1. User guide correction

   Customer support asked that I make this post via their twitter account. I found that the content in the user guide identifying the various symbols and marks of the swatch panel is not accurately labeled. E and F are wrong. They should say LAB and RGB but they instead are calling the icons CMYK AND RGB. Could be highly confusing those just learning the software. Thanks!!

2. Illustrator doesn't find color profile, which are shown in Indesign

   Hi everybody,

   I installed an eci color profile (pso-coated_v3) on my windows 10 computer (right-mouse-click, then install). In Photoshop CC and Indesign CC everything is fine, so it is installed correctly. But the new profile isn't shown in Illustrator CC.

   I reopened Illustrator and also de- and reinstalled it...

   Does anybody has got an idea, why the new profile doesn't show in in the color-settings of Illustrator?

   An installed color profile can be accessed and used like this:

   Edit > Color Settings: Working Spaces, CMYK: choose the profile you need.

   Then go to Edit > Assign Profile and set it.

3. Can't create new artwork

   new button and menu item just start dialog box so can't create any new artwork from scatch

4. Application crash when copy/pasting SVG paths

   I have several logos that were created in Inkscape and saved in SVG format that I now need to edit in Illustrator. However even after re-saving them as AI files, any attempt to copy/paste any part of the SVG paths from the logo results in an immediate application crash.

   Adobe Illustrator CC (latest) Windows 10 64bit

   Steps:
   1. Open the attached AI file (which was converted from SVG by opening then saving in Illustrator).
   2. Select any part of the logo.
   3. Copy using Edit -> Copy or CTRL+C
   4. Paste using Edit -> Paste or CTRL+V
   5. The application will crash immediately or very shortly afterwards.

5. Appearance pallet, 2 top stacks always expand, after use Type Tool

   Illustrator 22.0.0 72@102345, Illustrator 21.1.0 and all previous CC versions

   Steps:
   1. Open Illustrator, new document
   2. Open Appearance Palette (Shift+F6)
   3. Collapse all stacks in Appearance Palette (if they expanded)
   4. Choose Type Tool
   5. Use Type Tool in any place of document
   6. ESC and Click any place of document

   Expected result:
   Appearance Palette Stacks remain minimized (folded)

   Actual result:
   2 top Appearance Palette Stacks are expand (unfolded)

6. Un-tabbed document (i.e. dragged out of application frame) jumping to font

   Mac OS Tahoe 26.5.2
   Illustrator 30.6

   Fairly recent issue following a Mac OS update.

   I have a number of documents open/tabbed in the application frame.

   I drag one out of the application frame in order to work on it while conveniently being able to view another document in the application frame behind.

   I click on the document in the application frame to make an adjustment and the un-tabbed document jumps in front.

   Repeatedly clicking the document in the application frame does eventually give it focus but the un-tabbed document will always randomly jump to the front without me clicking anywhere near it.

   Tried resetting prefs etc. and turning application frame on and off but the issue persists. Using Stage Manager is not an option which works for me.

7. Illustrator CEPHtmlEngine / OnBoarding prevents display sleep on Windows

   Illustrator 2026 30.3.0 on Windows prevents the display from sleeping while Illustrator is running.

   This does not appear as a normal DISPLAY power request:
   powercfg /requests shows DISPLAY: None, except when unrelated Tobii presence detection is running.

   I tested the following:
   - Disabled "Show The Home Screen When No Documents Are Open"
   - Disabled "GPU Performance"
   - Restarted Illustrator
   - Confirmed Illustrator still launches CEPHtmlEngine for com.adobe.illustrator.OnBoarding
   - Left Illustrator.exe running, but terminated only the Illustrator-owned CEPHtmlEngine processes
   - After doing that, the display slept normally after 5 minutes

   The active process command line included:
   com.adobe.illustrator.OnBoarding
   CEPHtmlEngine12-ILST-30.3.0-com.adobe.illustrator.OnBoarding.log

   This suggests com.adobe.illustrator.OnBoarding / CEPHtmlEngine is preventing Windows display sleep without registering as a DISPLAY request in powercfg.

   Illustrator 2026 30.3.0 on Windows prevents the display from sleeping while Illustrator is running.

   This does not appear as a normal DISPLAY power request:

8. Transform

   Subject: Performance issue / Freezing with Transform Effect after v30.6 update

   Description:
   After updating to Adobe Illustrator v30.6, I am experiencing significant lag, freezing, and hanging when using the Appearance > fx > Distort & Transform > Transform effect. This performance degradation was not present in previous versions of the application.

   I use the Transform feature extensively in my templates. Following the latest update, I am encountering this exact same issue across all of my Windows 11 PCs.

   I hope this gets addressed and fixed in the next version update.

9. No reliable AutoSave - Cloud files constantly falling out of sync

   I saw another thread on this from 2023. It is 2026 and this issue persists...
   I am using the latest version of Illustrator on Windows.

   When I work on a new project, sometimes the AIC file simply stops autosaving. For whatever reason, it falls out of sync - which, for me, is not the issue - I guess it's understandable that sometimes files get corrupted, or are too big, or something in the sync fails. I don't understand the technicalities behind it, but I can understand it happens.

   My issue is, the fact that there is no BIG pop up alert letting me know "Your file has stopped autosaving, if something crashes now you will lose all progress", is crazy. For some reason the File Recovery feature doesn't work with AIC files that have fallen out of sync, it only works with local files. So essentially, if i use the cloud, and something crashes (which lets be honest can happen often even on my quite powerful PC), I am sure to lose progress - and with it time and money.
   This, along with the fact there is no longer an AutoSave feature on local files, which I remember existed before the cloud was introduced, makes it so Adobe Illustrator is essentially a program with no reliable AutoSave feature.
   In 2026, and with the constantly climbing pricing that adobe charges me, honestly I can't see how solving this issue wouldn't be at the VERY TOP of the priority list for feature development? What's more frustrating (and costly) than losing progress and having no reliable way to protect myself against it, that doesn't involve putting a reminder to manually save every 10 minutes?

    OS: MacOS 15.7.7 (24G720)
    Illustrator-Version: 30.6
    Illustrator offers just the space characters Quarter, Half-quarter, Twenty-fourth, Eighth.
    Using these space characters in Adobe Illustrator leads to completely different results (spacing) than in Adobe InDesign.
    Is this a program error or a font error?
    I would also like to see the space characters menu expanded to include the Sixth, Eighth, Quarter, Third.

12. 2026 completely misrenders Inner Blur applied to an individual fill.

    If I apply an Inner Glow to an individual fill, I just get a flat fill in the glow color at the desired transparency, with no glow effect going on.

    This is new to 2026, it worked fine in 2025.

    Windows 11、Intuos Pro PTK-470、最新ドライバーを使用しています。Illustrator 30.6ではダイヤルの「ホイール」「ホイール(水平)」がキャンバス上で動作しませんが、29.8.9では正常に動作します。ChromeやIllustratorのパネルでは30.6でも正常です。キャンバスのみ再現します。

14. CEP panel intermittently renders as blank/grey — content composited but never presented (Illustrator 2026 / CEP 12.1 / Apple Silicon)

    Environment

    • Adobe Illustrator 2026 (30.6.0), CEP runtime 12.1 / Chromium 99, AdobeCEP/12.1.0
    • macOS on Apple Silicon; display at fractional HiDPI (CEP logs Zoom Html 1.250000)
    • Custom CEP panel extension (Angular content)

    Symptom

    • Intermittently, on panel open, the panel shows as an empty grey pane and never populates for the remainder of the Illustrator session.

    1. The extension page fully loads and renders: DOM is present, correctly sized, document.visibilityState === 'visible', OnLoadEnd fires. The host bridge works — adobe_cep.evalScript('1+1') returns 2.

    2. The rendered pixels never reach the screen: setting document.body.style.background = 'red' produces no visible change in the panel, and DevTools "Capture screenshot" returns a blank image.

    3. With CEF logging enabled (--enable-logging --v=1 --enable-gpu-service-logging): the GL context initializes successfully and raster commands run continuously, with zero GL/GPU errors. No renderer/GPU process crash is recorded.

    4. The failure is per-panel-instance: in the same Illustrator session, other CEP panels (a sibling extension and Adobe's own OnBoarding panel) render normally.

    5. Not recoverable by: native content resize, forced reflow/recomposite from JS, or closing and reopening the panel. Only a full Illustrator restart clears it (the panel's CEPHtmlEngine/GPU process persists across panel close and stays wedged).

    ==>

    The extension renders correctly but its composited output is never presented to the panel's surface — a compositor/present-path failure inside the CEP CEF runtime, not in the extension.

15. Unknown error NOKY is shown when resizing objects

    I have View Bounding Box checked to be on, but still get this same error when trying to resize anything: "The operation cannot be completed because of an unknown error (NOKY)." I have also trashed Illustrator Cache and Application Support files in the Library. It created new ones but the problem persists.

16. Disabled Corner Widget still flashes when I click any of the bounding box’s controls

    I don’t use Corner Widget (I have superior tools for corners) and thus have it disabled in the View menu.
    However, each time I click (but not drag) side or corner markers of the bounding box, these pesky circles in sharp corners flash at me — like the GIF shows.

    ...why do I click it like this in the first place? I love clicking, I think.

17. ENREGISTREMENT BLOQUÉ à 100% sans qu'il se termine

    Bonjour.
    Actuellement je suis bloqué sur un enregistrement de mon fichier ! Le l'enregistre, le pourcentage augmente et arrivé à 100% plus rien. L'enregistrement ne se termine pas. Et je ne peux rien faire. ça bloque toutes autres actions d'enregistrement. Aucune fenêtre aucun bouton pour arrêter l'enregistrement. Là j'ai 2 solutions bancales pour le sortir de là et éviter de perdre mon travail : copier mes dizaines de plan sur un nouveau fichier et espérer que cela s'enregistre ou dans un désespoir, forcer à quitter le logiciel et espérer que la récupération retrouve mon travail ne sachant pas si je vais perdre ou non les dernières modifications que j'ai réalisé.
    Je précise que c'est pas la première fois que ça arrive. Plus d'une dizaine de cas identiques cette année.

18. Illustrator incorrectly renders scaled transparent PSD images while transparent TIFF renders correctly

    Incorrect edge rendering when scaling transparent PSD images placed in Adobe Illustrator

    Environment
    • Adobe Illustrator (latest Creative Cloud version)
    • macOS (latest version)
    • Fully updated Creative Cloud applications

    Summary
    We found a reproducible rendering issue affecting transparent raster images placed into Illustrator.
    Two files (PSD and TIFF) were created from the exact same source artwork.
    They contain:
    • identical pixel content
    • identical dimensions
    • identical transparency
    The only difference between them is the file format.

    Illustrator renders these files differently when they are placed and scaled.

    Steps to reproduce
    1 Open the attached example.ai.
    2 The document contains two linked versions of the same image:
    ◦ PSD
    ◦ TIFF
    3 Scale each image to different percentages (for example 90%, 75%, 50% and 25%).
    4 Zoom in and inspect the edges.

    Actual result
    PSD:
    • Visible dark edge pixels appear.
    • The artifact becomes stronger as the placed image is scaled further away from 100%.

    TIFF:
    • No artifact.
    • Correct edge rendering at every tested scale.

    Expected result
    All two images should render identically regardless of source file format.

    Additional observations
    • At 100% placed size, the PSD renders correctly.
    • The artifact begins to appear as soon as the placed PSD is scaled.
    • The further the scaling deviates from 100%, the stronger the artifact becomes.
    • No export is required.
    • The issue is already visible immediately inside Illustrator.
    • Exported PDF or raster files simply inherit the incorrect rendering already present in Illustrator.
    • The issue can be reproduced using only a transparent raster image with 0% feather edges.
    • The issue is independent of object color.

    Workaround
    Replacing the PSD with a transparent TIFF completely eliminates the problem.
    Tested successfully with:
    • TIFF (None)
    • TIFF (LZW)
    • TIFF (ZIP)
    Attached files
    • example.ai
    • 6%.psd (Unfortunately the UserVoice attachment system does not allow PSD uploads.)
    • 6%LZW.tif
    • examplerendering_issue.png

    Additional note
    During my investigation I found an older Adobe Community discussion titled:
    “Black Edges on placed Ai and PSD transparency files”
    In that discussion Adobe Principal Scientist Dov Isaacs confirmed that an internal bug report had been filed.
    We can still reproduce what appears to be the same issue in the latest Illustrator release.
    The attached files provide a much simpler and deterministic reproduction case than the original discussion.

    • Adobe Illustrator (latest Creative Cloud version)
    • macOS (latest version)
    • Fully updated Creative Cloud applications

    Summary
    We found a reproducible rendering issue affecting transparent raster images placed into Illustrator.
    Two files (PSD and TIFF) were created from the exact same source artwork.
    They contain:
    • identical pixel content
    • identical dimensions
    • identical transparency
    The only difference between them is the file format.

    Illustrator renders these files differently when they are placed and scaled.

20. Illustrator 30.5.1 started freezing

    Since most recent update, Illustrator keeps freezing for no explainable reason. There is no pattern to the freeze, but need to force quit to move forward. Auto save is not saving to the same point. Very frustrating.
