1. color on screen looks different if cmyk or spot

   this is a problem i found in illustrator, indesign and photoshop cc.
   i create a gradient, say from 100% to 0% of cyan (c100 m0 y0 k0). (the color is not important)
   than i create another gradient, from 100% to 0% of cyan (c100 m0 y0 k0), but spot color.
   than i active 'overprint preview'.
   on screen, the 2 color look different, and it's wrong.
   we have the same color, the same gradient, so it MUST look the same.

2. CMYK values changes

   On opening existing file and embedded profile mismatch, selecting "Convert document's colors to the working space" will change K=100% to black defined in all CMYK values.
   However opening the file keeping embedded profile and hereafter assign the profile keeps the values intact.

3. Opacity bug

   AI CC 2018
   I turned the opacity down on a selection to see below layers. Then I went to work on below layers. Upon returning to original layer and re-selecting the object to return it to 100% opacity it showed I was already at 100%. I could not get it back to 100% until I copied and pasted the object to a new layer.

   Hi,

   It seems like opacity is applied on the Layer and not on the object inside that layer. It is possible that the user is selecting object inside the layer and not the layer itself. Hence the user is able to see the opacity of object which is 100% in this case and not the changed opacity of layer.

4. Touch Bar Color Controls are Broken

   Touch bar controls do not change the color of objects when using sliders, and swatches save to touch bar but not to actual swatches panel. Cannot delete swatches from Touch Bar.

5. Recent colors become None when Global or Spot Colors are used

   Some Recent Colors are displayed as the None Swatch when Spot or Global colors have been added to the Recent Colors.
   Turn on in the Edit > Color Settings all checkboxes for warnings about Mismatches or Missing profiles.
   The default is unchecked. When they are unchecked, you will get no warning when opening a file with Global (or Spot) Colors in the Recent Colors and the file just opens without showing the problem.
   When you have turned the warning checkboxes On in the Color Settings and have Quit Illustrator after adding the Global or Spot Colors in the Recent Colors, you get a warning about a Missing Profile (which is not true) when you create or open a file while the Global (or Spot) Colors are still in the Recent Colors (they are available across documents). If you click OK the file opens, just as it would with the warnings off. The warning will not show again during the current session. But if you click Cancel (as many times as the number of Global/Spot Colors that you have in your Recent Colors). The file will open with the recent Global/Spot Colors converted to None.

6. Recent Colors is adding the [None] swatch as K=0 and apply white

   When fill is focused, setting [None] adds the white (K=0) chip into Recent Colors sections.
   Doesn’t happen for strokes.

7. Swatch Info renders a saved tint as yet another copy of the main global color

   The feature doesn't work correctly with tints for global colors.
   When a new tint of a global color is saved into Swatches, it gets displayed as an un-tinted one by Swatch Info, as the image shows.

8. Swatches Info doesn’t work for the only swatch selected

   If you only have 1 swatch selected you can’t create a Swatches Info from the Swatches panel’s menu. The only way to make it work is to make it 2 colors, select them and create the object, and then remove the unneeded color card from it manually.

   Ai Beta now allows creating Swatch Info for one swatch only

9. Conversion from CMYK to Grayscale is wrong

   Converting CMYK values to Grayscale will not give the expected result. C=50 M=50 Y=50 K=50 converts to 100% Grayscale in a CMYK document.
   The same C=50 M=50 Y=50 K=50 converted to R: 92 G: 81 B: 76
   in an RGB document it converts to 67,16% Grayscale, which looks more like the expected Gray value.

11. Preview checkbox in swatch options does not enable the first time it is checked

    The 'Preview' checkbox in the swatch options does not work the first time it is enabled. Steps to replicate:

    1. Create an object and apply a swatch to it.
    2. With the object selected, double-click the swatch to open the swatch options.
    3. If the 'Preview' checkbox is ticked, untick it, close the options window and then open it again.
    4. Tick the 'Preview' checkbox
    5. Adjust the swatch using the colour sliders

    Result: the object does not change on canvas to reflect the swatch definition while the window is open
    Expected result: the object changes on canvas to reflect the swatch definition

    Unticking 'Preview' and then ticking it again restores the expected behaviour.

12. Color guide options reset to default on Illustrator restart

    1. Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.2486
    2. Illustrator 27.2
    3. Open Color Guide Options from Color Guide panel -> customize Steps and/or Variation value -> close and open Illustrator
    4. Expected: Color Guide panel remembers options Result: options reset to default values (4 steps, 100% variation) so you have to re-enter them every time you start Illustrator

13. Opening Harmony Rules in the Color Guide crashes AI 27.2

    Lately when opening the color guide and clicking on any of the non default harmony rules instantly crashes Illustrator with a segfault. This is happening on several AI files. I am on macOS 13.1 and AI 27.2 on an intel mac. I have attached the crash report from macOS.

14. The name "Black" is automatically blocked when creating global swatches

    If you create a new global color swatch, regardless of the breakdown, the name "Black" is automatically blocked. The name "White" is not.

    It seems silly to call this issue out, but I've prepared logo libraries for eight and a half years now, and this has been an ongoing consideration. When I create a black swatch, there is always an extra step. Sometimes I intentionally misspell the name to create the swatch, or I create a non-global swatch with the correct name, but in both scenarios I have to adjust the swatch AFTER it is created to produce a black global swatch with the name "Black." The same extra step is not required for a white global swatch with the name "White."

    A comparison of my workflow below—

    Black Global Swatch:
    1. Remove all swatches from the file
    2. In the Color palette, click the 'Black' color shortcut
    3. In the Swatches palette, either click the 'New Swatch' shortcut at the bottom or select "New Swatch..." from the menu
    4. In the New Swatch dialog box, change the default name (depending on color mode, either "R=0 G=0 B=0" or "C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100") to "Black"
    5. Check the 'Global' checkbox
    6. Select "OK"
    7. No swatch appears in the Swatches palette

    White Global Swatch:
    1. Remove all swatches from the file
    2. In the Color palette, click the 'White' color shortcut
    3. In the Swatches palette, either click the 'New Swatch' shortcut at the bottom or select "New Swatch..." from the menu

15. Color guide issue/bug

    When I click on color in "color guide" it doesn't work. So shape has (let's say) "old" color. I can click on "new" color 10 times and nothing happen. Some colors works, some colors doesn't response.
    PLEASE FIX.

16. Saving to Creative Cloud is Changing My Patterns

    This has to do with repeating patterns. I'm using Adobe Illustrator 2021, desktop.
    Attached is a picture of 2 circles on a background (shield your eyes, it isn't pretty :-)). When I make the pattern - in this case, the circles were drawn with the blob brush - the inside of the 2 circles is empty and we can all see the background. It's a ring. When I pull that pattern out of swatches, however, it will color in that background. In this one, it's black. It changes depending on the pattern and the colors I'm using. And it is not consistent. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it happens to just some motifs in a design and not others.
    After countless tries to figure out what it is, it does appear to be that patterns saved to Adobe's Creative Cloud will have this happen, whereas if I save it to my computer, it will not. Thank you for the help!

18. Swatch Conflict Dialog, Apply to All checkbox not working

    After checking the Apply to all checkbox when I get a swatch conflict, the box keeps popping up with more conflicts. Esc key doesn't end it. Haven't seen this before v25.

19. Eyedropper making everything white

    When I select a shape and try to use the eyedropper tool to make it the same color as another shape it turns white. All of my layers are unlocked and visible so I am not sure what it going on.

20. Color Nightmares in 2021 version!! Nothing matches or stays the same!

    Colors are NOT staying the same between HEX values and RGB settings in Illustrator 2021. WE are having a major shitstorm here on this as we are finalizing a Brand Manual and NOTHING is matching of staying the same when we reopen the file. HELP!!!!

    And some RGB colors are showing up as BLACK in the color sliders when they are NOT black at all!
