2. Stop nag windows

   Provide the option to stop nag windows appearing - offering to take a tour of Illustrator, or to use the new tools instead of the old ones. I already use most of the new tools, but I would like to occasionally use some of the old ones without being reminded that other options exist. Especially after the 200th time...

3. Export for screens should exclude template layers

   When exporting for screens, any layers which are set as template or non-printing should be excluded from the output without having to first turn off that layer.

5. Add numerical control over light sources in 3D Extrude & Bevel Effect Options

   When applying and tweaking 3D Extrude & Bevel Effect, user has to manipulate light by precise mouse twitching over the small sphere.
   It should be at least twice as big to provide fine control (I won't note this as separate request), but there should also be numerical fields to control the lights' position over sphere — angle, elevation, choose any.

   Also, why Depth and Height values there are immune to document Units settings? 56.96pt is nonsense to me, while 20mm makes sense.

6. USE of .CXF FILES within adobe cc

   As >cxf files will soon be the future of colour communication why do x-rite and adobe not integrate .cxf files with each other. The idea of a .cxf file is to help stabilise colour across various substrates, regardless of background hue, it allows the use of a spectrophotometer to read the colour and match it against a dE tolerance to make sure the colour is within specified range.
   Hence pantone live was born as every pantone book differs in colour, however a .cxf file never changes.

   So pantone want you to use pantone live, which is fine until the colour you want is not in a pantone book, from a print perspective thats ok with me. We simply measure the colour generate a .cxf file and do a drawdown on the substrate and get it within tolerance.

   But the problem arises when the designer is given the .cxf file, which he cant use because its not compatible, he then has to alloocate a spot colour from pantone and instruct the printer doing the job to replace the pantone colour with the .cxf file which leaves the whole loop very vulnerable.

   Now adobe get your act together after all you are supposed to be the market leaders in graphic art.

   And x-rite stop ******* about and allow a .cxf file to be re saves as a .ase file so we can all start talking to each other !!!!!!

8. Improve Trim Mark Settings When Exporting PDFs

   In the Japanese printing industry, it is common practice to require both corner crop marks and center crop marks when exporting PDFs.

   Currently, in Illustrator’s PDF export settings, enabling the “Trim Marks” option only adds corner marks. To include center crop marks, users must also check the “Registration Marks” option, which results in registration marks being added as well.

   However, these registration marks are generally disliked and considered unnecessary in Japanese print workflows. There needs to be an option to add only corner and center crop marks without registration marks.

   InDesign allows users to configure “inner crop marks,” “outer crop marks,” and “center crop marks” individually, offering much greater flexibility. We strongly request that Illustrator provide similar options for more precise control over crop marks when exporting PDFs.

9. Make Enclosed Selection Mode a permanent option

   Illustrator now allows to use Enclosed Mode to select objects within the marquee (originally requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31863601), but the only way to do it is tap E key.

   I agree that this basic feature is essential, but I don't agree that any modifier keys or specific dragging directions (like requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/49489604) should be required. Shift-drag is already used to add to the selection, so that won't work.

   Opt/Alt toggles duplication, and both can be toggled mid-drag (unlike in Photoshop).

   This should be a selectable selection mode (also with a hotkey), and in fact there should be a way to set it as the default option.

   Illustrator today allows to set this mode as a default behavior with the Select Objects only within Marquee option, in Preferences > Selection & Anchor Display.

10. Center Pattern Command

    Draw a vector shape and fill with a pattern, notice this is not centered. To do this is a long meticulous process prone to error.

11. Bei einem Update vom Illustrator sollten bereits in den Presets vorhandene Skripte übernommen werden.

    Nach einem Versionsupdate müssen bereits verwendete eigene Skripte manuell in den Presets-Ordner kopiert werden. Dies sollte beim Update automatisch geschehen.

12. ドロップシャドウのカラー設定を異なるカラーモードのドキュメント操作時に初期化してほしい

    ドロップシャドウのカラー値は前回適用された値が保持されています。この値は変更されるかアプリケーションを終了するまで保持されます。
    この挙動はカラーモードの異なるドキュメントを編集している際に問題になる場合があります。
    例えば、カラーモードがRGBのドキュメントにてドロップシャドウをデフォルトの数値で適用した場合、ドロップシャドウが持つカラー地はRGB各値が０となっています。この状態でカラーモードがCMYKのドキュメントに移りドロップシャドウを適用するとカラー値がC:93,M:88,Y:89:K:80となり、いわゆる4C割れという状態となりまます。
    ver.27で解消された４色に割れたブラックが適用されてしまうわけで、この状態はよくありません。

    ドキュメントのカラーモードとドロップシャドウの持つカラー値がマッチしない場合、デフォルトのカラー値にフォールバックさせるようにしていただきたいと思います。

13. An option to ignore strokes when using Fit to Artwork Bounds or Fit to Selected Art commands

    Illustrator now always fits the current artboard respecting strokes and raster effects, as if the 'Use Preview Bounds' option is on.

    However, disabling this option does not change the behaviour 'Fit to Artwork Bounds' or 'Fit to Selected Art' commands — strokes and shadows are still considered to be the bounds to fit.

    This is not what a user wants in many cases, and geometric bounds are preferred instead.
    We need Illustrator to either respect 'Use Preview Bounds' option — as Symbols do — or have another set of option for fitting command, to separately control strokes and effects.

14. Add a way to quickly access Smart Delete Point command

    The way the deleting of a point with a curvature kept works now is pretty hidden and unannounced. I see nothing about this in Help (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/editing-paths.html). There is no hint in the Current Tool field at the bottom of the screen, no cursor feedback, no label, no nothing.

    I do now remember exactly where I learnt about it though. Anubhav Rohatgi told about it in a session with Taniya Vij (https://youtu.be/odch54arInA?t=944), saying that they have no time to polish it (and more than a year after it’s still not), and this 'principal scientist' basically intended this feature to be an Easter egg. Indeed, the knowledge about it is passed from mouth to mouth basically, and some users are not aware of it and have no chance to learn it in-app (I even tried Discover).

    The tool should not be an Easter egg. It should be accessible and used.

    Consider adding Alt+Shift modifier for Pen, a dedicated menu command and proper hints. I have a larger article about reasons behind this, but the request does not exactly need it :)

    A very casual and time-consuming operation, especially because we lost Object Lasso (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/44462988-bring-back-object-lasso-tool) — drag a marquee around objects, hit Gtrl+G, drag another, group again... repeat dozens of time, especially if you draw icons or something similar for stocks.

    What if Illustrator was able to do it for us?
    Scan the selection, search for overlapping objects and create groups?

    What if it could do that in two modes: simple, by intersecting boundaries, and advanced, when true outlines being checked?

    What if it could do that with a tolerance also? Like if object are, say, 10 pixels apart, group them still?

    There is a script by John Wundes — https://github.com/johnwun/js4ai/blob/master/groupOverlappingObjects.js — which can do that, but it starts to skid on hundreds of objects and only does the boundaries check.

16. Add Fit to Artboard option to Rectangle Tool

    In the current situation, enter the size of the Rectangle by writing numbers or drawing it manually

    My suggestion is to add a feature inside the Rectangle box (Fit to artboard)

    I think this feature will save a lot of time

17. Curvature Combs and Tunni lines

    Two ideas, both aimed at creating smoother curves:

    1. curvature combs:
       an additional visual aid that could be enabled/disabled via hotkey or option on a panel that assists the artist/user in evaluating whether a curve is continuously smooth, or whether it needs adjustment. See this blog for a quick coded breakdown:

    Note that I'm not suggesting that the illustrator team rip-off anybody else's software, but I think these sorts of tools/assists would be handy for quite a few users who require more than the typical "eyeball-it" precision illustrator offers currently.

18. Change line color and fill color of groups in one click

    Let say you have multiple groups existing of line segments and filled objects (lines and circles for example). If I want to change the color of the lines and objects of a group, by clicking on a group, that is not possible. Or all line segments get a fill too or all the objects get a line too.

    To fix this, I have to go inside the group, select all the objects, change the fill and then select all the line segments and change the line color.

    A button to change the color of all line segments and the color of all object fills of a group (in one color) at once, that would be awesome.

    For everybody out there maintaining icon libraries for example, this would be a massive time saving feature.

    If this feature is already there please let me know!

19. Add and remove Hunspell dictionaries in different languages as in InDesign - PLEASE...

    Please add support for Hunspell dictionaries in Illustrator. Users from countries which languages aren't supported feel discriminated, because we pay the same price for the software as the others.
