Can't put objects exactly in the middle of another object
At first I thouht it was an alignment problem, then i looked up to help videos but none of them solves my problem. I want to put a figure for example a square, then I want to put another square to have the exact triangle of that square but it won't let me make another figure exactly in the middle, it always goes left or right but not center. X- Y-coordinates are not aligning
When attempting to align two existing points by typing in an exact measurement for x- y-coordinates, they do not align on screen. When the measurements typed in are the exact same, they are NOT aligning on the screen. This is making it quite difficult to refine shapes.

Join tool still drops selection.
It was reported already and reported as fixed, but in 2018 CC the bug is back, Join tool drops selection every time after it was used not allowing consequent connections without reselecting the whole curve every time.

Troubleshooting with anchor points
While trying to add a new anchor point to an intersection it adds it in another place, some pixels to the left. Basically, it happens whenever I try to use the pen tool. At the same time looks like whenever I move an object it doesn't go exactly where I want it to. Basically, no overlapping or adding anchor point to an existing vector.

Reflect Tool moves rounded corners
AI 21.1
Create a hollow compound path with two rectangles.
Round one of the corners.
Make an off-centre reflection with either tool palette or from Transform menu. The inner path gets reflected but the outer path only gets moved to where it is expected
the 'preview' is correct but when I release the mouse any path having at least one rounded corner gets rotated 90º clockwise.3 votes -
Repeat scale
- Scale an object NON UNIFORMLY using Scale tool.
- Select new object.
- Option-click to choose point of scaling and bring up dialog box.
- The previous NON-UNIFORM scale percentages are displayed, but UNIFORM is highlighted. Clicking the radio button next to NON-UNIFORM simply applies the UNIFORM value to the NON-UNIFORM values.

Snap to Point causes jumping with long Guides
I'm using very long guides to create a custom angled grid, and use Snap to Point to snap paths to intersections of those guides. However, sometimes the Snap to Point causes "jumping", i.e. it tries to snap to the intersection, but when it does, it scrolls the document a tad upwards, and hence goes immediately out of snap. Sometimes it even causes jumps of hundreds of millimeters. It doesn't always happens, but only with some guides intersecting in some points. I cannot really say what actually makes it happen.
I created a test file to where I isolated only three…

You never shared the test file you said you had, so it’s somewhat hard to replicate this. Also a video would be helpful as well.
Can you please try again?

Unable to lock aspect ratio when using the Scale tool
In version 30.1, scaling a graphic with the Scale tool while the aspect ratio is locked no longer works correctly. When holding the Shift key and dragging the mouse at a 45° angle, the graphic snaps back to its original size instead of maintaining proportional scaling. This breaks the previously working workflow for scaling graphics while preserving aspect ratio.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Select a graphic to scale.
- Choose the Scale tool.
- Click and hold the mouse button on the graphic.
- Hold down the Shift key and drag the mouse at a 45° angle.
Observed Result:
The graphic flickers rapidly, alternating between the original and scaled sizes, and ultimately…

Can't add Anchor Point to front object
Illustrator 30.1 on Mac Ventura 13.7.8
I'm trying to add an Anchor Point on a Path (orange) on the front, at the same place where there's an Anchor Point on a Path (black) in the back, but when I approach the (selected) front Path with the Pen, / or * appears instead of + and it either continues the Path below or starts a new Path above.
My only option to add an Anchor Point to the orange Path is to cut it and rejoin it.

Objects on Path tool caushes instant crash
Using a mac mini and v. 30.1 of Illustrator. every single time I use the Objects on Path tool illustrator crashes instantly. It wasn't doing this a couple of days ago. I thought it was because of a new script I downloaded but even after removing it I still have the same issue.

The issue of selecting tools to move lines
In Illustrator, when I select a line and try to move it, the selection is always lost, forcing me to repeatedly select and move it again. This makes the task difficult for me.

Blob Brush doesn't respect "Draw inside" when painting with a color existing outside
I included a picture to explain the problem.
If the user intentionally chooses to draw inside a shape, then that limit should be respected. but instead, if we are painting with a color that exists outside, new strokes merges with the older ones, resulting on the painting escaping the "draw inside" feature.I think that the blob Brush merging should be less aggressive and should respect masks, otherwise it's not intuitive and goes against user input, which qualifies this to be a bug.

Pencil Tool Fidelity setting is either buggy, or something weird is going on.
With Pencil Tool
The most accurate setting (1) produces 44 points in my example.
The next setting (2) produces 10 points.
The following setting (3) produces 17 points.Settings 2 and 3 are in the wrong order.
I wondered why there was such a huge accuracy gap between settings 1 and 2, and then I noticed this.
I’ve attached a sample .ai file.2 votes
