  1. Can't Select behind objects

    The following instructions do not work. I need this function...

    Select behind objects

    In Illustrator, you can select objects that lie underneath other objects using Ctrl+click (Windows) or Command+click (Mac OS). The pointer changes to Select Behind on the first Ctrl+click (Windows) or Command+click (Mac OS). On subsequent usage of Ctrl+click (Windows) or Command+click (Mac OS), the selection iterates through the objects directly underneath the pointer position.

  2. 3D Revolve Clipping

    3D Revolve is clipping the front faces. I can get the faces to appear when the object is in a different rotation, when it object is parallel with the view. I've tried this with both a normal path and a compound path.

    I think the plane the 3D object is being rendered to is too far forward.

  3. Ai files saved on Windows loose their preview when changing extension to .ait

    To prevent accidentally saving over common library files (stock graphics and the like) we save our artwork files as .ai, then change the extension to .ait so that they will open as an untitled file. There are a couple of reasons I do things this way instead of saving them as .ait files from the get go.

    The main reason is that it's not uncommon that I'll need to run a batch script on several files. As part of that batch, I open the file, make some change(s), then save the file. If the files are initially saved as a…

  4. When I open Illustrator files the screen is filled with black and grey lines.

    I have been working on a project on illustrator and after a few days of working on it I open the file to see this screen filled with gray and black lines. None of the options on the top are visible and all the tools and properties windows are missing.

    Windows 10 Pro - Illustrator 24.1.2

    I tried opening the file from the illustrator menu, from file explorer and tried creating a new .ai file as well.

    I expected to resume working on my project.

  5. Pressing Ctrl + Win sends the active object backward

    If you have at least 2 objects on the artboard and the top one is selected, pressing Control + the Windows key on Windows 10 sends the active object backward one step. It's a keyboard shortcut that doesn't appear to be editable in Keyboard Shortcuts in case it interferes with that shortcut being used for something else.

  6. Properties panel broken since last update

    Since the last update the Properties panel is broken. Even if there is enough room for all information in the panel, it shows up cropped, with a scrollbar on the side. I have to drag the panel out of it’s window and then back again to fix this, every time I start Illustrator.

  7. Illustrator crashes when using certain tools, when macbook goes to sleep, when left on too long, when selecting items (CMD+A)

    Going mad trying to fix this bizzare problem on my new 2019 Macbook pro.

    Since maybe last month, illustrator has been crashing more and more frequently, and at the strangest of times. I have everything almost exactly the same on my 2018 Macbook Pro and Illustrator is totally fine on that one. I can't quite figure out what is going wrong with this laptop.

  8. Illustrator Recent Files list on the welcome page is not updated until the application restart

    The Recent Files list on the Welcome page is not updated until Illustrator restart. E.g. you can create some new files and save them but they do not appear in the Recent Files welcome page. But they do appear if you restart the application.

  9. Reflect Tool

    The Reflect Tool doesn't remember the last setting, (e.g. vertical 90º) and instead puts in a random angle.

  10. Views not updating, tabs not updating.

    Views will simply stop updating in Illustrator. Outline view shows geometry that does not display in GPU preview mode.

    Similarly, when changing from document tab to tab, the window will "freeze" on one document and refuse to show the newly-selected document.

    None of this is remotely acceptable. I pay for and use the Adobe Suite as a professional tool, and I can't have daily failures. Trust in your products is swiftly eroding.

    Please advise a quick and permanent fix for these issues.

  11. Text path vanishes when moving it with selection tools (black or white arrows)

    Since updating to version 24.1.2 from Adobe Illustrator 2019, whenever I move text objects using any of the selection arrows, the highlighted path disappears during moving and only reappears when I stop moving the text object. This is frustrating as I can't see the baseline or centre point of the text object while trying to align it to something else. This never happened before I updated Illustrator. My OS is macOS Mojave 10.14.6, Illustrator version 24.1.2.

  12. Scripting: move selection to layer doesn't work if layer is not visible

    When moving selected elements to a layer, if that layer's visibility is set to false, it reports that it cannot move elements to a locked layer. However, it's not locked, it's just not visible. I do this all the time by physically dragging to a layer that is not currently visible. I was able to work around it by setting visibility to true, moving the elements, then making it false again, but it seems like a bug.

  13. Icon enlarge for no reason

    This has been a little bit of a problem. I have latest version of Adobe Illustrator version 24.1.2 running macOS Catalina 10.15.4. It a little annoying and I thought the next update would have solve the issue but it did not. Here is a bug that is strange. Thanks!

    This option only works when you are viewing your documents as outline using CPU mode only, not GPU. While this is a known problem, voting for this issue is important for the team to estimate the importance of this limitation.

  15. Stop Illustrator from increasing file size by 400% when exporting artwork in 300ppi resolution

    Illustrator currently increases the size of a file by 400% when using the "Export As" option and choosing to save at 300ppi resolution instead of 72ppi resolution. We tried several times exporting as PNG for an Artboard that was 5000px wide but the program saved the file at 20000px wide because we chose to save at 300ppi resolution. We contacted support and they stated that this was a "feature" of the application and cannot be changed.

  16. Ofset path bug in 24.1 version - horrible metric precision...

    Problem with dimensions after using offset path. Just look - if you have square 100 x 100 mm, and want to make -4 mm offset path - new square is not 92 x 92mm, but... 92.0001 x 92.0001. This is nightmare. See attached. Adobe, I hope this bug will be fixed?

  17. Everytime creative cloud app is required to reactivate the fonts

    I activated 2 new fonts from adobe fonts website and it worked well.
    After that I closed Ai and next day when I opened Ai again then it's showing missing fonts and there is no way to activate them from Ai.
    I have to start creative cloud app always to reactivate these fonts. This is very annoying and killing a lot of time. Also it takes ages to start creative cloud app even on fast internet connection. This also needs improvement.

  18. Fix Illustrator quitting 'unexpectedly' 10 times a day.

    Illustrator is only getting more buggy. Will start looking for other programs soon. Fix what you have, quit adding more problems. I want to be a graphic designer, not a software technician. Unexpectedly quits. Unexpectedly quits. Unexpectedly quits. Then I have to do your work to troubleshoot. What am I paying for? A buggy program that quits all the time and then I have to spend valuable time solving your problem. Seems to me with it quitting all the time, I shouldn't have to pay such a high premium for unreliable performance.
