Could not agree more, what are you total lunatics. How do you even survive as a publicly listed company.

An error occurred while saving the comment David Cuesta commentedI might add that all the other tools still have the Input Field selected. (i.e. move or scale)

Please share your thoughts on the following:
1. Would it make sense to have a separate desktop app, just to create charts, and bring them inside Illustrator or InDesign? It may not be on cloud.
2. Or would you rather have us work on building it within Illustrator?
Thanks

Adobe Illustrator's Multithreading Journey Begins!
Dear Illustrator Community,
I'm thrilled to announce that we've embarked on an exciting journey to bring multithreading capabilities to Adobe Illustrator. This significant undertaking will enhance performance and responsiveness across various aspects of the application.
While this is a complex process that will take some time to fully implement, I wanted to share our progress so far.
Our Approach
We've strategically begun by focusing on the most computationally intensive operations—those that typically take more time and block the main thread, resulting in slower response times while you work. By moving these operations to separate threads, we aim to significantly improve your overall experience with Illustrator.
It's important to note that you may see more noticeable impact in some areas than others initially. However, we want to assure you that this is just the beginning, and we will continue this journey to bring improvements across…

It is now obvious the issue was not fixed fully. The developers are aware of it now. Let’s hope it will be fixed soon enough.
If you have a solid order of steps which reproduce this behavior, share them in comments, because only some machines are affected. Please help the team to isolate it.

An error occurred while saving the comment David Cuesta commentedEntering a number in X then hitting tab to Y and typing in the number is jogging to another number and not applying the number I typed. I have to wait a couple seconds then re-type in the number for Y. I have tried reinstalling and trashing preferences still happens. I use this tool 100+ everyday. Please help.
David Cuesta supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment David Cuesta commentedSomeone else was having this issue and I posted there, but then they closed the comments on that thread. Its still happening. It's the most annoying thing in the world I use that tool like 100+ times each day.
I have reinstalled Illustrator and reset preferences and everything it's still happening. -

Hi Everyone, This feature was shipped in Illustrator 2020 version. Please go to Preferences>Selection & Anchor Display > and check ‘Select and unlock objects on canvas’. Enabling this preference will display a lock icon when you select the locked object.

The latest Beta 28.8.0.37 now has this function back.
You can enable the mode using a button in Control Panel or in Properties, with the Artboard tool picked.
The option automatically enables Scale Strokes & Effects option temporarily.
As always, you can hold Shift to resize proportionally.
Please test it and comment back!

This feature request is completed and it is available in Illustrator 28.0 and above.
An error occurred while saving the comment David Cuesta commentedForgot to add centering commands like indesign, right now have to manually select the object and the picture and align, or shrink object down by eye.
David Cuesta supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment David Cuesta commentedWould be good in general if links worked more like indesign, as in low/med/high res jpeg preview and faster rendering time, and not clogging up the file by default. (I know you can turn embedding off but the workflow for that is hardly smooth.) In indesign it just works seamlessly. Also cropping of images would could be better handled.
a) Have a picture box feature. (right now I need to create an object, place the image, the create a mask..... much easier to just make a picture box and click place.
b) add functionality would be if you were to do it through the current work flow, and create a mask around a picture it would automatically turn it into a picture box.
c) add cropping handles to the box like in indesign. -

I thought it was only me! really adobe, I think you will soon start loosing all your customers. I really can't believe 100 people vote for something, then you fix it, then all of a sudden you release a new version and the same issue is back.
