1. Can't add EPS files to Creative Cloud libraries

   Illustrator CC v. 22.1
   Mac OS High Sierra v. 10.13.4

   When attempting to add an EPS file to a Creative Cloud library (click and drag from Mac finder to open library panel in Illustrator), the library panel indicates that I am "adding multiple files" and when I release the mouse button I get the error message that "bulk uploads are not supported in this file format" (see screenshot attached).

   Currently, it seems the only workaround we have is to place the vector artwork inside an InDesign document, and then drag and drop into the library from there. However, my organization uses EPS files as part of our regular production work flow, and it would be very helpful if we could add these to our libraries directly from our Finder window.

2. Link Actions together

   I use actions a lot to set up files for different products. Using Multiple different actions one after each other depending on specifics of the job.

   I'd like to see a way to add a step that would link certain actions together, so that at the end of one action, I could have a window pop up giving me options to run other actions.

   For example:
   1. I play Action 1
   2. The last step of Action 1 is a dialog box with the options to play Action 2 or Action 3 or Stop
   3. I click on Action 3 to play that action, then the last step of Action 3 is another dialog box with options to run selection of actions.

   This way I can build action sets to allow for more automated set up for my prepress staff.

3. Fix bugs and add requested features

   Instead of adding new features that nobody has really asked for, how about using resources to add the features ACTUALLY REQUESTED HERE and fix the bugs WIDELY REPORTED HERE?

4. flip horizontal and flip vertical from contextual menu

   Please add "flip vertical" and "flip horizontal" to the "Transform..." contextual menu pop-up in Illustrator. We have this function in Animate already. It would improve workflow and is something that should be relatively easy to program. Thank you for all your hard work improving Illustrator.

   It is possible to do in Illustrator as well — not in Preferences, but in File > Document Setup dialog (Cmd/Ctrl + Alt +P) — because these settings are local for a document and not global. Same exact controls.

6. Put eyedroppers on every color selection menu.

   I keep getting the request from my students that they want to use colors from their existing project. In color, color guide, color themes, gradient color menu, there's no good way to grab a specific color from the art boards. Putting eyedroppers on ALL the color sub menus would make it so convenient to grab the color of someones eye, various colors in existing blends. For example, if a student wanted to make a gradient of two different colors from her eye, she could not do so simply. Currently the eyedropper only appears to hover over a one inch rgb color bar. Or if I want to change the color of a swatch from yellow pintuck plaid to be more red to match one of the colors in the sunset, it would take a great deal of back and forth, rather that just scrolling over the image I have in front of me.

7. Keyboard shortcut to switch between colour panels (RGB/HSB)

   I use both the HSB and the RGB colour panels all the time. To switch between them, the user currently has to select from the options menu or shift-click multiple times to cycle through.

   What would be really great is to be able to assign shortcuts to specific colour panels.

8. Adobe have to improve the SVG exportation tool

   Adobe have to improve the SVG tool, because we need to create new document to be able export SVG CODE directly from Illustrator file...
   Will be better, if we colect files to export, and on this function, be able to export not just SVG file, but also the SVG code, to use diretly on CSS and HTML.
   Will be a great help to web designers.

9. Make the new "Properties" panel optional.

   The idea of the properties panel is nice, but it should be customizable. For example, the four pathfinder tools that come up when more than one object is selected aren't the main four that I use, so it would be nice to be able to switch out the default four that pop up.

   It would also be nice if there were a way to not use the new properties panel, and be able to switch in the windows drop down menu to using the old properties panel that is in the top bar across the screen. I don't love the new properties panel from the stand point that it takes away so much of my screen. Most of the time, the entire bottom half of the properties panel is empty. I'd rather just lose a little of the view of my workspace with the thin bar across the top of my screen how it used to be, as opposed to how it is now where I gain just a little more of a view without the bar on the top, but lose so much of the meat of the width of my workspace.

   Maybe I just haven't played around with this enough, but as soon as I saw this is how it worked, and couldn't figure our a way around it, I was instantly frustrated. If I wanted to use this kind of interface, I would just go use sketch or try out XD. But i feel like illustrator should say the way it is. If its not broke, don't fix it.

   Hi,

   If you want to switch the older control panel you can do that in 2 ways:
   1. Go to Window > Control and the control panel will be shown.
   2. Go to Workspaces and switch to Essential Classic, this will also show the Control panel on the top.

    There is a keyboard shortcut to go to any other windows option except this.. I don't know if it is because it is a new feature, but this should really be implemented... Can there be a mappable keyboard shortcut for the new properties panel on illustrator

    You can assign a custom hotkey for Properties panel in the Menu Commands section of the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog in the latest Ai versions

11. Allow to quickly define new custom arrowheads

    I use custom arrow heads for a lot of projects and would like an easier interface for creating and managing custom arrow heads. I want to be able to rearrange the order of the arrow heads available as well as have fine grained control over how the arrow head will scale with stroke size. Non-symmetrical arrow head support is important to my work as well.

    Also, I really want to be able to place an arrow head at one end of a path at the tip and have the arrow head at the other end extend beyond the end of the path.

12. Add CAD path creation/modification tools

    Some wonderful tools that would help are Trim, Extend, and Corner tools.

    Trim allows you to stop a line at another line. So if you drew a + you could trim the top to the - and make a T.

    Extend does the opposite. It makes a line longer until it hits a target line. It turns |- into a T (rotated).

    Corner tool trims or extends two lines as need to make a corner. |- becomes L by clicking both lines.

    Look to AutoCad or Revit for examples.

13. Ability to customize menu bar commands (hide, as in Photoshop) and reorder

    You've added all sorts of stuff to Ai menu that I don't use.
    Let us remove Bridge, Stock icons, GPU from topmenu.

    I'd love to edit the left toolbar as well.

14. Square wave / zig-zag live effect

    Gears. Crenelations on castles. Zippers. These are a few things whose border can be described by a square wave. Or by a rectangular wave.

    But you can't do this easily in Illustrator. Oh, you can add a dotted line to a shape - but that's an awkward workaround. How about a new live effect?

    effect->distort & transform->crenelation would bring up a new live effect where you can apply square waves to whatever object you're affecting.

    Suggested parameters:

    • size - similar to the size parameter in roughen/zigzag, this would control how far the generated path deviates from the original path
    • pulse width - a slider to control the relative lengths of deviations to one side versus the other
    • possibly something to induce a slow change in the pulse width as we progress along the path
    • possibly an option to randomize the pulse width
    • the usual smooth/curve point options that roughen and zig-zag have

15. Select objects to then apply auto selection criteria

    Once objects are selected apply the auto select criteria such as "same fill color" or "same outline". If this is possible, I can't figure out how to do it. I can only choose to select all of the items of a single color, because I have items already selected. Also, it would be great for quotes to be able to get a quick total of the number of items selected. Is this information listed somewhere on screen that I've never noticed?

16. Opening Multi-Page PDFs should have a larger preview or scalable preview

    The Open PDF window box that comes up when you try to open a Multi-Page PDF should have a larger preview. In the Open PDF window much of the text can be garbled, which doesn't help if you are not sure which page of a 49 page document you need to open.

17. An option to affect fonts that are hidden or locked with Find/Replace

    When finding lost fonts or replacing fonts can you PLEASE let AI change/replace fonts that are hidden or on a locked layer. Or at least give us an option to.

18. Restrict Pan to work only Horizontally / Vertically with a Shift modifier

    I'd love if there was a key we could hold down to restrict the hand tool to only pan perfectly vertical or horizontal. Would make it easier to develop for web — you could quickly get a sense of how a site would work when the user scrolls.

20. Global Edit should allow searching within current and chosen artboards

    Global Edit have some options to limit searching with artboards and/or canvas... but the choices are rather odd: Portrait, Landscape, Square and All.

    It’s strange though we can’t limit it to the current artboard... or some chosen artboards, even though today the selection of artboards on canvas is allowed within the scope of the Artboard tool — but I’ll take the field to put numbers, or selecting artboards in the Artboards panel!
