  1. Illustrator can't read it's own files properly

    Looses bitmap figure embedded in .ai file, reports the bitmap is missing when opening. While other software opens the file just right. Including Adobe Acrobat, Gmail preview, apple finder preview and Affinity Designer.

    I made a file using Adobe illustrator, this file contains two jpg images. When I save the file and open it using illustrator on two different computers, a dialoge appears complaining the jpgs are missing and offer to replace them.
    Oddly other software packages read the same file just fine, INCLUDING the allegedly missing jpg images, and in good quality.

  2. Unembed flattened Link, needs warning that it will save over layered file.

    You need to warn/remind users that the flattened link (that they chose to do when they first embedded their link), if they then save their "unembed" file back to the original link location of the original layered source file, they will be saving a flat version over the top.

  3. Linked images are embed after exported as assets

    AI 22.0.1

    Hi All,

    images linked in a document when exported as assets are automatically embedded. That means that a document increase its weight suddenly making it unusable and extremely weight.

    Please fix this behavior, images linked must continue to be linked.

  6. Export as PNG not working in iOS

    V 22.0.1 on iOS thru Creative Cloud will no longer let me Export As PNG or JPG. I've checked for updates and there are none. I've tried a restart on my MacBook Pro and the Creative Cloud. I can't figure out what is wrong. I really need to be able to do this.

  7. When I try to save a file, I am told my file is a "read only" copy

    I use Illustrator version 20.0.0 (2015.3)

    I have not experienced this problem until very recently.

    After I have saved a file, when I make changes to it that I want to save, I am told I cannot, as it is a read-only copy.

    I have already checked the properties of my file, and it is NOT "read-only."

  9. Files Breaking on Save after creating Saved Swatch Library

    Illustrator v22.0.1: We use art tiles to create repeat prints for textile printing. There is a bug that cause my original .eps files to become garbled after I have used that .eps file to create a saved swatch library. STEP1.png shows the original art file and its save options. STEP2.png shows creating a pattern from the art and its associated settings. STEP3.png shows saving the swatch library (I removed all of the standard Illustrator swatches as they are unnecessary for the custom swatch library).   10. PDF file objects and font look different than in the .ai file

    Hello!

    I am having an issue with Illustrator that no one from Adobe could fix so far after several tries and more than a few weeks. I have recently been working on a batch of packages (both in CC 2017 and CC 2018) and every time I save the .ai to PDF (any of the versions 6,5,4 etc.) some strange things happen (sometimes all of them, sometimes only one):
    - the font seems bolder than it actually looks in the .ai file (even if it is converted to outlines or not) - img 11 - 13 (from 2 different files…

  12. PDF does not preserve Illustrator editing capabilities!!

    I upgraded two days ago to the new version of Illustrator. I've been saving PDFs with 'Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities' for years. Now when I do it, it's flattening the PDFs and not allowing editing as normal. It has totally ruined two of my complex files and I've lost hours of work.

    Has anyone else had this problem or know of a fix?

    So frustrating!

  13. Saving PDF Security override by gmail

    Dear sir or madam,

    I've noticed as i saved PDF in CS6 to send to a Client and i used password protection with no permissions (printing, copying....)

    And the thing is, if you open the email att. in this case My protected PDF in gmail preview - you can print it with no problems. And if you print to a PDF file, you get the same PD minus the Password protection.

    I think this could be a big issue.

    So i see google's gmail now as an easy fool proof password hack tool.

  14. "Preview in Browser" resets to Safari

    "Preview in Browser" option in save for web window is resets to Safari everyday(After restart). Several times I tried selecting Google Chrome and set as default in browser menu, but chrome is getting removed from the browser menu automatically after I restart the Illustrator.

    Please contact Apple support. macOS controls the default browser setting. You can validate the default browser by double clicking any html file on your system.

  15. illustrator 2018

    Today i installed Illustrator last version.

    When we click a smart object in photoshop, illustrator open bit doesnt open the vector we are trying to work from smart object.

  16. Bitmaps not coping over from Ai to Xd in version 2018, had to revert to 2017.

    Fix version 2018 to also copy bitmaps with vector art in Ai and past it directly in Xd, as with version 2017.

  18. Export Artboards "Name" Error

    I exported first one Artboard of 2 or 3 in the beginnning of a design process, the changed the names in the end of all 3 artboards to the projectname. The first artboard still kept the original name ("artboard 01" or else) so i had to rename by hand this file. Pretty weird.

  19. CC 2018 PGN Exporting looking worse than CC 2017

    When using Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 back then, exporting a HUGE resolution, Inked Lineart via File->EXport As->PNG-> High 300 ppi + Art Sampled + Transparent..

    Whenever i open that file on Photoshop CC 2017, the line art looks CRISP, stylish, soft, with no dead pixels like showing off..And Photoshop CC 2017 detects it with a 19kx20k Resolution.

    NOW, when using THE SAME EXPORT SETTINGS but on illus' CC 2018, the exporting looks instant...Oh yeah, great... But when i open it on PSCC2017....The lineart looks VERY THIN, 1px like, with greyed out dead pixels.

    Please do NOT break out what's working…

  20. Save command does not include latest edits

    Illustrator 2018. First day using this and its extremely buggy, while working on a drawing, everytime I hit save it takes the file back several steps (like a shortcut for multiple undo's). What makes this even more annoying is that you cannot access any redo. Its as though hitting save deletes the latest memory cache of the changes you've made in the previous 10 minutes.
