Only Object Outlines visible
I was creating a figure for research and suddenly, only the outlines were visible. I am not sure if this is a rendering issue or if I am in a different viewing mode. Help is appreciated.

GPU Performance causes lag on RTX 4000 Ada – CPU rendering is smoother
Illustrator version: 2026 (30.1)
OS: Windows 11
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada
Driver: NVIDIA Studio 591.59Description:
When GPU Performance is enabled, Illustrator becomes less responsive (lag during zoom, pan and object manipulation).
Disabling GPU Performance makes Illustrator significantly smoother and more responsive. This happens even on empty or simple documents.
The issue is reproducible and does not depend on file complexity.Expected behavior:
GPU acceleration should improve performance, not reduce it.2 votes -
Dragging a guide with Real-Time Drawing and Editing mode enabled makes black or cyan edges appear for all objects
I'm not sure if this is a possible feature, if so please let me know for what I can use it. Otherwise I would like to report it.
For example the following explanation:
I place some retangles on the artboard. Two objects get a color filling and the third one is filled with white. I use a ruler on one of the colored objects. When I drag the same ruler again, the white object appears and all object have a black stroke. When I drag a second ruler the white object does not appear. If I grab the second ruler…2 votesThe team is investigating this.

Steps to recreate:
Create a new document. Proof setup > Color Blindness (any type) > Proof Colors. Zoom in or out. The screen flashes and GPU preview if now off. It can not be re-enabled even if you disable Proof Colors. Restarting illustrator is required to get back GPU preview.System: Apple M1 Pro

Dotted Guides are not precise in GPU preview
Guides should allow us to be sure about alignment.
And while in CPU it’s mostly true, in GPU preview dotted guides get drawn 1 pixel off.
These should perfectly overlap the edges of the object aligned!Look at the GIF attached
If you notice a bug with the bounding bounding box not getting displayed when I select the rectangle in the CPU Preview mode — it’s a separate Beta-only bug, reported here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/939477/suggestions/50759876

Changes made by plugin tools are not rendered instantly in CPU Outline and Pixel Preview modes
Just recently something changed for plugins, and changes these make don’t get updated in modes until you force the canvas to redraw (zoom, move, draw in the region... not pan though).
Here, I try to use one of Astute Graphics’ plugins (it affects many) — I shorten the path, but Ai doesn’t re-render it!I bet it’s about performance, but come on! These tools is what keeps Ai afloat for many. Please don’t drop the support.
4 votesHi,
Thanks for reporting this. At the moment, we’re unable to reproduce the issue on our end.
To help us investigate further, could you please share:
- The exact Astute Graphics plugin(s) installed (including version numbers)
- The Illustrator version/build where you’re seeing the issue
- Whether the issue is still reproducible in the latest CCD release build or the current beta build
If possible, any additional details such as a short screen recording or .ai file where the issue consistently reproduces would be extremely helpful.
Thanks for your help and patience—we appreciate you taking the time to report this.
Best regards,
Aishwarya

Can't see any Artboards
Every project I access opens, but I can't see any artboards. I have tried downgrading and uninstalling+reinstalling, to no effect.
Would be grateful for any input on my situation.

I can't see any shapes I have created inside and outside the artboard, even when I have not selected any preview options
I am not able to see any shapes, I created inside and outside the artboard. I made sure that none of the preview options are selected, still after zooming in and out whole shapes are disappearing from the illustrator software.

Color changes (and other things) do not change until I click on the page somewhere in Illustrator 2026
As in the title. I cannot see the changes I've made (fill color, stroke color, or fill/stroke flip) until I click on the page. Also after working on a file for some time, the "info" data stops working. i.e. the height and width (of an object) show zero instead of a number value. Restarting the app fixes it, but only temporarily.
Note: these same things are happening on 2 (completely different computers). One is a high-powered Alienware Area 51 desktop, the other is a high-powered Dell.

Circle with thin stroke aligned inside has artifacts in GPU Preview
I’ve noticed that when I draw a circle with a diameter of 250 mm and a stroke thickness of 0.25 pt, with the stroke alignment set to inside, and then draw another circle with the same stroke thickness but a diameter of 230 mm, the smaller circle shows irregularities in the stroke line (see images).
When the stroke alignment is set to center, however, the circle is displayed correctly.
This issue isn’t serious, I just noticed it while working.2 votes -
GPU rendering & mouse with indents (stepping) scroll wheel = blurry graphics
When scrolling with a scroll wheel that has indents, the GPU rendering causes blurry graphics at the beginning of the newly rendered pars that come into the workspace. See attachment.
It takes half a second to render that portion of the screen in normal quality on a Mac Studio Max! This machine should render fast enough to see no blurry parts. (120fps games as an example!)
I suspect Ai 29.8.2 to have a render engine problem. It’s just too slow. Other apps like Figma, Affinity Designer render the same documents 100x faster.2 votes -
Images and Shadows Not Rendering Correctly
I am having issues with build 29.8.2.
When I link photos to my artboards and add drop shadows to shapes or objects, the display is not rendering them. It will show them, but if I move or zoom out, sometimes they go away. And if I export my artboards, these issues carry over. The images dont export, there is just a grey circle where that masked image is supposed to be. And shadows from one object to the next are different, just not even there. How can I fix this?3 votes -
Rotating an object with 3D Extrude & Bevel causes pixelation in v29.8.2
I don't know if any user has raised this before, but the 3D Extrude and Bevel in Illustrator (29.8.2) has an issue. When trying to manipulate an object by rotating it, the object completely pixelates as it is adjusted. It's impossible to ascertain the positioning as it just becomes a massed blob of pixels whilst I am trying to position it. Whether positioning it manually, or by using the X,Y, Z sliders, the problem still persists. Zooming in doesn't work either (the pixellation just increases in size). See screen grab- as you can see, the item I am trying to…

Real Time Drawing & Editing will not turn off for drawing shapes
When I have Real Time Drawing & Editing turned OFF, shapes (rectangle, ellipse) still show up filled while drawing, instead of just the vector outline as expected.
Steps to recreate:
turn off real-time drawing & editing
select random fill color
select shape tool
draw shapeexpected result: only vector outline is seen during drawing
actual result: filled shape is seen during drawingI tested this and found the same behavior on both my Windows 10 desktop and my Windows 11 Laptop, both running Illustrator 29.8.1 (64-bit).
There is no problem when moving an object, that still displays the vector outline…
5 votesFixed and works as it should do in Beta 30.0.0.72 — please try to install it (or update if it’s installed) and verify if it works for you, before it gets pushed into General build.
