  1. Drag and Drop from Photoshop Not Working

    Illustrator Version 28.3, Photoshop Version 25.5.1

    Attempting to drag and drop a layer from photoshop into illustrator and the object is not appearing in illustrator. I can usually do this with no issues. I've tried rasterizing and making the image a smart object but nothing seems to fix the bug. This has just been an issue within the past 2 days.

  2. Place individual PSD layers into Illustrator as LINKED files like InDesign

    Placing individual psd layers in Illustrator is a joke compared to Indesign.

    When trying to place a linked and layered psd file in Illustrator you get NO 'options' (even when 'options' is selected in the dialogue box when placing/importing.)

    You have to have 'link' turned off in the dialogue box in order to see the 'options' and even then the psd layers just come in as embedded shapes WHICH AREN'T linked but embedded instead. When you then unembed/link them, NEW .psd files are then created instead of linking back to the original .psd files.

  3. Illustrator does not insert images from Telegram by drag&drop

    When I try to drag and drop an image from Telegram into Illustrator, it inserts the text of the temporary file path instead of the image.

    Note that drag&drop from Telegram to Photoshop works correctly. The same method can be used to drag and drop images to the desktop or other applications.

    Mac OS 12.6 (but I have tested it on Windows too)
    Illustrator 26.5 (but also tested with previous versions)

  4. Drag and drop to place file sometimes embeds instead of linking

    When I drag and drop a JPG/PNG/PDF/AI file from Finder into an Illustrator document, it normally drops in as a link. However, sometimes it unexpectedly embeds the artwork instead of linking it. If I try again repeatedly, it continues to embed, so to fix it I have to go to File > Place and ensure that "Link" is selected (which it already is). After that, if I drag-and-drop from Finder again, it links the artwork as expected.

    This issue is seemingly random and I can't figure out exactly how to reproduce it. I always link files (not embed them) when…

  5. PARM error with embedded image

    iMac OS Catalina 10.15.7
    Adobe Illustrator 25.4.1

    I get an PARM error when selecting an embedded image and clicking the "Edición" menu (Edit in spanish).
    After clicking the OK button I can then access all the "Edit" menu options as usual.

    Please fix this annoying behaviour.

  7. Illustrator turning PNG images yellow/purple / inverted

    Running Illustrator 27.4.1 on Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1.

    Having this issue with clear PNGs on Illustrator. The PNGs look okay when placed on the file. Upon re-opening of the file, all of the clear PNGs have turned negative, having a purple filter/yellow background.

  8. On Opening, Illustrator can't read linked files and adds multiple copies of linked images

    On some files, on open, I receive an error regarding linked images and when trying to resolve, Illustrator adds multiple copies of the same linked image without actually fixing the original images. It'll add linked images into locked layers where there were no images.

    This started in version 26.4.1 and have tested with uninstalling newer versions, opening the same files on older versions, and installing newer versions until the issue appears.

    Screenshots attached where it shows it adding in linked images, even on layers that were locked and had no images on save.

  9. The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [PARM]

    Illustrator 25.4.1
    macOS Big Sur 11.5.2

    • Launch Illustrator.
    • New Project.
    • Add shapes, or text.
    • Select all.
    • Rasterize.
    • Click Object to reach Trace.

    Tested on a New Admin User with the same result.
    NVRAM Reset
    Safe Mode
    Recovery Mode/Disk Utility/First Aid
    Tried with different project files and formats (.ai, .pdf) with the same problem.

  10. Raster images should always honor the layer order and transparency values when scaling/moving/rotating

    When moving/rotating/scaling Raster images should always honor the layer order and transparency values.

    With "show images in outline mode" selected, I often drop in low res raster images on the bottom layer and outline them with the pen tool in higher level layers.. problem is the way illustrator handles raster images. If i draw a line on top of a raster image, then attempt to scale that raster image, my line is temporarily hidden while scaling, moving or rotating the raster image, making it nearly impossible to re-align my raster image to match newly drawn vector lines.     When I scale an image I can't select it any more, I can only select it making click on the bounding box.

  12. "Verifying access to ://...."

    I have some problem with a file that has linked images pointing to a drive that I don't have access, nor will.

    Illustrator will open that file, prompt that there is linked files with broken links buy will show the thumbnail data from linked files, and then will show every 2 minutes a annoying popup trying to connect to this remote address.

    There is NO WAY to prevent this from preferences, or from the link panel.

    The popup is really annoying, you need to way a couple of minutes, Illustrator will block everything until you can stop the search.

  13. duplicates all the placed images

    Every time I open a document with images I get an alert about images not found, without having moved them since I saved the document and when I locate them again, when the document is opened all the duplicate images appear, and it places them in the center of the document . I attach a screenshot of how duplicate images appear to me

  14. Illustrator (still) cannot read TIF files.

    When can we remedy this? I cannot open or place a TIF file in Illustrator 27.6.1. The error message is the file is an unknown format and can't be opened.

    There are reports on this page still open from 2021. When will this be fixed?

    I have several TIFs from a museum to lay out for printing and I'm having to individually bring them all in to photoshop and export them as a different format.

  15. EPS color bug

    Adobe illustrator keeps changing the colors of .eps images that I link. Both profiles are set to RGB so that should not be a problem.

  16. rotating and croping causing jagged banding

    Rotating and croping an image leads to an odd banding pattern appearing through the image. This does not occur when clipping using a clipping mask or when only cropped or only rotated.

    Image tracing with the same PNG file is low-fidelity. At different times, the display results have different drawing effects, and become a failed image drawing. Please correct or explain the reason

  20. When relinking a file, the last accessed folder gets opened and not the one that had the link

    We need and option to open the folder containing a linked file when a link is missing or we choose "Relink file", instead of open last folder.
