Random crashing - 24.0.3
I have a brand new 16" MacBook Pro.
OS: Catalina 10.15.2. 32Gb Ram. 2.4 Gz Processor.
Illustrator 2020 v24.0.3
The app is constantly, randomly crashing. When waking up machine (10 min auto sleep) there is a message waiting that Illustrator has unexpectedly quit. ,And, now it seems hung up on launch.
Here's what I've done so far:
- Ran app diagnostics as recommended on restart. No info was provided.
- Uninstalled and reinstalled.
- Disabled lots of 3rd party extensions
- Restarted machine
- I have 90 crash reports.
This issue is fixed in Illustrator 25.0 and above.

It's crazy. No matter how many updates. or how many times I reinstall. Same issue over and over again.
I've been an adobe user for well over 30 years... and this is the worst I've ever experienced with an adobe product. -

I'm on my 3rd MBPro 16" with this exact same problem. It's crazy that I want to avoid closing the lid on my laptop or letting it fall asleep in fear of Adobe Illustrator crashing. On latest version of AI as of this post, 16" MBPro with 8-core i9 2.4, 1TB SSD, 64GB Ram and AMD 5500 card. We've got 4 MBPros with this same config at our office, and all of them do this and have done so since early January 2020 when we started buying this model/configuration.

Same problem. Very frustrating. Every time my Mac sleeps, without fail, Illustrator will have crashed upon wake. If I turn off GPU performance it does not crash, however the performance of the app is unacceptable this way.
2019 16" MacBook Pro
2.3 Ghz Intel Core i9
32GB RAM
Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB

Same Here Illustrator 24.1.2 on Catalina
I used to use the cracked version and I never had any crash, just when I decided to actually purchase the subscriptions is been nothing but problems. I lost my work so many times that its really unacceptable.
I use Astute pluggins and Fontbase. Illustrator always crash when my laptop goes to sleep mode, lately crashed while using the undo action..... I m without words..... if I knew this would be my daily stress I would stay on the cracked version.
I have already submit numerous crash reports to both Apple and Adobe but I guess we are just a drop in their ocean and therefore pay just to be hopeless. -

same here with Adobe Illustrator 24.1.3 and OS X 10.15.5:
MacBook Pro (16", 2019) 2,3 GHz 8‑Core Intel Core i9
Catalina 10.15.5
AMD Radeon Pro 5500 4GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MBdisabling GPU support in illustrator helps, but the GUI is then too slow

Are all the issues associated with 16" MBP, dual graphics AMD Radeon Pro 5500M/Intel UHD Graphics 630 config? Wondering if this is the common thread?

Update. v23.1.1 crashed mid work. Contacting Adobe Reps and they are no help. Apple confirmed the computer was fine.

Same issue. Workhorse of a computer (2019 MBPro 16" - highest specs) and Illustrator is crashing and operating slower than it was with my mid 2014 MBPro with no where near the system I currently have. Worked with adobe since CS3 and never had an issue like this. I just moved back to v23.1.1 to see if there is any difference. Still seems slow.
Adobe and Apple need to get on the same page.

Yep — story of my life these days. Adobe apps go down hard every time I step away from my machine.

Agree, please fix. I'm not turning off the Energy Saving feature, Woking to see if turning of GPU in Illustrator helps. I've seen where Adobe points to Apple to fix but its only this one app I have an issue with so it would be nice if Adobe would look in to the issue deeper please.

I updated to Illustrator 2020 a day or two ago. Since then, it repeatedly crashes unexpectedly. Typically when I leave it alone for 20 seconds or more. When I move the mouse I notice that the app has closed no matter how short of a duration I stepped away from the computer. Illustrator 2019 did not have this issue. I'll likely revert back and have to remake the couple files I made today. 2020 just keeps crashing. Not worth it.

Hi,
I have the same problem. When I uncheked GPU performance it fixed but super laggy, performance went down dramtically. It only happens to Illustrator other adobe softwares are ok, at the time photoshop and after effects were on but didn't crash. All of my adobe cc softwares are up to date. Please fix this, I keep losing my work.

I have been having the same issue as well. This is frustrating. 16" Mac and AI is crashing randomly. Do you really have a 16" Macbook to not "reproduce" this issue.

Been plagued by this issue for months.
Frustrating! -

I have very similar specs:
new 16" MacBook Pro, Feb 2020
OS: Catalina 10.15.4
64Gb Ram. 2.4 Gz i9 Processor
AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Illustrator 2020 v24.1Experiencing the exact same crashing scenarios. Ran Adobe CC cleaner tool, wiped all associated files, reinstalled from scratch, but still crashing consistently.
GPU energy save had no effect.
