I'm sorry, but I've upgraded Ai just right now and the issue remains.
It's still impossible to move an illustration over the grid using internal points.
The snapping occurs only at the bounding box of the illustration.I can't get back the behaviour we had on Ai 2015...

Hello,
I don't have any tools to record but just try yourself draw any random shape, and activate the grid snaping and try to move the whole shape selecting any point on the path and try to snap on the grid, and you will see that's impossible, the path move, but snap only regarding the bounding box, not the particular pointAn error occurred while saving the comment Jean-Michel Le Goff commented
Hello, There is still this issue pending and can't understand why.
Using direct Tools, when grid snapping is used, only the bounding box of the object is snapping to the grid.
If you select a particular poin of the illustration it don't snap…It make us crying, and force our people to remains on AI CC15

Hello,
I'm really sorry, but I check after each release if there is some enhancement about this feature, but it doesn't.
If you have drawn something an d try to snap this art with some particular point to the grid it doesn't.
Only the bounding box is snapping. you can't use any interior point. An error occurred while saving the comment Jean-Michel Le Goff commented
I'm sorry to insist, but what you suggest is not working in the 2018 version, but until through 2015.
Is it possible to review this?
Thanks
Happy New YearAn error occurred while saving the comment Jean-Michel Le Goff commented
Sorry but it's not the behavior we need.
It's not possible to draw with snap to grid "on"
And moving a possible by by direct selection align only that point and not all the shape selected.
What we need is to revert to the behavior of version 2015 and previous.
Best regards

the upper windows is AI 2018, the bottom one is 2015.
in the 2015 view you can move the indicated point to any point grid.
in 2018 you can't avery move align the limit of the path to a grid line, but you can't snap the point. (except if you draw a point at that position, but it is not acceptable as a workaround)Jean-Michel Le Goff shared this idea ·

hello,
it's not really Smart Guides, take a path drawn freely. after activating the grid, if you want to align an internal point of the path to a point grid you can't. the magnetisme apply only on the bounding box of the path not on the point you show.
I should be please to share a picture but don't know how in "comment window"
I generate a new Bug reportAn error occurred while saving the comment Jean-Michel Le Goff commented
When moving a an object from a selected point, it's not possible to snap to a poin grid.
The snap works only with the bounding box of the object.

We have released the support for Pattern swatches in CC Library with our latest release - v29.3
You can select the swatch in swatches panel and add it to CC Library through the button on the bottom bar in the panel. You can also select any object which has pattern applied and add that pattern to CC Library through Add Elements (+ button at the bottom) from the Libraries panel and choose Fill Pattern from the drop-down menu.
Update to this version from your Creative Cloud Desktop application and let us know your feedback.

I agree, I don't understand why the import DWG files is stuck to the 2007 version.
We are more and more trying to work collaboratively and it's boring to ask to collaborators to open a file only for saving it to a legacy format.
Please try to support latest versions, or at least don't check the file signature (sometimes it's only a matter of wording, without no structural changes)

As stated in this request’s status update, the team had to temporarily revoke the 'Search for missing links in this folder' feature to make a way for the missing 'Apply to All' option when relinking, starting with version 29.2.
These two can’t coexist at the moment, and the team intends to come up with a better solution to allow both.

Once again, try using "constrain path dragging on segment reshape" it will help recover one par of the behavior of the pen tool, and make it usable again...

Hi Jean-Michel,
Press the Option key while dropping graphics from CC Library to artboard in Illustrator to bring the ‘original’ AI content. This will directly embed the graphic. Without the Option key it places the graphic, and all AI files get placed as PDF, hence the issues.
Does the Option key work for you?
Thanks,
YogeshAn error occurred while saving the comment Jean-Michel Le Goff commented
So, can you take care of this? Or do I need to post a new feature request?
An error occurred while saving the comment Jean-Michel Le Goff commented
Hi,
Ok, it works but using this option, you embed always the graphics.
In my vision, the goal was to use keep the link to the Library as long as it is possible. (to optimize file size and keep the benefits of instances)
and this option could be used only when it is mandatory to embed the graphic in the AI format instead than PDF.Does it make sense?
Thanks

Hi Everyone,
All the effect checkboxes have now been set to ON by default, and are sticky (meaning that if you disable preview, on next launch of Illustrator preview will remain disabled). Hi,
I'm trying the new beta version.
It looks like the repeat Mirror is still cliping the illustration to the axis symetry, and crop all is going through.
It would be useful to have the possibility to deactivate the clipping path, in order to allow the illustration going over the symetry, like it is the case for repeat rotation.
