Artboard > Fit to Artwork Bounds with clipping mask and raster effects
Resizing an artboard with Artboard Options -> Preset -> Fit to Artwork Bounds doesn't honor clipping masks or raster effects. The new artboard size includes artwork hidden by clipping mask, and excludes raster effects such as drop shadows.
2 votesIllustrator now honors raster effects such as clipped shadows, and fits to clipping masks instead of their clipped content, when using Fit to Artwork Bounds or Fit to Selected Art commands.
However, there is no option to not do that, and to ignore Use Preview Bounds option in general — the fitting always uses strokes. Import error when trying to export Illustrator settings
When attempting to export my Illustrator Settings (My Settings -> Export Settings...) to a file for backup I receive the error message "An error occurred. Settings were not imported."

Constant Random Crashing
Adobe Illustrator CC 2020; A coworker and I are coming across the same issue where our Illustrator is consistently crashing almost every hour or so throughout the day, seemingly at random. It will happen when trying to select/move an object, when trying to save, when clicking on another window, when clicking on a dropdown, and even when the machine is just sitting here doing nothing on my lunch breaks, it's not a question of if it will crash, it's when.
Sitting behind us is another co-worker who has yet to have this issue happen on his machine, we're all on…

24.0.3 pencil tool is laggy and glitchy
I updated to 24.0.3 a few days ago and my pencil tool has been really fiddly ever since, with a lot of skipping of the first fraction of a second of a new stroke, and a certain amount of picking up my motions after I lift the stylus up, as well. If I undo and draw the same shape again at about half the speed, I get the shape I expect, but this really isn't sustainable in the long run for a workflow based around lots of fast Pencil tool shapes!
I've reverted to 24.0.1 and it's back to normal.…

Bug Report: Saving Design Files as PDFs from Illustrator
When I try to save an Illustrator file as a PDF that I've saved before, Illustrator asks me if I'd like to replace my old file with the new one I'm saving (which is normal). I click okay, and everything looks normal about the save, but Illustrator doesn't actually save over the old file with my new changes, unless I change the name of the file. This seems like a bug. If I ask it to replace my old file upon saving, I really would like it if it did.

Adding Points and deleting point on path does not work after Command Z
When I make a mistake adding a point or deleting point to a path I usually use COMMAND Z to undo. After the Undo I am not able to add a new point to the path. I get an Alert and it blocks me from adding a new point.

illustrator version 24 vector file is too large
Windows 7 Pro - Adobe Illustrator 24.0.2 (2019)
Opening a 2.7 MB Adobe Illustrator 23 (2018) all vector file and saving it.
Expect file size to remain similar or the same
File size of the new version 24.0.2 results in 260 MB
The file is using Gaussian blur. I suspect it is this. The file attached is the 2.7 MB version 23 file.
2 votesThis happens most probably because of the enabled PDF-compatibility option on save, which makes Ai write a PDF copy into the file along with the native Ai format. It helps to other apps to place and use the artwork inside, but it also makes the live raster effects to get rasterized, and it leads to size bloating.
Untick the 'Create PDF Compatible File' option and the file size will stay at 1-3 MB.

Overprint doesn't work on text with 3D effect
I have to use 3D effect (rotation) for some characters, but the overprint doesn't work when the effect is applied… I have to keep the text option more as possible without vecorizing…

embedded images cause longs delays in opening file illustrator 24.0.2
When opening some files with embedded images, there are very long delays before the file finally opens.
I have had success when I flatten the embedded image, it then opens fine.

Comment "S" - Command "W"
If you want to quickly save and close a document using the shortcut keys (command-s) and (command-w), illustrator will save the file but will not close it! And if you then use the shortcut key for closing (command-w) then illustrator closes other open files! WTF?

Feather does not gradient to transparent
When 'feather' is applied to (in my instance) a black box overlaying a colored background, the black appears as a conspicuous grey.

Embedding multiple .psd files
Embedding multiple .psd files no longer works in 2020. Previous versions would allow you to multi-select linked .psd's and embed them all at once. 2020 allows multi-selection, but only converts the first linked image.

"Save As..." behaving like "Save a Copy..."
Mac Catalina, Illustrator 2020. Anyone else experiencing this? Go to do a Save As and it saves a copy instead and keeps you in the original file? So annoying.

Blue background lines on Illustrator 2020
Hello,
I'm having an issue with illustrator 2020. When i start working sometimes the background of a file stars having some blue lines covering all of the canvas. horizontally and vertically.
I'm using the latest release of Mac OSX Catalina on an Imac 2019.

Sometimes click outside artboard to deselect object not working
Illustrator v24.0.2
I don't know what triggers this, but sometimes there's error in selection that causing the object to be highlighted and can't deselect it by clicking outside artboard with selection tool.
This is getting frustrating. I really hope Illustrator get a renewal just by rebuilding the program from scratch without changing the initial tool since the bug is just too much.workaround :
If the object is a grouped object, then double click it to enter isolation mode, and double click again to get out.
If not, then, save and close and re-open the document.2 votes -
crash when saving on Illustrator 24.0.2 with PDF compatible option checked
The size of my work is large (around 2400 x 2400 mm), and every time I save with PDF compatible options checked the window turned white with (not responding) written on it. I even can't save my work properly. what's wrong with you guys.

in Version 24.02 when trying to export a single PDF with all art boards AI will only export single pages, why?
I updated to 24.02 this morning and now I am unable to save PDF files as multi-page documents. No matter what setting I select AI will only export whatever artboard I am currently working on at the time of export. This was not an issue for me yesterday. So frustrated.
