  1. Drag CC Library colors to Gradient panel

Right now, users can drag Swatches to the Gradient panel to build gradients quickly. It would be really handy if we could drag colors from the CC Library panel to the Gradient panel in the same way.

  2. In Appearance calling alternative color UI is done with Shift and not obvious Alt

For some we have to hold Shift while clicking a fill/stroke square in Appearance panel to call the alternative pseudo-panel.
Alt = Alternative. Sure, Macs have Option instead, but it also fits.

Also, the hint has the 'Shift' and 'Color' written in lower-case: 'Hold shift key to bring up alternate color UI'... and I have no idea why 'alternate', why no alternation happens? Who wrote this hint?

  3. Make Illustrator remember Export As settings

Please make Illustrator remember user workflow: I export hundred times JPGs for client preview, and each time i have to manually change CMYK setting to RGB, click color profile, etc... hundred times a day, each day...

  4. "View colors as Word"

Adobe apps and Office do not play well together.
Even in RGB graphics in Illustrator don't translate well in Word. Can there be a "View As..." option to show how Word will translate them?
    Or....ORRRRRRRRRRR....(this is what SHOULD happen...)
Everyone jump on Microsoft and bully them into adding a CMYK color space to Word/Office.

  5. Advanced Blend Colors Horizontally / Vertically

    • make it work with compound paths
    • give the user a choice to blend HSB (Blending R and B should give G) e.g. creating a rainbow should be possible with blending colors, but it isn't in the current version.

  6. Wand tool selects text

I often need to change the color of multiple objects at once and using universal swatches is not an option (several artboards using the same swatches need to be changed to different colors). The wand tool is perfect for this except that it completely ignores live text. Even using select > same > fill color doesn't capture everything (maybe a bug). Including text when using the wand tool seems like a no brainer. It would be really useful for selecting text of the same size, weight, font, and other parameters as well.

Recent versions of Illustrator have the dedicated Select Same submenu for text objects, specifically Select > Same > Text Fill Color.

This still won’t work properly if your text objects have complex appearance (a separate fill over characters counts as an object-level fill), but works for most cases.

Magic Wand though indeed ignores text objects completely. If you still want it to be able to do so, please vote and comment. There are some questions to be solved for that, like 'what should the wand do, if a clicked text characters of different colors mixed'?

  7. Why is there a limit to number of spot/global swatches you can use in a gradient?

We use Illustrator for carpet design which includes complex grades using multiple colours.
As we reference colour poms it is easier to create named colour swatches to keep track of the colours used however we can only apply 27 to a gradient - can this limit be increased?

  8. "Go to" used swatch directly from swatch panel

Just like you can click "go to" any link, and InDesign will show you where the link is on the page, it would be great to select all objects per swatch no matter if it's a fill or stroke. Currently the "select similar" option only selects objects with same characteristics. If you sample a filled shape it will look for a filled shape, and it will not detect an outlined shape even if it is the same color. I struggled trying to find an unwanted swatch color. It was hidden behind many layers as an outline with no…

  10. Color differents problem

I have a problem with big color's preference difference between my AI monitor and real color on my and other machines. It's also concerning all the colors.
I choose the red color and I get the brick color otherwise. Really in image and PDF file, I see the red color indeed.
It's very serious problem for me, because I cann't know what the color I use to.

  11. Add a way to protect chosen colors in Recolor while randomizing, and allow to limit chosen colors to different libraries, all in one session

I use the Recolor (color mixer/wheel) daily. I have come across a couple features missing.

    Feature Request 1:
    - I use the 'randomize/recolor' tool to scroll through a self-made palette and recolor prints with several colors.
    - When I've come across a semi-acceptable mix, I can't lock in the colors I like.
    - To hold those colors, I have to save and close the color mix window, then reopen and 'lock' those colors
    - This adjusted feature would allow me to 'lock' the couple colors that are working for the…

  12. Find and Replace Text in Object Name in the Layers Panel

Add the ability to perform a find and replace in the names of object. For example: If I have a seating chart with 10 rows, I want to be able to name each seat in the row such as "Row A - Seat 1", "Row A - Seat 2", etc...

After I create one row then copy and paste it to create Row B, I need the ability to highlight that grouping and replace all the "A"s with "B"s and so forth with each row.

    See attachment as an example

  13. Make the eyedropper appear with the Brush / Blob Brush tool selected by holding the Alt / Option key

With the Brush or Blob Brush tool selected, make the Eyedropper appear by holding down the Opt / Alt key. This would allow colors within the document to be sampled just like in Photoshop, without having to keep selecting from the swatches.

  14. Find and Replace as a panel (palette)

Does it no longer have to be in pallet form for FIND & REPLACE? Even list the past wanted. I think you should think about it. You can take an example from the ExtendScript Toolkit (ESTK) (as in the video). Because Adobe did it. I want to remind:)

  15. Add a Recent section in the Find/Replace Font dialog

Sometimes we have to use the same font as a replacement font.
Find/Replace Font dialog remembers none of our previous replacement searches. And since Search / Filter is missing too (here is the request: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/45057382), we are doomed to scroll the list every time.
Just remember the choices at least!

  16. Please make color control a **** of a lot more intuitive

    Hi team,

I am familiar with InDesign and Photoshop. I am really trying to use illustrator on a project. I am fairly new to illustrator and am using the latest version as of 10/30/2018. I have to say the way you use and set colors in Indesign is either horribly broken (i.e., Bug) or it is not at all intuitive or similar to other Adobe tools. For example, I want to create a color gradient swatch that is applied to an image and then alter the color gradient and see how it looks. Seems simple - but I have…

  17. Evenly space color stops within a gradient

Being able to distribute color stops inside the gradient panel.
E.g.: I want 32 stops on a single gradient bar.
Being able to evenly distribute them instead of picking a value on click and drag it (as it is really tedious or imprecise).

  18. Keep guides and elements in new document profile

I know we can create new document profiles with custom size and custom swatches and use the profiles to quickly create new new custom documents with repeating specs.

However either I am doing something wrong or I've missed something, but the guides don't get saved along the artboard size and swatches. Surely keeping the guides should be possible within the same technology? Would love to see this improvement.

I have searched everywhere for a solution to always having to open an illustrator template file as a workaround.

    Thanks :)

  19. "EmojiOne Color" font in AI CC 2019

"EmojiOne Color" is a "color-only" font in AI CC 2019. Although it has "fallback" B&W characters that work fine in earlier versions of Illustrator the font CANNOT be change to B&W in AI CC 2019. This is a HUGE flaw in the font and should be made to work in either color or black and white mode.

  20. "[Paper]" or "[Transparent]" Swatch

Add a "Paper" (or "Transparent") Swatch to the swatches like the one in InDesign that, like [None] or [Registration] cannot be removed.

Adding this would make it FAR easier to knock out parts of complex artwork WITHOUT forcing the user to destroy the layer structure of their files.

In the attached image, for instance, I wanted to have rounded corners on the bottom of a header graphic, and this meant I need to use a clipping mask, which requires all the elements it contains to be on the same layer. While there are workarounds, such as placing AI files within…
