New Tool Suggestion: Color Harmony Tool
Dear Adobe Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I'm writing to propose the development of a new Color Harmony Tool for Adobe Illustrator. As a designer who frequently uses Illustrator for creating artwork, I believe such a tool would greatly enhance the creative process by facilitating better color combinations and harmonies.
Problem: Illustrators and designers often face challenges in selecting and maintaining color harmonies within Adobe Illustrator. While the existing color tools are robust, they could benefit from integrated features specifically tailored for creating and managing color harmonies.
Proposed Solution: Introduce a dedicated Color Harmony Tool that offers:

"View colors as Word"
Adobe apps and Office do not play well together.
Even in RGB graphics in Illustrator don't translate well in Word. Can there be a "View As..." option to show how Word will translate them?
Or....ORRRRRRRRRRR....(this is what SHOULD happen...)
Everyone jump on Microsoft and bully them into adding a CMYK color space to Word/Office.1 vote -
Color differents problem
I have a problem with big color's preference difference between my AI monitor and real color on my and other machines. It's also concerning all the colors.
I choose the red color and I get the brick color otherwise. Really in image and PDF file, I see the red color indeed.
It's very serious problem for me, because I cann't know what the color I use to.1 vote -
Please make color control a **** of a lot more intuitive
Hi team,
I am familiar with InDesign and Photoshop. I am really trying to use illustrator on a project. I am fairly new to illustrator and am using the latest version as of 10/30/2018. I have to say the way you use and set colors in Indesign is either horribly broken (i.e., Bug) or it is not at all intuitive or similar to other Adobe tools. For example, I want to create a color gradient swatch that is applied to an image and then alter the color gradient and see how it looks. Seems simple - but I have…

Select Artwork by Swatch
This is how it should work:
Select a Swatch in the Swatches palette, choose from the menu: 'Select all object that use this swatch' (as Fill / Stroke).
Comes in very handy to select items via the Swatches palette in complex cartoon style drawings. It is also a way to - kind of - create long awaited multi layer groups.

Allow to create a swatch from an existing fill color, when stroke is active but not applied
Make New Swatch always available, not only when the Fill Color is active.

Wand tool selects text
I often need to change the color of multiple objects at once and using universal swatches is not an option (several artboards using the same swatches need to be changed to different colors). The wand tool is perfect for this except that it completely ignores live text. Even using select > same > fill color doesn't capture everything (maybe a bug). Including text when using the wand tool seems like a no brainer. It would be really useful for selecting text of the same size, weight, font, and other parameters as well.
2 votesRecent versions of Illustrator have the dedicated Select Same submenu for text objects, specifically Select > Same > Text Fill Color.
This still won’t work properly if your text objects have complex appearance (a separate fill over characters counts as an object-level fill), but works for most cases.
Magic Wand though indeed ignores text objects completely. If you still want it to be able to do so, please vote and comment. There are some questions to be solved for that, like 'what should the wand do, if a clicked text characters of different colors mixed'?

Find and Replace as a panel (palette)
Does it no longer have to be in pallet form for FIND & REPLACE? Even list the past wanted. I think you should think about it. You can take an example from the ExtendScript Toolkit (ESTK) (as in the video). Because Adobe did it. I want to remind:)

Advanced Blend Colors Horizontally / Vertically
- make it work with compound paths
- give the user a choice to blend HSB (Blending R and B should give G) e.g. creating a rainbow should be possible with blending colors, but it isn't in the current version.

Allow color coded top layers
Please allow us to color code the top layer/s. For those whom have to work with 30 plus layers the tiny color slice indicator (which is just the color of the selected vector line, not the layer) is not enough. If I could color code the layers it would speed up my job significantly and our company. Thank you!

"[Paper]" or "[Transparent]" Swatch
Add a "Paper" (or "Transparent") Swatch to the swatches like the one in InDesign that, like [None] or [Registration] cannot be removed.
Adding this would make it FAR easier to knock out parts of complex artwork WITHOUT forcing the user to destroy the layer structure of their files.
In the attached image, for instance, I wanted to have rounded corners on the bottom of a header graphic, and this meant I need to use a clipping mask, which requires all the elements it contains to be on the same layer. While there are workarounds, such as placing AI files within…

Make the eyedropper appear with the Brush / Blob Brush tool selected by holding the Alt / Option key
With the brush tool selected, make the eyedropper appear by holding down the alt key. This would allow colors within the document to be sampled just like in Photoshop, without having to keep selecting from the swatches.

Temporarily disable selection handles while changing color
When I'm changing an object's color, its selection outline and other debris like "live corner" markers get in the way of previewing the color change.
I usually have to deselect the object to see if the change "worked" with the rest of my design. It's a tedious workflow.
Illustrator should temporarily turn off these markers while I'm changing the color.
Every other drawing app does this.

Add more modifier keys for Control bar to show alternate color UI
Currently the behavior of the Color UI in Properties is broken:
http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/48691379Clicking the swatch drop down opens the different swatch color options.
Please update with these shortcut key options:
Shift + clicking the swatch drop down opens the Color Mixer options.
Option + clicking the swatch drop down opens the gradient options.
Command + clicking the swatch drop down opens the pattern options.1 vote -
"EmojiOne Color" font in AI CC 2019
"EmojiOne Color" is a "color-only" font in AI CC 2019. Although it has "fallback" B&W characters that work fine in earlier versions of Illustrator the font CANNOT be change to B&W in AI CC 2019. This is a HUGE flaw in the font and should be made to work in either color or black and white mode.

Save Color Profiles by Default
By default, the color profiles I assign to the file should be saved.
There have been several times I have assigned a color profile to my Illustrator file, saved it as a PDF, and the printed PDF were the wrong colors because Illustrator didn't include the assigned profile. I then had to reopen my file, manually tell Illustrator to include all color profiles when saving, and then reprint.
It is ridiculous that the file doesn't save assigned profiles by default.

Keep guides and elements in new document profile
I know we can create new document profiles with custom size and custom swatches and use the profiles to quickly create new new custom documents with repeating specs.
However either I am doing something wrong or I've missed something, but the guides don't get saved along the artboard size and swatches. Surely keeping the guides should be possible within the same technology? Would love to see this improvement.
I have searched everywhere for a solution to always having to open an illustrator template file as a workaround.
Thanks :)

Select CC Library color does not change the current Fill or Stroke color if no object selected
The stroke or fill color does not change when selecting a CC Library color while no object is selected. The workaround is to select an item, or draw and item and keep it selected, then change color in CC Library. The stroke or fill is updated.

When entering colour values Illustrator searches your currently open swatch book for the same values.
So for example if you are doing a CMYK colour, once you've put in the values it comes up with a "suggested swatch" option that has the same values or even suggests swatches with similar/close values.
