Allow objects to have the same set of properties of After Effects
Many animators prefer to rebuild geometrical shapes made on Ai on AE because it allows full access to the properties. But if AI incorporate the same set of properties from AE, it will be solved.

Package/collect multiple illustrator files at once for sending to printers like "Art Files 3" does.
We currently use Art Files 3 to package multiple ai files at once without having to individually open the illustrator files. With the new Illustrator 2023, Art Files 3 is no longer compatible and they also seem to be out of business. We send anywhere from 3-20 files at once on a regular basis. Working with multiple artboards in one file is not an option. We need to find a subsitute app or a solution that can package miltiple files, fonts and images (both embedded and linked) all at once like Art Files.. We can't use the AI package feature…

Make Intertwine into a tool, available from a tool panel
Objects on Path is a tool, and it creates a dedicated object... and does nothing else! all the operations with this new object are performed using the Selection tool...
Meanwhile, an Intertwine object would need a command, Object > Intertwine > Edit (or a button in the Control panel) to be edited — which just enabled the hidden tool! Make it a real one!5 votes -
Enable continuous work while generating vector graphics
Currently, when generating a vector graphic within Adobe Illustrator, the entire application becomes unresponsive for approximately 30 seconds (or longer, depending on complexity). This forces users to wait idly without being able to continue their work, significantly disrupting workflow, concentration, and productivity.
I request that Adobe implement a background processing feature that would allow users to continue drawing, editing, or performing other tasks within Illustrator while vector graphics are being generated in the background.

Support architectural standards for arrow styles for Dimension tool
When the arrow style #21 is written on a drawing, it is marked inside the dimension extension line. International architectural drawing standards require that the mark be placed at the intersection of the extension line and the dimension line. Please improve this.

Performance
Please make huge improvement in performance. I've been working for prints for years but Ai just keep slowing down every version. Even slower than Photoshop. And the canvas so limited. I could only split my design to 4 sizes to get Ai safely working to prevent hang or not responding and plus rasterized the contents.
How come the actual vector software could not handle so much vector (paths, shapes, etc).
Hope you make a huge breakthrough in development. Couldn't wait!3 votes -
Convert outline text to editable text
I work with a lot of files that come to me with outline text, which I then have to retype from scratch. It would be a really useful feature if outline text could be converted to editable text - could there be some kind of auto-recognition (OCR) of the outline text and generate editable text from this? Built-in OCR?

When pasting into photoshop, masked objects should be defined by / constrain mask size. Objects / pixels outside the mask should be ignored.
When pasting a masked object from AI to Photoshop, the size of the object is determined by everything inside and outside of the mask. It should be determined by the size of the mask only. Photoshop interprets the clipboard size based on the entire object size rather than the masked size. The result is that the desired final cropped artwork is pasted pasted too small.
I believe this is a bug or design error. I am pretty sure much (much!) older versions of AI didnt do this.
I dont know of a scenario where the current action would be desirable.…3 votes -
Ability to import from Adobe Draw on iPad as a path/line and not a filled shape.
Quite an essential thing to be able to export sketches from Adobe Draw as STROKES (editable paths/lines) instead of a filled shape, which is not readily editable in AI.

Convert embedded images between different formats/compression schemes...
Currently, if I embed an image as a TIF, the resulting AI file will be larger than if I embed the same image as a JPEG. It would be nice if I could convert embedded images between file formats and have control over compression methods / levels so that I could convert the embedded TIF to something lighter in size such as a JPEG - all from within illustrator.

Tapered basic brush
The current basic brush does not allow the user to use it. if you want a basic line with flat ends you would need ot create it as a new brush or use other tools. But a basic line for the brush tool with tapered edges. Or at atleast the same exact basic brush. just with the option to change the porametors.

Allow to move panels between displays all at once easily
When using multiple displays, if I use Illustrator on one screen and move it to the other, my panels like Character, Paragraph, Layers etc. (small windows) don't move with the program to the next display. Even if the program is closed and opened they don't move to the correct screen that the program is now opened at. Please fix this. It's especially frustrating when using Ps, Ai, InD and all of the panels can’t be consolidated for their respected program at the click of a mouse.

Add Transform Again Individually / Transform Sequence Again / Sequence Again Individually commands, as in InDesign
Illustrator has Transform Again command (and it’s rather useful), but InDesign has three additional commands:
Transform Again Individually:
Applies the last single transform operation to each selected object individually, rather than as a group.Transform Sequence Again:
Applies the last sequence of transform operations to the selection.Transform Sequence Again Individually:

Make the Initial Welcome screen have a link to Templates in addition to, being able to see a thumbnail as with .ai files

Be able to create a finished vector repeat tile from Pattern Editing Mode.
Currently, the only way for a designer to get a final tile from a repeat pattern created in pattern mode is a clunky workaround involving dragging the fill swatch art from the swatches panel to the artboard and then working with the bounding shape to create a cropped, repeatable tile for export. We need a button to click inside pattern mode that creates a tile from the artwork inside pattern mode that is perfectly cropped (could be a clipping mask) but will retain all the live content that typically gets expanded when you exit pattern mode. Issue transferring dwg file to Temp folder
Is there any possibility in Ai, when we export or run the script on the Ai file and we get only dwg file without that png (bitmap image) so that we can add only dwg file in Temp folder and it will get convert into .svg file.

Type number of sides for polygon tool and star tool
Currently to get a number of points on a star you have to type the [up key] or [down key] But often I know what number of points or sides I want on the polygon or star.
I'd like the ability to type the number of sides/points.
This could be achieved in a number of ways:
- An option panel (could change it after the fact as long as it is selected as long as the points haven't been moved?)
- hold and drag and type the number (say 3, 6, 9, etc)

Update packaged contents
To be able to PACKAGE a file and it's contents/fonts is obviously essential, however - this should not be a end to a means. Once you package you file, and then have to make changes to the file you had open (this happens a lot), the PACKAGED contents is now out of date. Could be just the .ai, or .ai and links and fonts.
Once you've PACKAGED once, there should be an UPDATE PACKAGE function. This should also be implemented in InDesign and Photoshop.
