Illustrator CC 2019 is very slow and laggy
I'm using a Mac OS 10.13 Intel Core i7 16 GB. Ever since I updated to the CC 2019, illustrator became laggy and slow. The other adobe apps worked fine after the update. I saw here that I should try turning the dictation off but that didn't help.
Everything in illustrator is slow now. And if I use the blend tool a lot in one document the eyedropper option in the gradient window becomes unavailable. Everything even if it's as simple as moving from one art board to the next or zooming in/out is lagging

I believe the problem has been solved for me... I called in for one-on-one help with Adobe. It took over an hour, but someone worked remotely on my computer to solve the problem. As i understand it, preferences were adjusted and I was told to use only the latest version of AI. I also turned off auto save in preferences as someone else had called this out as a solution.
All is working smoothly now!!! -

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of San Jose, CA due to the lack of response to this issue. I've sent multiple emails with no response and posted on this board a number of times. The issue has been going on longer that a year (same issue in CC 2019 and CC2020) with no response. Unacceptable!
I suggest everyone in this thread file a complaint as well.

Guys, it is true.. Ai is lagging and I can't really design for the clients after my 1 week holidays..
Its 23:16 and i'm cursing since 10 minutes.
What is good: The problems here are in the same time (November 2019)
- Please help us Ai, I didn't pay to work slower. I didn't buy an iMac for a slow and laggy performance -

Recently updated to 2020... I am still seeing the same issues when opening and saving documents. Very often it takes several minutes to open a simple document.

One of the 2019 updates made copy and paste and saving HORRIBLY slow. Same issues with 2020. Normal useability seems OK, but it freezes up and I get the Not Responding message sometimes for a minute when trying to save. Win10 Pro. Dual Xeons 64GB Ram and QuadroP4000. No excuses.

SOMEONE ANSWER THIS!!
2 hours this morning I've done 15 minutes worth of work and 1:45 of troubleshooting and time wasting.
What is going on? Fix this adobe!
I cannot wait until there is a viable alternative to your entire suite. The responsiveness and service you get with your monopolized product is laughable.

Both 2020 and 2019 Illustrator are horribly laggy and gets worse over the work day. Painful to nudge or type (1-2 seconds of lag every input). This needs to be fixed. The rest of the system / other programs open do not have problems, only Illustrator. CPU/Memory/GPU remain < 10% usage at all times.

And that "Gentle Reminder 2" above, I sent an email and they never responded.
Also, discovered that CC2020 is selectively laggy. Meaning sometimes it runs smooth, other times has a LITERAL 2-3 second lag just to select a simple rectangle.
COME ON ADOBE. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

illustrator 2020. To package a file is really tedious...approximately 5 mins or more just to save a link picture to the Links' folder. End up down version to 2019 then package the file again. What's happening? An upgrade for productivity becomes a downgrade of speed and precious time. Radiculous to even let user to upgrade to a "beta" version.

Having cursor lag with 2020, feels like I'm drawing through molasses. Haven't been able to work enough to see if there are further lag issues.

Good Luck with that Lekler. I had the problem with CC2019 and was never fixed. I ran cs6 for the entire year. Good thing I kept it. 2020 is much smoother now but saving is much, much slower.
Knew this would happen once Adobe switched to subscription only. Time to learn Affinity.
