Calligraphic Brush, Blob Brush appearance anomalies at small brush sizes (1 pt and above)
Illustrator 22.1, though this is extant in all versions I'm familiar with (since at least CS5).
When drawing with a calligraphic brush (and thus also with the blob brush) at small sizes, certain tight curves result in anomalous shapes extending out from the expected area covered by the brush. The screenshot attached is around 15mm across. AI file also attached. Expected result is that the brushed area corresponds to the shape of the calligraphic brush along the whole length of the path.

and with slightly modified stroke we have results like shown in attached printscreens and it is NO good.

Bug is still present in 23.0.6. Please bring back original title of post:

Also, I don't remember specifying '1 pt and above' in the original post. In fact, my original tests were explicitly at sizes below that.

It's definitely better approximation and errors are harder to spot but visible (blue arrow in attachment). Expanding stroke with caligraphic brush gives a shape with lot of self-intersecting. This should be easy to solve. Mentioned intersecting is visible before expanding stroke (red arrow in attachment).

A few Illustrator crashes with the beta, but drawing seems more responsive and the small curves issue appears to be fixed.

Adding flashy stupid new features while an essential thing like this has been broken like foreveeeeer. And then wonder why designers switch to other products. -
