1. Layer duplication

   Hello,

   I have asked why JavaScript was not showing a layer that I know exists here:

   Working with Thom Parker it was determined that the failure to show a layer was due to multiple layers. In that thread, I discuss a work around that prevents Illustrator from creating multiple layers such that only single layer instances are saved and thus JavaScript shows and hides layers.

   Previously, when adding a PDF as a graphic element to FrameMaker or InDesign I would get a "Layers don't match" error. This had no effect and so I never looked into it, until now when it prevents JavaScript from working as indicated here:

   Feel free to contact me. Fermilab has subscribed to Creative Suite, so I am using the last released version of Illustrator.

   Illustrator should not be generating multiple layers.

3. Align to key object doesn't work properly

   Mac Studio 2022 Apple M1 Max - 64Gb memory
   Mac OS Sequoia 15.1
   Illustrator (Middle East) 29.2.1

   Alignment to key object SOMETIMES doesn't work as expected. I cannot figure out which are the specific cases.
   When dealing with text boxes there is no difference between Roman Hanging punctuation ON or OFF.
   I numbered the screenshots according to the issue.

   1. TWO TEXT BOXES:
      I'm right aligning my text box to another text box. It right-aligns it to the right border of the selected text box with small margin (in this case 0,26mm). The right border of the text box is shifted 0,26mm to the left of the right border of the key text box.

   2. TEXT BOX AND (RECTANGULAR) SHAPE:
      My key object is the rectangular shape. Illustrator right-aligns my text box to the right end of the rectangular shape with a small margin (in this case 0,47mm). The right border of the text box is shifted 0,47mm to the left of the right end of the key rectangular shape.

   3. TWO SHAPES (one of them has no fill and a centered stroke)
      I'm right aligning a filled square to a rectangle that has a centered-stroke (key). It aligns it to the outer border of the box and not to the path.

   4. TEXT BOX AND HORIZONTAL LINE:
      I'm right aligning my text box to a line. It right-aligns it to the right end of the line with a small margin (in this case 0,52mm). The right border of the text box is shifted 0,52mm to the left of the right end of the line.

   5. TWO SHAPES (a centered-stroke line and a centred-stroke rectangle)
      I'm right aligning a line to a centered-stroke rectangle. It aligns the line to the outer border of the box and not to the path.

4. Color cannot be changed in compound paths and/or is not displayed correct

   In compound paths, the color cannot be changed directly via color fields or the pipette. The set color and color codes are displayed correctly under “Appearance”, however, nothing changes on the drawing area and the compound paths retain the fill color and outline color with which they were created.

5. Illustrator Beta Font Selection Panel Disappearing Problem

   When the pop-up font preferences panel opens, which is an easy selection area, the window that opens to select a font disappears when hovering over it with the mouse. The font preference preview panel closes before making a selection. It occurred after the last update.

7. Recent section in New Document dialog is empty with the newest update

   Latest updates cause a problem when creating a New File. The history of past artboard sizes is being wiped out on startup leaving only preset formats to choose from. I do not use any of those, I often use a 50"x100" to design in and would just click on it when needed in the large pane. There is now not even an option to customize the new file unless you choose one of the useless presets and modify it, this slows down production and is annoying as ****. This appeared in the update yesterday and is still there today- I am running v29.2.1

   ich arbeite mit einem Dell Precision 7560 PC unter WIN 11 Vers. 10.0.22632 mit Illustrator. Ich habe einen Prozessor 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185H mit 2.5 GHz mit 8 Kernen
   Ich habe seit geraumer Zeit das Problem dass Illustrator extrem langsam wird. meine Dateien sind klein un bestehen nur aus wenigen Vektor-Linien. Das Problem tritt auf, wenn ich Teile anwähle und mit Command C in die Zwischenablage kopiere. Dann wird die Darstellung ****, alles friert ein, das Rädchen dreht sich und manchmal werden die Fenster und Bedienfelder Schwarz. Nach einigen Sekunden funktioniert dann wieder alles. Nachdem das ein paar mal auftritt stürzt Illustrator ab.

    어떤 개체(Objects)를 카피(copy)해서 현재의 레이어(A layer)에서 다른 레이어어(B layer)에 붙여넣기(paste) 하려고 하면 자꾸 기존 레이어(A layer)에 붙여넣기가 됩니다.

11. They won't let me generate an MLK Jr. illustration for my MLK day design

    I run a Ryzen 5 5500U MSI laptop and my Adobe Illustrator is the latest one from 2025.

    I literally tried the most well-explained prompt so it leaves no confusion at all. But still in the middle of the process it gets terminated. Please take a look at my prompt,

    "Create a clean, minimalist, and bold 2D illustration of Martin Luther King Jr. that highlights his facial features and expression. Focus on capturing the essence of his kindness, wisdom, and leadership. The portrait should be simplified with smooth, stylized lines, emphasizing his eyes, smile, and iconic facial characteristics. Use subtle shading to create depth while maintaining a modern, graphic, and easily recognizable design. Include a color palette that aligns with MLK Day—preferably warm tones, with contrasts that give the illustration a strong, positive, and inspirational vibe. The design should be suitable for use in a social media post, so ensure it’s clear, impactful, and visually striking."

12. Pasted/embedded images are sporadically appearing or disappearing depending on scroll direction

    When opening an ai file with V29.2 on Windows 11 utilizing a RTX a2000 laptop (Firmware 553.50) embedded and linked images appear and disappear depending on scrolling direction. This renders the program completely unusable. This bug does not appear in V28.7.3

14. Character Information in the Properties Panel does not work

    The following bugs did I found while working with text (selected):
    - Font selection is blank
    - Font search does not give a result
    - Font style does not update
    - Colour does not update or shows a wrong colour

    This all happens even though the Character Panel works fine.

15. 保存後、再度開くと文字スタイルがリセットかつ適用できない箇所が一部発生

    文字スタイルの不具合が２点。
    いずれも、クラウドドキュメント（.aic）で保存したファイルを、次の日開いたら発生。

    1. 適用していた文字スタイル（標準文字スタイル）が解除され、再度どの文字スタイルを選択しても適用されない

    2. 適用していた文字スタイル（標準文字スタイル）の部分が文字化けし、設定していないフォントに書き換えられる

    正直、保存→ファイルを開くだけで、こんな不具合が出るのは非常に困ります。尚且つ、1.の再度文字スタイルが選べない = 復旧できないは致命的です。
    XDに近い、テキストスタイルはとても便利な機能なので、早急に安定活用できるよう改善お願いいたします。

    1. 選択箇所のように、サイズ10級にしていた箇所が、フォント種、サイズなどめちゃめちゃになり、スタイルの再設定もできない

    1. 1.と同様の「標準文字スタイル」箇所が勝手に他のフォントに設定され、尚且つ文字化けを起こしている

16. Extrude on the 3D Materials panel is inaccurate.

    The extrude function does not extrude by the amount I type in.
    It used to work on my desktop but never on my laptop and now it works on neither. It extrudes but by less than a third of whatever I type in. Don't know why this happens or why its started doing it on my desktop too.

    I find it eliminates the usefulness of the whole 3D Materials panel.

17. CPU Preview Forced when Apple Wide Color images placed

    Bug:
    - Place a linked image into an illustrator file that has a color profile of "Apple Wide Color Sharing Profile"
    - Note that the preview mode switches to "CPU" and you are unable to switch back.
    - Restarting Illustrator has no positive effect.

    Workaround:
    - Change the color profile of the placed image to something else like "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" and restart Illustrator.

    Expected Behaviour:
    - Placing an image of any color profile does not change the view mode - - OR - - Illustrator should warn the user that the incoming image contains a color profile that Illustrator will have to adapt to manage, allowing the user to make an informed choice.

    My setup:
    - Illustrator 29.2
    - Mac OS 15.1.1
    - Macbook M4 Pro Max, 64GB RAM, 2TB SSD

    Bug:

18. Why the the FONT i used are NOT LONGER AVALIABLE in Adobe premiere pro?

    Hi Adobe community, a few weeks ago I updated a new Adobe Premiere version and since then the font I was using has changed and I can no longer find it among those available. The fonts I need are: Algerian, BlackadderlITC-Regual, Garamond-Italic, Onyx. I try to find these fonts as if they were extensions from the official Adobe page but I couldn't find the Algerian font in this way either... Can anyone help me or give me advice? Thanks a lot!

    Buenos dias chicos a ustedes no les sucede que cuando van a crear un nuevo documento y ejemplo si tenia la unidad metrica en milimetros y la cambias a centimetros o pulgadas se les regresa a milimetros creo que es algun error en programa o no se, vengo aqui a sugerir ya para que se haga una revision de eso y se pueda corregir, saludo

20. Now the Space Bar Doesn't Work for Text in Mac Sequoia

    Every time I launch AI on a Mac Sequoia OS, something in AI will not work right. This morning, the spacebar no longer adds space between words in text. What's so frustrating is you never know what shortcut/tool will fail when using Adobe products in Mac Sequoia OS. Please fix these problems. Thank you.
