Opacity and location overlaps with gradient bar (Gradient Panel) when expanded state of Gradient panel is docked in workspace
Gradient handles for linear and radial gradient are not responding to user input. Above the gradient input, disabled controls for setting position and opacity of stop are displayed (See screenshot).
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 23.0.6 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

I've tested the latest version of illustrator, but the problem with using gradient in LivePeint is still not fixed. This is very frustrating so I hope you fix this soon. I can't upgrade until this works.

So are you trying to fix it at all?
This gradient panel issue is a nightmare. -

The Gradient panel is unusable. If docked, it gets stuck in a loop when trying to choose color points. When undocked, clicking on a color point causes a hard crash.

Same problem, very annoying. I need to toggle through the different views in order to get it to work ONCE, then it resets to the broken view seen in the screenshot attached. Running latest version of Illustrator and Mojave on a MacBook Pro, 2018.

Same problem. I've been switching between the 2019 and the 2017 version for this reason. Whenever I need to edit/make gradients, I still switch versions which is very inconvenient. Please fix it. I expected so much better service from you, Adobe. It's been months and I've been following every update, hoping it will be fixed already. I really love your applications but this problem is ruining your reputation.

The gradient tool just completely stopped working properly. It looks normal until I select something to add a gradient to, and then the sliders no longer work, nor does the eyedropper. The opacity and location drop downs are suddenly in the middle of the gradient preview. If I close our illustrator and reopen it looks like it's back to normal, but as soon as I try using it- it glitches out.

THIS... for months now... You can get around it with collapsing the palette to closed and re-opening IF you have the fore-ground or background that has a gradient applied active. BUT it is a HUGE PITA.

Same. Has been going on for 3 updates now. At each update I instantly check if this has been fixed, but no.

I'm not alone! This is so irritating. Please fix!
Sometimes it's functions return when you make the panel smaller, however this does not always work.
