Type Box fills with x's
When I choose the Type Box tool, and click in the document to create a Type Box or simply place text, as soon as the box is created, it fills with X's/squares and goes off on it's own continually typing the X/square.
At that point I am not touching the keyboard, there is no key being held down, yet it seems to be "stuck" in creating the X/square.
Initially it only happened with Myriad Pro, so I uninstalled that font. Then it continued to do it with Arial. Now it does it, no matter what. I've un-installed Illustrator and re-installed…

Editing text in Illustrator 2019 is so difficult -- there's a heavy lag, and it is incredibly frustrating. This is size 12 font, small file -- there is no reason why editing this text should be lagging, and I've noticed others having the same problem. Please fix this ASAP!

spell check english
My Illustrator is set to default language English USA but it always does spell check in Spanish. I make sure that it is checked for English in the character tab, but even after changing it to English, my spell check goes back to Spanish. I am running Illustrator CC 2019, 23.0

Text Objects become unresponsive
I'm encountering an issue where text objects will become unresponsive to direct selection. They behave like they have been locked but they haven't been, and using unlock all does nothing. The only way I've found to move them is by doing a broad drag select and gathering up multiple text objects at once. This will sometimes cause the text object to display it's bounding box. At this point I can deselect each of the other objects that were selected along with it and be left with just the problem object. Trying to move the object with the cursor will put…

Font drop down doesn't work on CS6 all of the sudden
I have Windows 10 and Illustrator CS6. Worked great until a couple weeks back.
The font drop down does not work at all. Not in character map, not in type>fonts.
I unisntalled Illustrator CS6, Re-downloaded the file from Adobe, re-installed. nothing
I uninstalled windows 10 updates for 2 months... nothing...

Adobe Fonts dont sync properly with Typekits fonts purchased.
My synced fonts don't show up in Illustrator. These are fonts that have been syncs for months. Restarting Illustrator does nothing. Unsyncing and resyncing fonts on Typekit does nothing

Text size is not the same size as I set it
How do I get illustrator cc 18 which I pay per month for, to apply text size the same size on the monitor as I pick in the layout?? If I put in for instance .50 size text it will be approx. .375 on the monitor or my layout. This is aggravating. It is something I am doing wrong or HOW DO I CORRECT THIS SO IT WILL BE THE SAME SIZE AS I CHOOSE. THANKS Jerry L. Evans Kokomo, Indiana. Missing Font On Documents That Were Just Open
I have been having issues with fonts dropping out of coworkers documents since I updated to CC2018 but this is the first time I have reopened one of my own files and had font claim to be missing that I was just using.
I had assumed previously that my coworkers had just had a different named version of the fonts but today I saved and closed one of my own files to restart my pc because AI was running slowly (separate issue, i know) but when i reopened my file 10 minutes later I have 6 fonts missing.

Problem selecting Text Area background with direct selection
Illustrator CC 2018
Windows 10When I want to select the background of a Text Area with the direct selection tool (white arrow), I can only do so by clicking on the edge or half a pixel inside it, or it will select the text (unless there's free space under the text, which doesn't happen if you the block is automatically resized).
I have checked on Mac, you can click anywhere inside the box where there is no text (eg the end of any line if text aligned is left) to select the background.

When snap to grid is on, it will only create new text. It won't select existing text for editing - probably because it isn't on the grid. This never used to happen before the latest update.

editing type creates a new box of type
When editing type clicking on other part of the sentence creates a new box of type instead of putting the cursor in the place I will like to edit.

Illustrator 2018 Loses ability to keep text uniform when transforming the type on path
Illustrator 2017 had the ability to, while transforming the type on the path shape, to keep the text on it the same size and proportions when doing so. I would select the path with direct selection tool, then hit command, and text would stay uniform when transforming path.
Now, in illustrator 2018, using same steps and command, type doesn't stay uniform, it gets squished.

Fonts Slow EVERYTHING Down
Fonts are the slowest feature in programs from MS Office to Adobe. This problem just caused me to lose work because AI shut down while trying to figure out how to manage a standard font with which I was working. Thanks for nothing AI and your simpleton font generators. You're fired.

"Load paragraph styles" or "Load all styles" doesn't overwrite styles with same name
I have a set of 9 template files that I need to update. Each file contains an identical set of about a dozen paragraph styles. I want to update all the paragraph styles in all of the files.
I updated the styles in the first file (correctstyles.ai) and changed kerning from Auto to Optical. When I open the next file, (e.g. SHED-2023-5-simple-columns-narrow.ai), I use "Load Para Styles" and choose the first file (correctstyles.ai). Eyedropper DOES NOT CONSIDER COLOR EXCLUSION for TEXTS MULTICOLOR
Eyedropper tool between two text boxes with mixed color letters. How to copy ONLY text attributes leaving the colors unchanged.
Even by deselecting fill color and stroke color in the eyedropper detection and eyedropper application boxes, the color of the destination text becomes unique depending on which is pressed as the source and the letters do not remain colored differently.

6pt font -> hair space is a sixth of em-dash
10pt font -> hair space is a tenth of em-dash
