XMPMeta is not defined on ILST 28.7.1 on MacOS #515
As of ILST 28.7.1 on MacOS, XMPMeta has stopped working. However, it works fine on:
- ILST 28.7.1 on Windows
- ILST 28.6 on MacOsThe issue also exists on ILST (Beta) 29.1 on MacOs.

Add Used Colors command in Swatches ignores colors from Repeat objects
Repeat Objects are strange objects.
If we choose Add Used Color, color from the repeat object are ignored.

Select All Unused in Swatches selects colors used in Repeat objects
Repeat Objects are strange objects.
If colors are only inside a repeat object, using Select All Unused will select the swatches even when use in the repeat object.

Font explorer dropdown from the Character section in Properties panel is obscured by other panels with 2 columns of docked panels
Running 30.2.1
When the new Character panel is open and font has been selected, the panel is now so big that it becomes obscured if I open a property on the second panel, so I cannot make further font adjustments without closing the second panel.
It seems the properties panel process is selective for some properties and not for others, e.g., Transform opens in both panels, whereas Appearance does not. The UX seems inconsistent. Something feels off.

Dashed strokes with round caps and zero dash lengths (dotted dash) looks very imprecise when using Large Canvas, with GPU Preview
A 1 pt stroke with 0 dash length, when created within a large canvas file, looks chewed. When expanded, the points get baked like this.
CPU Preview shows these correct, but expanding it still creates dancing points.
Doesn’t happening in a normal canvas sized docs.Large canvas should become stable finally. So many bugs with it!

A very thin variable stroke appears shifted
When I reduce the stroke width to a very thin value, the stroke no longer appears center-aligned and instead shifts to one side.

Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool
Illustrator changes text after modifying a text box with White Arrow tool. Its been happening for a few weeks. I work in a professional big corporate company and its changing my layouts after I am doing changes and it is really problematic.
This needs fixing right away. In packaging if some text is changed after I make layout changes it can have serious legal ramifications.

Illustrator slow and laggy with text
When I'm trying to edit a text box, illustrator turns very slow and laggy. With a simple text box. When I try to change font size, or writting, it takes ages to assume it. And the document turns very slow.
Please help with this issue

Join tool creates bezier curves on straight lines
Windows 11 Home, 25H2
Adobe Illustrator, v29.8.4I connect straight lines together with the Join tool. In those corners I expect the lines to be straight lines on both sides of the node, but in some places I get Bezier curves. I really don't want that as this forces me to go over every node that was formed.
The next issue is that during the Join tool process it adds one node (always only one for some reason). I then have to localize it and delete it. That's very frustrating.

As I create hundreds of these and sometimes more complex pattern It is really annoying and stressful form my hand to be so precise in my movements (to hit each node). Only for very simple pattern it doesn't create that extra node, but I still have to check for Bezier curves.
The simple rule should be, once a straight line, always a straight line.

Like the title says — make the Command and Space (zoom) work again while the Perspective Grid is active.

Swatches panel not correctly displaying "Registration Black" swatch label, showing random characters, in a template file
Opening up a company template .ait file and Swatches panel not displaying "Registration Black", but instead showing random characters. Wanted to know cause, if can be prevented, and/or corrected. Also if this is just some odd bug.
We do have a central server location to access file since we do have in-office and remote workers. Everyone is instructed though regardless of location to grab files and work locally, but can not guarantee that this is done 100% of the time.

However, it is just the value does not get updated in the pop up panel. The transformation change on the object happens fine and is reflected properly in the properties panel as well. Let us know if you are experience similar behavior or not.

Spot Colors Won't Update In Linked Items
Spot Colors are not immediately updating for linked items when adjusting the color values of the swatch. The change will only show after a few seconds, when the file is embedded, or when overprint preview is enabled. Previous versions of illustrator allowed spot colors to be updated for linked items immediately. Spot color adjustments only immediately affect objects that are embedded or built within the file.
Using illustrator for color separations requires me to edit the appearance of spot white to be visible in different circumstances between film and art files.

Text object becomes corrupted and cannot apply gradient or appearance
Illustrator on Windows 11 sometimes turns normal point text into a broken area text object.
When this happens:
- “Convert to Point Type” does not appear
- The text behaves like a text box even though it was created as point text
- The Appearance panel cannot add a new fill (button is greyed out)
- Applying a gradient turns the text completely black
- Copy/paste keeps the corrupted state unless pasted as plain textThis issue forces me to recreate text manually and interrupts my workflow.

Windows Explorer freezes when Saving As PDF
- Fresh install of Windows 10 Pro. Fully up-to date (as of Feb. 27, 2026). DXdiag attached.
- Illustrator 30.2.1 (64-bit) ** Only Illustrator and Photoshop installed (via Creative Cloud application)
- Open AI file
- Save as.. PDF
- Choose a PDF option, click Save
- Click Windows Start Menu icon (or any other icon on the task bar) - Windows task bar (explorer.exe) will be unresponsive
- To remedy, Ctrl-Alt-Del and open Task Manager -> Right-click Windows Explorer -> Restart
I literally have to do this every time I start Illustrator. It then seemingly stay stable for awhile, but then will randomly lock up Windows Explorer again after working for awhile. It seems to most often happen when using the Type tool, and clicking on other parts of the Workspace.
This is infuriating, and has caused me to entirely reinstall the Operating System to try to find a remedy. Nothing has worked.

Beschreibung des Problems:
Wenn in einer Illustrator-Datei ein Bild platziert und als Verknüpfung (nicht eingebettet) eingefügt wird und diese Illustrator-Datei anschließend wiederum in eine zweite Illustrator-Datei platziert oder eingebettet wird, erscheint das verknüpfte Bild aus der ersten Datei in der zweiten Datei nicht mehr.
Das Bildfeld bleibt leer, obwohl die Verknüpfung korrekt vorhanden ist.
Erwartetes Verhalten (wie in früheren Versionen):
In vorherigen Illustrator-Versionen wurden verknüpfte Bilder innerhalb einer platzierten .ai-Datei korrekt angezeigt, auch wenn diese Datei in einer weiteren Illustrator-Datei verwendet wurde.Aktuelles Verhalten:
Verknüpfte Bilder aus der ursprünglichen Datei werden in der zweiten Datei nicht dargestellt.Workaround:
Aktuell funktioniert die Darstellung nur, wenn alle Bilder in der ersten Illustrator-Datei vollständig eingebettet werden. Dies ist jedoch workflow-technisch problematisch, da Verknüpfungen bewusst zur Dateigrößen- und Assetverwaltung genutzt werden.Zusammenfassung:
