1. Saving as PDF loses all artwork outside of artboard - THIS HAS TO BE FIXED

   For 15 years I have never had an issue saving files as PDFs. I have always used the save as Smallest File Size PDF option, I do a lot of large format printing so this is necessary in order to rip files in a timely manner to the printer. Now when I save a pdf all my artwork that's outside the artboard disappears, hours upon hours of artwork just gone, no warning. Its bad enough there is no longer a way to purchase the software so having to pay monthly and the constant terrible updates are ruining me and my business. Please fix this back to way it used to be. My artwork outside the artboard should not disappear.

2. L'Importation ne fonctionne pas correctement depuis la mise a jour a illustrator 2025

   Bonjour, Depuis le passage a illustrator 29.5 la fonctionne d'importation depuis le menu Fichier ne fonctionne pas correctement : un grand cadre apparait apres validation de l'importation mais l'objet importé n'apparait pas !!!

   Seule solution : faire un drag and drop depuis l'explorateur !! Une catastrophe !

   Merci de la résolution rapide de ce problème critique.

3. Stop remembering my last save as file type!!!

   I've used Illustrator for decades, and the only file type that a new document should be saved as is an .AI file. For the love of God, please go back to .AI or allow me to choose .AI as my default file type!!!

   We have fixed this issue in latest version of Illustrator - v29.8.1

   Please update your Adobe Illustrator and let us know your observations.

4. Elements placed on top of a Dynamic Symbol disappear when exported as JPEG

   Any element placed on top of a dynamic symbol looks hidden behind the symbol when exported as JPEG.
   Works in 2023, stopped working in 2024 version 28.5

   Seems like it’s been fixed and doesn’t happen anymore in the latest builds. Please check if it works for you and comment back if it fails still

5. Placed AI files no more respect 'Crop to' setting

   Since 29.1 update AI files are imported with bleed area no matter what setting is set during placement.
   File->place ->[V] Show import options

6. 2024バージョンで保存したのに、2025バージョンで開くと更新ダイアログで2024より前のバージョンで作成されたデータと表示され、更新箇所を確認できない

   2025で開いたときに更新箇所を確認したいので、2024で別名保存して、2025で開くと、以下の表示が出ます。
   「このファイルには旧バージョンのillustratorで作成されたデキスとが含まれています。テキストレイアウトが更新されることで、文字の配置が変わる場合があります。・ファイルを閉じる場合には「キャンセル」を選択します。・テキストレイアウトを更新してファイルを開く場合には「OK」を選択します」

   何度やり直しても、「更新を確認」のボタンがあるダイアログがでません。

   2024のバージョン：28.7.5(64bit)
   2025のバージョン：29.3.1(64bit)

7. Open or place PSD file does not keep any editable layers

   I am trying to open a file that I created in PSD that has three layers plus some adjustment layers. Two of these layers are text. Regardless of if I open or place them Illustrator, the file comes in as a single bitmap layer. Open does ask me if I want to keep the layers and text, but it does not work. Place doesn't ask; it just places the image.

8. Export Assets (Elements) as SVG results in additional content in exported file

   When exporting assets as SVG using Asset Export panel, additional content is added — content that I exported weeks ago. When using "artboards" to export everything is correct.

9. Sizes of exported PNG files differ depending on the method used

   Using "Export as" and "Export to Multiple Screen Formats" to export PNG format, with the same settings, there is a significant difference in size after export.

10. Changes made in acrobat PDF not reflected when opening in Illustrator

    Sometimes, text and graphical changes made using Adobe Acrobat on PDF's are not reflected when opened in Illustrator. For example, a client sent a PDF file of a banner with a phone number on it, when viewed in Acrobat the number is different than the one in Illustrator because the client made the edit in Acrobat. It would sure be a great feature if a file would open properly in across different adobe products.

11. White words invisible on export

    There is a bug after I import the file form InDesign. I have some words on a sheet made in InDesign, then save it as PDF, then import to Illustrator, and then the bug is coming — if i create new words in Illustrator and use the Eyedropper to click the words on the sheet to change the color to White, and export as JPG, the words won't be show up, but black color would.

12. Pantone or other book colors in a CMYK document look fine in Overprint preview mode but get exported to an RGB images as dull

    When we add a Pantone or a different book color into a CMYK document, we can see how it looks 'for real' when we enable Overprint mode — all fair.

    Then we would need to share this image with a client, so we export an RGB image... and this image shows out vivid book color as a dull-and converted-to-CMYK-and-then-to-RGB color — which is not what we have in mind.

    This is a bug, honestly, I think, but also a request — we need to be able to export images as we see them in Overprint Preview mode... Ai respect overprints (there was a problem with that: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/37832167), but not fully when it comes to book colors.

    The only way to workaround is to temporarily switch the document’s color mode into RGB (and not to forget to undo this later).

    When we add a Pantone or a different book color into a CMYK document, we can see how it looks 'for real' when we enable Overprint mode — all fair.

    Then we would need to share this image with a client, so we export an RGB image... and this image shows out vivid book color as a dull-and converted-to-CMYK-and-then-to-RGB color — which is not what we have in mind.

    Alejandro, please share a test file that has hyperlinks set up in it, the PDF export settings used, and the resulting PDF you get, so the team can review it.

15. Illustrator sometimes stops responding when trying to "save as ..." a recovered file

    Illustrator stops responding when trying to "save as ..." a recovered file, afterwards one of two things happens. Either the application freezes and can only be shut with task manager, or a text box appears saying the printer driver is not compatible and opens the print menu settings

    1. Open illustrator, and textbox appears: "Illustrator just recovered from a crash" etc.
    2. press "ok" to open the document
    3. Document seems to function normally
    4. "Save as" (via file or via keyboard shortcut), destination is local on the computer
    5. Regardless whether it is renamed or not, press "save"

    From here I have had a few different outcomes

    Outcome A
    6. Illustrator looks fine but stops responding when you click
    7. application freezes, loses all interactivity and then needs to be shut down with task manager

    Outcome B
    6. Illustrator stops responding immediately, and after loading for a second, the text box "This printer driver is not supported by illustrator" appears
    7. Press "ok"
    8. standard saving options appear and everything appears to be going smoothly
    9. Then freezes and follows outcome A

    I did eventually managed to save my document with "save" rather than "save as", which followed Outcome B (still complaining about the printer driver which it doesn't usually do) without freezing itself at the end.

    Device: Windows surface studio 2 running Adobe Illustrator 2025 on Windows 11
    File: Recovered locally stored .ai file

16. Illustrator crashed, the file was not recovered

    ******* buggg thingy
    I was working on a file for more than 4 hours and suddenly my adobe crashed and all of my works were gone like a joke. It got relaunched and I couldn’t find my works it’s vanished.

    EPS保存して再度データを開くと画像の位置が勝手にかわっています。
    プレビュー画面で見ると普通ですが開くとおかしくなっています。

18. v29.2.1 image export (JPG & PNG) anti-aliasing "Art Optimized" not working

    Export image (JPG/PNG) w/ anti-aliasing "Art Optimized" on, images are perfect!

    After updating to v29.2.1
    Anti-aliasing "Art Optimized" on -> not working

    macOS v15.2 (Mac mini M2 Pro)
    Illustrator v29.2.1

    Morning v29.0.1, then update to v29.2.1 this afternoon. I'm pretty sure this is not a hardware problem. so i downgrade to v29.0.1. image export works perfect again.

19. JPG werden nicht mehr exportiert

    Seit einer Woche lassen sich aus der .ai Datei keine .jpg mehr exportieren. Hierbei erschein keine Fehlermeldung. Es erscheint einfach keine .jpg Datei. Dieser Sachverhalt tritt einzig bei .jpg. auf. PDF lassen sich weiterhin exportieren.

20. SVG保存時にスワッシュ字形等が書き出されない

    再現手順
    1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に「Air」と入力し欧文フォント（スワッシュ字形が有効なもの）を指定する。
    2.OpenTypeパネルの「スワッシュ字形」と「タイトル用字形」をクリックする。
    3.SVG形式で保存。その際、フォントをサブセットで埋め込む。
    4.ブラウザ等で確認するとスワッシュ字形等がデフォルトの字形で表示される。

    期待する結果
    スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が正しく表示される。

    実際の結果
    スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が標準字形になる。

    SwashやTitlingAlternatesはスタイルに対してfont-feature-settings等の設定が必要になりますが、Illustratorはそういった設定を保存しません。また、フォントサブセットを保存した場合でも標準字形のグリフが保存されます。

    EN Translate:
    Step to Reproduce
    1. open a new document, type "Air" on the artboard, and specify a western font (with swash glyphs enabled).
    2. Click "Swash" and "Titling Alternates" in the OpenType panel.
    3. Save the file in SVG format. (Embed the font as a subset.)
    4. When we check the file in a browser, the swash and Titling Alternates will be displayed as default glyph.

    Expected Results
    Swash and titlling Alternates are displayed correctly.

    Actual result
    Swash and titleling Altermates are fallback to defalt glyph.

    Swash and TitlingAlternates require font-feature-settings and other settings for styles, but Illustrator does not save such settings. Also, when font subsets are saved, the glyphs of the default glyphs are saved.

    Please delete the ".pdf" extension from the attached pdf file and open it in Illustrator.

    再現手順
    1. 新規ドキュメントを開きアートボード上に「Air」と入力し欧文フォント（スワッシュ字形が有効なもの）を指定する。
    2.OpenTypeパネルの「スワッシュ字形」と「タイトル用字形」をクリックする。
    3.SVG形式で保存。その際、フォントをサブセットで埋め込む。
    4.ブラウザ等で確認するとスワッシュ字形等がデフォルトの字形で表示される。

    期待する結果
    スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が正しく表示される。

    実際の結果
    スワッシュ字形やタイトル用字形が標準字形になる。

    SwashやTitlingAlternatesはスタイルに対してfont-feature-settings等の設定が必要になりますが、Illustratorはそういった設定を保存しません。また、フォントサブセットを保存した場合でも標準字形のグリフが保存されます。

    Step to Reproduce
    1. open a new document, type "Air" on the artboard, and specify a western font (with swash glyphs enabled).
    2. Click "Swash" and "Titling Alternates" in the OpenType panel.
    3. Save the file in SVG format. (Embed the font as a subset.)
    4. When we check the file in a browser, the swash and Titling Alternates will be displayed as default glyph.

    Expected Results
    Swash and titlling Alternates are displayed correctly.
