Color Settings Auto Defaulting
When you open up a file in the new Illustrator 2019 it automatically defaults your document to have "Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6.0". You can change your color settings to what you want, in my case I use "North American General Purpose 2". But when you click into a different application, ex. Internet, Photoshop, anything; your file changes your color setting back to "Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6.0". This is extremely frustrating and annoying. Please fix.
We have a fix available and you should not have this issue if you have the following version of these Creative Cloud applications
Please update to:
- Illustrator (23.0.1)
- Photoshop (20.0.1)
- InDesign (14.0.1)
- Bridge (9.0.1)
Please refer below for an issue with recent version 25.2.1 – https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/42892902-illustrator-v25-2-1-color-profile-keeps-changing-t

Ditto, all my colors are distorted and sometimes manually changing the file color settings does not fix them!

Yes please fix. Same issue here. Not much fun to print when colours are getting off! I will start using the 23.0 version when you fix all the issues. I'm reverting back to 2017 version. You shouldn't charge monthly for something that isn't working. Please test your programs before you release them to the world!

I've uninstalled all the 2019 packages for now, as I found loads of problems with them, and I do not currently have the time to correct everything! So disappointing.

Something must be wrong with other update features. Today I draw a vetor and suddenly the screen switch to path sight. I cant get back to view at GPU.
I dont know how often I close and open Illustrator after Update to 2019 :( -

YES this keeps happening to me and first I was insulted by our IT guy for not being a "well-versed" designer as he put it, so now I am trying to figure out how to fix this on my own.

I just updated the other day and have been having a bunch of problems, namely the colour settings. It keeps resetting itself to "Emulate Adobe 6.0" which makes the colours look washed out. When I reset it to my preferred setting, it changes when the application is minimized or when switching between other adobe programs. I tried setting it in Bridge to no effect.

My Illustrator 2019 was doing this even when Bridge was uninstalled; I installed Bridge in an effort to fix the problem but it didn't work.

Until they fix it, i just uninstalled Bridge. Fixed my problem. Fortunately i don't use Bridge except to sync settings so it was OK.
I tried a new custom profile, deleting the ACEConfigCache2.lst file, etc. Nothing worked but uninstalling Bridge. Illustrator and Photoshop are still keeping my profile so it is working for now. -

This is not quite about color synching; regardless, your question is answered another string: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2547532

Colour settings keep reverting to 'Emulate Adobe 6.0' and the colours are showing up way off. For example, bright blues are presenting as violet. When I switch the colour settings to "North America General Purpose 2" everything is corrected - but the moment I minimize the application to use Photoshop or Indesign, the profile reverts back to 'Emulate Adobe 6.0.' Restarting the program doesn't seem to do anything, and neither does saving the settings in Bridge. Very frustrating, as I use many different Creative Cloud applications all day long for work.

John Gettler's recommendation to remove ACEConfigCache2.lst from /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Color worked for me.

Yep.. I'm getting the same thing. Also it's not retaining the printer resolution selection in the print dialogue box. I have options for 168/600 dpi and 212/1200 dpi - I print with the later, but it keeps reverting to the 600dpi setting.

The solution or workaround to get working again is to trash this color preference file:
This file:
ACEConfigCache2.lstLocated:
/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/Adobe/ColorYou won't see the Library folder since it is hidden. To go into it choose Go to Folder... from the Go, Menu, and type in "Library" once you are in the yourusername folder.

Same here:
macOS 10.14
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4096 MBThe issue was only happening in Illustrator. I created a new, custom profile (based on North American General Purpose 2) and selected that profile in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Bridge. Things seem to cooperating... for now.
