . How can i solve this problem . Even i face not responding adobe illustrator .

    Same here. I've removed the pref settings folder, uninstalled everything and re-installed. However, it still freezes during startup...

    A reqction almost 5 months (!) after this issue is an inacceptabel long time. I'm done with this.

    Is this happening with the latest version as well? Have you tried with fresh preferences . You can find the preferences file at this location-

    <OSDisk>/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator <version number> Settings/en_US*/Adobe Illustrator Prefs

    Everything Adobe takes forever (and I mean forever) to launch here.

    Since 'upgrading' to CC2019, it takes about 5-8 minutes for Illustrator to open after the splash screen appears, during which time the task manager shows it using 0.8MB RAM and 0% CPU. InDesign won't even show the splash screen until after Illustrator has opened, then it takes a few minutes after the process appears, using very little in the way of resources. The total system usage at this time, for all applications, is between 8 and 34% RAM and up to about 25% CPU. Older versions did not have this problem. I have this problem on multiple systems, the weakest of which has 32GB DDR4 RAM, a Core i7 9700 CPU, and a GeForceFX 1060 GTX with 6GB VRAM, running Windows 10 x64 Pro on a Samsung 970 Pro 1TB NVME drive. Photoshop opens within about 1-2 seconds of showing the splash screen, and all programs are responsive and quick once actually opened. I have tried deleting Preferences, even going so far as to manually edit the registry, a process with which I have more than a little familiarity. The CC2018 apps did not have this problem.

    @Gisella. Running it through the app does NOT fix the issue. Reinstalling does NOT fix the issue. Only workaround I have is deleting the Temp folder deep within users/username/appdata/local/

    Tried runnung it via App...no dice. It's stuck on loading the recent files etc. What to do friends?

    Took forever to launch Illustrator - using Mohave 10.14.2 - all other Adobe products launching fine although I've had trouble with Acrobat as well

    If you open Illustrator through Adobe Creative Cloud app (and have some patience), it will run ok.

    After newest update 23.01 splash screen freeze on trying to initialise SmartEditUI.aip for few minutes (and crash if I try click on it at this time)

    This only happens at the first time start.

    On the adobe forum I see that people have the same problem

    Slow Slow Slow... plug-in that are not used should be able to disable to make illustrator start up faster. Extremely long startup.
