Still not able to paste (Cmd + V) text when creating a new folder in Save As / Save a Copy / Export As dialog box in Ai 2020
In the latest update the copy and paste option is fixed when trying to do it in the save as dialog box. But if I try to create a new folder with the save as dialog box open I still cannot cmd+v to paste text into the field.
This issue was reintroduced in MacOS update Ventura. The team ran into another issue while implementing the workaround suggested by Apple. While the team revisits this issue, users can use workaround this issues by paste through context menu. Thank you all for the patience.

When I try to create a new folder with the save as dialog box open I still cannot cmd+v to paste text into the field. This KNOWN BUG has been "under review" for almost TWO AND A HALF YEARS. Any word on if/when you ever plan to fix it?
Currently running macOS 12.3.1 Monterey and Illustrator 26.3.1 on various model macs. none of that matters, it's a coming up on 3 year known bug.

Agreed! When will it be fixed..? I find it a major disruption to the workflow. Fixing it would streamline what is a currently clunky file creation/saving system. Funny thing is inDesign has this function, no dramas..! Go figure!?!

Yes, filing systems are majorly laborious, having to constantly go back to the folder to copy/paste the file name into its folder's name, multiple times, daily!
Makes for more work and potential file mix-ups and mismanagement.
Please get onto this user issue ASAP!
Thanks.

Same here. macOS 11.5.1 Adobe Illustrator 25.3.1.
When I copy text in Illustrator document I can't paste it in Save As dialog as file name.
Also, in Save As dialog the file name is not selected. This is awkward when you want to save a file with a different file name.
When the file name is selected, the extension is also selected. I used to be able to add tect to a file name easily by tapping the left arrow key, the cursor would moeve between the file name and extension. Now it moves to the and of the file name including the extension. So I have to move 3-4 positions back and then add text or a number. Very annoying!!!

This is still happening and it's incredibly frustrating. Big Sur, Illustrator 25.2.1
I need this fix for work, it slows down productivity and increases the chances of human error when dealing with numerical filenames.

It's a huge pain when you're used to the keyboard shortcuts. Stopping to get your mouse, mouse over to the box, right click, then sometimes accidentally hit "Copy" instead of paste and now you have the default box text in your clipboard, ugh, start over... I use this feature 100 times a day in my design business. Come on guys, this is why we pay a ton of money each year for subscriptions. So you can fix this stuff quickly and roll it out... Do your part, we are doing ours with our $$

As of March 2021 still not fixed. Reported over 9 months ago. That's way too long.

If you use a right mouse click it works just not command+v

I'm having the same issue! The Catalina update messed this up in Illustrator, but InDesign and Photoshop work just fine.

What is the point of having a feedback forum when Adobe continues to ignore the feedback given. It has been well over a year since this problem surfaced, and every update I am checking to see if the problem has been fixed, but nothing. This is a super amateur problem, and it's extremely frustrating from a consumer perspective to have to deal with it. As a production artist, this slows my production down significantly. Get with it Adobe!
