1. Save as opens an empty window

2. Saving a PDF with All Printer’s Marks only works twice

   Hello,
   I'm using version 30.0 on a PC.

   I need to save my files for printing as PDFs with crop marks. When I check the "All Printer’s Marks" option and save as a PDF, it works the first time, but the second time, and always on the third, I get an error message. This error message says, "This document was saved successfully, but an error occurred after saving. Close and then reopen the document."
   I then have to close Illustrator and reopen everything, giving me two opportunities to save new PDF documents with print marks. Then, on the third document, the same thing happens again; I have to close Illustrator, and so on.

   This is a very annoying problem for my work. Am I the only one experiencing this? I didn't have this problem in previous versions. It must be a bug.

3. A temporary file is generated every time you save 保存する度にテンポラリーファイルが生成されて

4. The Default File Location option (local or cloud) is missing in Preferences > File Handling

   Whenever we install Illustrator anew and try to save a document for the first time, we are given a choice — to save into Cloud or save locally. The default choices is Cloud and 'Don’t show again is checked) — Adobe actively wants users to use their system, I get it. However, if one makes a mistake and wants to alter this choice later — they can’t do it anymore.

   At some point we had this option exposed in Preferences > File Handling, but later it started to randomly disappear for users, with the same build used. The support can offer nothing but to reset Preferences, but it never helps to make it appear back. The blank spot is there, but the option is gone.

   We, however, can toggle it with a script, with a single line:
   app.preferences.setBooleanPreference ("AdobeSaveAsCloudDocumentPreference",false);

   or go to the 'Adobe Illustrator Prefs' file and set this key to zero:
   /AdobeSaveAsCloudDocumentPreference 0

   So the option exists, it just doesn’t get exposed.
   I personally think it’s a trap. I think Adobe lures users to use the Cloud. I think this perfectly fits the 'Adobe uses shady practices' and whatever the team can say in response (except for 'It is now fixed' with the users proving it is) I will treat as fueling these practices.

5. I can't save anything in Illustrator in SVG format

   I tested save any object in Illustrator in format SVG, but after many minutes Illustrator shows a window saying it can't save because of the mistake problem. I tested in the last version and the previous version, I cant save in SVG, I need this...

6. Updating the Share for Review link uses the previously saved version

   When attempting to update the Share for Review link of a file, Illustrator updates the review link with a previously saved file instead of the most recent version of the current file being worked on.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Open File A in Adobe Illustrator.
   2. Save File A and create a Share for Review link.
   3. Open File B (or another Illustrator file).
   4. Make changes to File B and save it.
   5. Click Share for Review and choose Update Link.

   Expected Result:
   The Share for Review link should update the review link for File B.

   Actual Result:
   The Share for Review link updates the review link of last file that was previously saved and shared for review (e.g., File A), instead of the current file (File B).

   When attempting to update the Share for Review link of a file, Illustrator updates the review link with a previously saved file instead of the most recent version of the current file being worked on.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   1. Open File A in Adobe Illustrator.

7. UI freezes when clicking Save file with multiple artworks, no recovery files, version 30.0 on Tahoe 26.1

   This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!
   As soon as you click save, the UI freezes, and doesn't allow you to save.
   After clicking the task manager in order to restart the app, the file doesn't show up in the recovered files. NOTHING!
   It is the worse version of Illustrator EVER. I was contemplating going back to the LTS version, but we have already done too much work in this newer version, and are certain that when we open those files, in the OLDER (But better) version, there will be issues, we saw it already in a few files, where the file is flat and not editable.. What can we do?

   This new 30.0 update is terrible, my team has lost countless hours!

8. Export for Screens won’t export artboards as a single file

   When a document has multiple artboards and is exported as PDF using Export for Screens, although all artboards are selected and a Single File option is checked, it will still be exported as multiple files.

9. JPEGs cannot open in Whatsapp

   The File > Export > Export as > JPEG/JPG produces files that cannot be opened in the latest WhatsApp. When opened, a popup will appear saying "This file was sent in an unusual format, which may indicate that this file is malicious, corrupted, or not supported by WhatsApp. For security reasons, this file cannot be opened.

10. BUG: Settings for number of decimals in SVG exports resets after restarting Illustrator

    Illustrator isn’t saving the number of decimals that has been changed in the "Save as..." and "Export as..." dialog boxes. When quitting Illustrator, the value resets to 1, which isn’t an ideal default setting.

    Steps to reproduce:

    1. Create a new file in Illustrator.
    2. Open "Export as..."
    3. Select "SVG (SVG)" as the file format.
    4. Change the number of decimals to a value other than 1.
    5. Click OK to export the file.
    6. Quit and reopen Illustrator.
    7. When you open the Export dialog again, the value for Number of Decimals is reset to 1.

    Expected behavior:

    The last used value for the number of decimals should remain as the preset.

    I am using Illustrator 30.0 on macOS 15.7 (24G222).

    By the way: A default setting of 1 for the number of decimals is the worst preset.

11. "Use Artboards" unchecked and still exporting artboards for SVG files

    For PNG files, artboard is exported on first save, then saves correctly on the second attempt for whatever reason. Not so lucky with SVG. Having to manually export each one, open in a new window, crop the artboard, repeat...

14. SVG import bug: SVG parser is (incorrectly) dependent on <defs> order

    The SVG spec recommends but does not require <defs> appear at the top of the document (before elements that use them).

    This SVG, from the MDN patterns page, imports visually to Illustrator (albeit incorrectly):

15. Illustrator 2026 (30.0) saved files contain a large amount of blank space.

    OS: windows 21H2
    Adobe Illustrator 2026 (30.0) (desktop)

    In Adobe Illustrator 2026 (version 30.0), files saved with default settings are significantly larger than those from the previous version. Before saving, the action “Delete Unused Panel Items” is executed to remove all unnecessary elements (the Save Options panel as Figure 1).
    A comparison of file sizes with version 29 (with identical content, Figure 2) confirms this increase. When the file is opened as a text document (Figure 3), it reveals a substantial amount of whitespace.

16. Illustrator deletes macOS tags when file is stored on an SMB Synology server

    When I save an existing document on an SMB Synology server Illustrator removes/deletes the macOS tags assigned to the file.

    macOS 26.0.1, Illustrator 30.0, tested on SMB server: Windows 2019 and Synology.

18. Selected an object in a bottom layer makes it render on top when exporting to TIFF

    When exporting to TIFF(doesn't happen when exporting to PNG), if I have text selected at the time, it appears at the front, when there should be layers above. I have attached a sample Illustrator file and resultant TIFF.

19. Cloud saving only works after creating a project

    Operating System: Windows 11 Home, Version 25H2 (Build 26200.7171)
    Illustrator Version: 30.0 (64-bit)

    Steps to reproduce:
    When trying to save a new file as a Cloud Document, the “Save” button remains greyed out.
    I am correctly signed in to my Adobe account and can open existing Cloud files without issues.
    However, Illustrator will not allow saving to the Cloud unless I first manually create a new Project folder.

    Expected result:
    Saving directly to “Your Files” in the Creative Cloud should work without having to create a project.

    Actual result:
    No valid Cloud location is detected until a new project is created manually.
    After creating a project, the file can be saved normally.

    Workaround:
    Create a new project folder

20. SVG Precision and options are reset on every launch of IL. Add a place in IL preferences allowing users to permanently set SVG precision.

    I've gone over this problem in detail on the forums here:

    Illustrator's precision for saving out SVG files has a default of 1 decimal place. This can cause severe path distortion and rounding errors in the resulting file if you simply save it with CTRL+S.

    This precision setting is reset to 1 after closing and re-opening Illustrator no matter what settings you have applied in the past. To rectify this, you have to:

    1. FIRST select "Save As..."
    2. Choose SVG as your format.
    3. Click save and wait for the SVG options dialog to appear.
    4. Change the precision value from 1 decimal place to something like 5-6.

    If you don't do this, any SVG you open and save (even if no edit was made) will likely end up malformed.

    You can replicate this by opening a SVG, nudging it maybe a pixel or two, and then saving it with ctrl+s. Re-open the file and then observe the obvious distortions and rounding errors.

    Right now, as it stands, It's so easy to corrupt any icons you might be working on if you are making changes from SVG to SVG.

    All you have to do is make a small modification, hit CTRL+S, and then ... boom! Your file is now instantly corrupted and rounding errors distort your paths.

    Here is an example.

    I urgently request that Adobe does something about this, such as letting users define their default save options somewhere in the preferences so that this sticks permanently. Right now, precision is reset to 1 decimal place on every launch of the application.

    Please add an "Export Options" section to the application preferences, or a menu item that allows us to set a default SVG export profile.

    I beg that someone on the team incorporates an option to fix this!
