1. Crash on Quit

   Illustrator crashes on quit 4 out of 5 times on my Mac and has for many months and builds. Crash on quit wouldn't be so bad if Illustrator didn't save so many interface and plugin settings on quit. The main crash indicator is below and full log is attached. Currently running illustrator 24.2.3, macOS Catalina 10.15.6. 2019 16" MacBook Pro Radeon Pro 5500M.

3. Switching project tabs fails to update to selected project

   In recent updates, including the June 2020 Illustrator update, tabs fail to switch projects, displaying only the current project for up to 15 seconds before slowly refreshing and switching to the selected open project tab. This happens several times a day and drastically effects productivity. (macOS Catalina 10.15.5, Macbook Pro 16 2019)

4. Illustrator crashes when using certain tools, when macbook goes to sleep, when left on too long, when selecting items (CMD+A)

   Going mad trying to fix this bizzare problem on my new 2019 Macbook pro.

   • Latest version of illustrator (24.1.2)

   -Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4, 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, MD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
   Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

   Since maybe last month, illustrator has been crashing more and more frequently, and at the strangest of times. I have everything almost exactly the same on my 2018 Macbook Pro and Illustrator is totally fine on that one. I can't quite figure out what is going wrong with this laptop.

   For instance:

   -When I hit CMD+A it might crash (this is most recent, crash report linked).

   -Twice last week it crashed when I used type on path tool and altered the orientation (it actually started to spaz out when I started moving the orientation to under the line; This I could repeat with the same outcome)

   -Anytime the computer goes to sleep it will crash.

   -If I'm working with a content-heavy file, it might just crash for no reason.

   So I suspected maybe it was the CPU / GPU switching in my system preferences / energy saver, but turning it off has done nothing. I've completely re-installed illustrator, Creative Cloud, even refreshed my OS and still this problem reoccurs with Illustrator. I am starting to suspect something is not right with the new MBP 16" and Illustrator..

5. Zoom in keyboard shortcut bug

   Since the update to Illustrator v. 24.1 the zoom in keyboard shortcut (cmd +) no longer works. The zoom out function (cmd -) does continue to work. I have the same issue in Adobe Acrobat. Any fixes would be appreciated.

6. Magic mouse 2 poor performance

   OS Catalina - 10.15.3
   Illustrator - 24.0.3
   Imac 2019 - I9 - 40gb ram - 512 ssd - pro vega 48 8gb

   The performance while using the magic mouse 2 is very... very slow and laggy. Just scrolling left to right/up to down using a single finger swipe is choppy, delayed to the point where it is unusable. I am forced to use a different mouse while working within illustrator (my logitech, which works fine). I know there are some features within mac OS like the inertia scrolling that cause problems but when you disable all of the those features performance is still unusable and it sort of takes all of the 'magic' out of the mouse. Photoshop works perfect for me with the magic mouse so I don't understand why illustrator wouldn't.

   OS Catalina - 10.15.3
   Illustrator - 24.0.3

7. too slow and laggy, small edits also end up in not responding or hanging and crashes.

   After the last update (24.0.1) Illustrator is too slow and laggy. Crashes Illustrator consistently with Can't finish previewing, small edits also end up in not responding or hanging and crashes.

8. Since updating to the 2020 version of CC, Illustrator seems to freeze up.

   Freezing. Plus, I'm trying to create a dotted stroke with the stroke panel and my stroke always reverts to a solid line.
   I'm running Windows 10 and just updated it today 12/7/19 and no change.

10. Does 23.1.1. fix the abysmal performance on Mac or no?

    Illustrators performance on Mac as been horrible for the last several versions, has this been fixed yet, or at least an update on why and when you expect to have it fixed?

    We seriously need to have an intervention, you're making Illustrator practically unusable for your paying customers with these 'updates' that seemingly take several steps back each time.

11. Constant crashing, lagging, power drain,

    Illustrator is constantly slow, lagging, crashing, unresponsive, and small files are acting like large files. I have been using Illustrator for 8 years, but now, it is affect my ability to do my job. I am so incredibly disappointed with the performance issues, slow response time, and I dread having to use this program now. The CS6 version was WAY better than this.

    Please adobe, for all of your customers, fix what's broken before adding new features, and 16GB of ram is no where near enough to run this program anymore. 32... maybe.

12. Mouse scrolling

    Mouse wheel scrolling is almost non-responsive.

    Whether I want to scroll up or down, or zoom using the alt key, the mousewheel is almost non-responsive. Only scrolling 1 or 2 frames for every 6-10 mouse wheel scrolls.

    Mouse wheel scroll works fine on Photoshop and Indesign. Only Illustrator presenting this issue

13. Illustrator CC2019 23.0.3 crashes on save ONLY WHEN connected to Internet

    Every time I attempt to save an Illustrator file, it freezes and I get the spinning wheel, to the point where I have to force quit. After I force quit and reopen, all my preferences are reset to default.

    I've attempted saving on Dropbox, iCloud, my external hard drive, and my local hard drive - it all freezes. The only time it doesn't freeze is when I disconnect from the Internet, and at that point I can save literally anywhere I want.

    This happens LITERALLY every single time. I've gotten to a point where whenever I work on Illustrator, I've had to just switch off Internet, which isn't very convenient as you can imagine.

    Specs:
    Illustrator CC 2019 (23.0.3)
    Macbook Pro Retina (15 in., mid-2015)
    macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)
    Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Storage: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

14. Illustrator stops, not responding

    Operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise, Illustrator is CC 2018 or 2019. I begin to work for only 15 sec and then the program pauses with the blue spinning wheel. If I click again the screen shows a (not responding) title at the top and goes grey. This process takes another 15 sec and then snaps back into place and works again, but only for another 15 sec and repeats. I've opened and closed the program several times and also restarted the computer but no change. This only happens in Illustrator and no other CC programs I use. Any ideas would greatly help. Thanks

15. Illustrator and Adobe apps are slow on retina display

    Hi All!

    I have an issue with Illustrator (23.0.2) on my brand new 15" retina Macbook Pro 2018 (latest edition 2,6GHz i7, 16GB ram, RadeonPro 560X).

    I've seen lot of similar issues here, but I would like to say about an interesting thing.

    If I moving around in a document or zoom in/out (simple or complex), it works really slow. If I switch to GPU preview, it's much better, but in CPU preview it's horrible and unusable.

    Bigger problem is that on my previous 13" MacbookPro (2012 mid, 2,9Ghz i7) without dedicated graphics card everything works fine (in CPU and GPU preview as well). Both laptop has the latest Mojave and Illustrator version.

    And the best: if I connect an external display (fullHD) to my new macbook pro, the Illustrator works much better on that screen. But if I move the Illustrator window back to the laptop screen, the issue is coming back again.
    Why?!

    The macbook pro not able to handle the Adobe apps on retina display well? Because I experienced similar problems in Premiere Pro when I'm working on the timeline.

    I bought a very expensive laptop for work, I have full Adobe subscription and I don't understand why I'm here or any other forums?

    I sent an email about these to sharewithai@adobe.com, but I haven't got answer yet.

16. Freezing issue

    Since the 23.0 version Illustrator keeps freezing regularly, up to 3 times in a day's usage. There is no actual pattern that i can point to, just that it keeps doing it at certain time intervals and with certain signs sometimes (like the menus not showing), which are also irregular and i have to use Task Manager to close it and open it again.

17. Illustrator won't let me toggle lock or visibility

    I'm having trouble with adobe illustrator. It won't allow me to use the toggle lock/unlock or the toggle visibility function. I've tried closing and starting the program up again. I've even attempted to work from a different computer. Nothing I have done has helped and the bug always reappears after a few seconds. Is there a way I can correct this bug?

18. Type tool

    Idk about anyone else. But since I updated Illustrator, my Type Tool has been slowing down my computer to the point where it almost crashes whenever I am using the tool. Clicking ANYTHING or highlighting type causes the "spinning ball" to pop up instantly, and sometimes not even highlighting the selection I want!

    Thoughts?

19. Cursor location offset from mouse. Cannot select or use illustrator effectively.

    I am on Creative Cloud version Version 23.0.1. I am having a problem from the moment I open Illustrator that the mouse and cursor do not synchronise. The cursor actually selects something completely offset from what I am trying to select. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, as well as just restarting. Nothing is resetting it to work correctly.

20. Al CC crashing constantly

    I have a brand new Surface Pro 6 with 8Gb of RAM and AI CC is the only program I have put on it, yet the program crashes every time I start using the brush tools. How do I fix this? This new laptop was purchased specifically for me go use AI on and so far I an unable to do so.
