1. Switching project tabs fails to update to selected project

   In recent updates, including the June 2020 Illustrator update, tabs fail to switch projects, displaying only the current project for up to 15 seconds before slowly refreshing and switching to the selected open project tab. This happens several times a day and drastically effects productivity. (macOS Catalina 10.15.5, Macbook Pro 16 2019)

3. Not enough memory (RAM), cant apply 3D effect

   hello. every time i open a particular illustrator file, it says i dont have enough memory (RAM), and it doesn't respond when i try to apply 3D effect. please advise.

4. Cannot view New Files

   • Using MacOSX 10.15.5 (19F101), Newest version of Illustrator CC
   • Open existing file file, create new file
   • EXPECTED: A new file gets created and I can see the artboard and work within the file
   • ACTUAL: A new tab opens with "Untitled" but cannot toggle to the new tab, and when attempting to break the new document out of tabs and input any objects (text, shapes, lines, or paste) into the "New" document, it creates/pastes into the first document opened, not the New one I created. Cannot manipulate any "New" document in any capacity with Illustrator, Photoshop, or Indesign (only ones I've tried on this Mac) as they all have the same bug, rendering the programs nearly useless.

   Need this fixed ASAP!

5. program freezes on layer reorganizing and moving shapes 24.1.3

   Using a Wacom Intuos M running drivers v. 6.3.39-1

   When using computer's trackpad or drawing tablet I have encountered problems that render the program unresponsive.

   As I re-order layers in the layers panel and I when move simple shapes or groups of shapes across the artboard, the action is not performed. When hovering the cursor anywhere in the interface I see a circle with a strike through it, program is essentially frozen. I have been able to use the escape key to get function back but other times I've been compelled to force quit the program

6. Crashing and not recovering when laptop sleeps

   HP ZBook Studio G5
   Intel i7 8th Gen
   Running Windows 10 Pro
   Creative Cloud completely updated, including AI

   Any time I have an open file and leave the laptop for a few min, it seems to crash AI and will not recover any files, so I have to recreate files quite often.

7. Illustrator crashes on Macbook Air Mojave

   Illustrator crashes frequently - generally after 20 minutes of use. Most frequently when I'm using pen tool do draw qith bezier curves. First the background desktop goes black, then menu items dissappear, then it freezes and goes entirely black. 2015 Macbook Air on Mojave -

8. Performance on MacOS

   Currently MacOS version still slow, zooming slow , it's memory hog. it need to use Apple Metal GPU API. Illustrator is heavy. They need to improve the performance. Listen to the users.

11. Illustrator crashes when using certain tools, when macbook goes to sleep, when left on too long, when selecting items (CMD+A)

    Going mad trying to fix this bizzare problem on my new 2019 Macbook pro.

    • Latest version of illustrator (24.1.2)

    -Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4, 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4, MD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB
    Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

    Since maybe last month, illustrator has been crashing more and more frequently, and at the strangest of times. I have everything almost exactly the same on my 2018 Macbook Pro and Illustrator is totally fine on that one. I can't quite figure out what is going wrong with this laptop.

    For instance:

    -When I hit CMD+A it might crash (this is most recent, crash report linked).

    -Twice last week it crashed when I used type on path tool and altered the orientation (it actually started to spaz out when I started moving the orientation to under the line; This I could repeat with the same outcome)

    -Anytime the computer goes to sleep it will crash.

    -If I'm working with a content-heavy file, it might just crash for no reason.

    So I suspected maybe it was the CPU / GPU switching in my system preferences / energy saver, but turning it off has done nothing. I've completely re-installed illustrator, Creative Cloud, even refreshed my OS and still this problem reoccurs with Illustrator. I am starting to suspect something is not right with the new MBP 16" and Illustrator..

    Adobe Illustrator cc 2020 is randomly crashing, even if I'm not using it. It's happening at least a couple times a day. I'm using the last version of Catalina in my mac.

13. Illustrator 2019, 2020 keeps crashing on a new MacBook Pro, Catalina OS10.15.4. Always crashes after computer sleep

    I just got a new MacBook Pro to replace an 11 YO iMac on which I was using Illustrator CS6. I had to switch to CC Illustrator. It crashes (about 8 times today alone)--almost always if I put computer to sleep with Illustrator open, but sometimes during work

14. Actions don't work with function keys in Illustrator 2020

    In CS6 the function keys worked fine to invoke actions. In Illustrator CC 2020 the function keys operate as Mac function keys but can't be used to invoke an action. For example, I have Shift + F3 programmed in AI to save a file as .PNG to the current disk. I know the action does what it should because when I double-click it in the Actions menu it works fine. When I press shift+F3, I get the multi-file window, which is the native Mac keyboard function for F3. It's as if the programmers forgot to override the Mac function keys and use them instead for Illustrator. PLEASE FIX!!! I just converted from CS6, where the function keys worked fine with actions.

15. Adobe Illustrator 2020 (24.1.2)-The latest updated version KEEPS CRASHING on MacOS Mojave

    Hi
    I'm having crashing issues with the simplest movements like dragging, changing the type sizes, accidentally double-clicking etc.
    First the screen freezes.
    Later everything goes blank/my screen sometimes goes full black and forced shutdown follows.
    I'm using Macbook Air - MacOs Mojave version 10.14.6. (1.6 GHz Intel Core i5/ 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3).
    This is happening every time I open up AI without exception.
    Note: When I started my computer in safe mode-AI is working normally.
    What should we do?

16. Measuring/positioning elements improperly includes shadow/effects

    It used to be that when you selected an object/element with a drop-shadow (or other effect), the measurements did NOT include the drop-shadow. HOWEVER, now they do and it's causing me lose-my-mind!!! To measure and or position ANYTHING correctly, you have to first turn-off the shadow (in the Appearance panel) then position/measure and THEN turn-on the drop-shadow!!! Seriously, this is an enormous time-waster. PLEASE, allow us to turn off the function where everything is measured-and-positioned by it's drop-shadow. PLEASE

17. Cannot open Illustrator after updating to version 24.1.2. Windows 7 reports an error "missing VCRUNTIME140_1.dll". (The 24.1.1 is ok)
