  1. UI scales are off even after adjustment - icons, ruler, menu

    The ruler always seems to get hidden after updates but also it is very small relative to the icons and file menu.

    This means at 100% UI scale the ruler is too small but at medium (doesn't say what % for some reason) the ruler is too big and icons are way too big.

    This only became an issue when I started using higher resolution monitors (anything greater than 1920x1080). So my guess is it has something to do with a relationship with Windows 10 GUI and Illustrator.

  2. Image trace does not limit colors in grayscale

    When using the grayscale mode in image trace and limiting the number of colors image trace creates an unlimited range of grays. I selected ten grays, expanded, and when clicking "re-color artwork", more grays than I would waste time counting are shown (at least 50, but maybe more).

  3. Pattern Seam issues with Adobe Capture patterns

    when using adobe capture patterns there is a transparent seam in the pattern, I am able to remove the seam by change the width of the pattern but its only a temporary fix as soon as I change the pattern the seam comes back. This issue only seams to happen in illustrator, because when I use the same patterns in photoshop there is no gap between patterns

    Steps to replicate:

    1. use adobe capture to create a pattern.
    2. create a shape in illustrator

    3. open the libraries tab and insert the pattern
      where lines/ spaces appear in-between the pattern

  4. Adobe Illustrator 2021 desktop cannot open .aic file from cloud on Windows

    I saved a file I was working on to Adobe Creative Cloud two days ago and can't open it or an older version of it. When I try to download it I receive the message "Fehler beim Herunterladen" [Error downloading] (German PC), same with an older version. When I try "in Illustrator öffnen" [open in illustrator] Illustrator will start, but the file won't open and nothing else happens. If I already have another (local) file open in Illustrator, I will shortly see the message (screenshot 1)

  5. Transform>Reflect defaulting to random angle

    At some point in the last week (version 25.0.1) right clicking on a selection and applying "Transform>Reflect" opens up the reflect UI panel but instead of defaulting to horizontal or vertical, it's defaulting to "Angle" and a completely random number. Constantly having to correct this is a right faff.

    It's tricky to recreate but has happened multiple times over the last few days. In this case reflecting a cat 50.9 degrees!?

    Maybe I'm just the only one!

  6. Illustrator 2021 - Restart Illustrator to auto-recover files doesn't work

    Illustration 2021 25.0.1 version constantly crashing.

    On restarting Illustrator app auto-recovery process doesn't work - It doesn't open up the unsaved files with the Recovered suffix as on previous versions.

  7. Merge button in Pathfinder panel works incorrectly

    Merge button in Pathfinder now works the same as Trim. It cuts out invisible parts of objects but leaves them separated. Merge should unite shapes with same color. This is one of most used operations when creating logos and it is now broken. Sad.

    Merge effect however works correctly, so current workaround is to group objects together, apply Effect > Pathfinder > Merge, then use Object > Expand Appearance.

    Steps to reproduce:
    Create two red and one blue rectangle. All without stroke.
    Position them so they slightly overlap each other.

  10. 25.0.1 Colour still wrong

    NOT AN IDEA—A BUG!

    The colour settings are still incorrect in the newest update.
    Totally unusable software, so back to version 24 again.

    The image on the right is correct from version 24. How that file displays in 25.0.1 is in the middle and the image on the left is the same jpeg as on the right imported into 25.0.1…!!!!

    3 totally different interpretations of the same colour. Insane.

  11. Appearance: Empty Stroke blocks Fill

    When applying a colour to a selection, sometimes this has no effect. While both the Color and the Appearance panel reflect the chosen colour, the object doesn't.

    Most of the time the (unlogical) cause seems to be a Stroke without colour.
    When changing the order in Appearance to having the Fill on top, the colour appears.

    Please make an uncoloured stroke of no influence on underlying fills.

  12. Copy & Paste not working from Illustrator to Photoshop

    Copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop no longer works. When attempting to paste in Photoshop, Photoshop gives this response..."could not complete the paste command because the clipboard data is empty or invalid". I recently updated to Illustrator CC 24.1 and Photoshop CC 21.1 running on Mac OS High Sierra v. 10.13.6 This functionality worked flawlessly on the previous versions of Illustrator and Photoshop, but no longer works with the update. I've tried trashing prefs and restarting the computer, but to no avail. Is there a fix for this?

  13. Dragging a bounding box corner rotates instead of scaling

    I recently updated to the latest version and at the same time discovered this issue. When moving my mouse over to the corner or center of an object, to grab those white scaling boxes, i am given the icon to scale said object, however when i click and drag the object rotates instead. its very frustrating as all icons and tool use indicates it should scale but surprise it rotates.

  14. CC 2021 freezing on or right after start after working just fine for 3 weeks

    Hello,
    I worked for 3 weeks just fine with PS, AI and InDesign (all CC 2021) and then one evening the applications won't open again. They are freezing when starting up or crashing right after the start. I have changed nothing on my system, have installed no new software or anything I could imagine causing this behavior. Looking for help I browsed the internet and found that for many people only reinstalling the CC2020 applications helped. So I did that because I had work to finish.   17. Cannot Export Print Quality PNG from Illustrator 2021 Mac OS Catalina

    Every time I try to export my large print quality files from Illustrator as .png, I get an error message. The Operation Cannot Complete Because of an Unknown Error [!now] I am trying to maintain the 300dpi quality because this is how my printer accepts files. (As .png.) My Illustrator file is 10000 x 10000 pixels at 300 dpi. I have tried it as 150 dpi and all of the export settings and always get the error message.   18. Align Object Buttons missing from Touch Bar

    I have a 2016 Macbook pro with a Touch Bar and with this last update of illustrator the align buttons aren't showing up on the Touch Bar when I click on the align icon. "Align to" is showing up but none of the actual align buttons. I used these buttons all of the time and it really speeds up my workflow.

  19. AI files opening as old versions

    Illustrator is intermittently not properly saving my files and is opening old versions of the AI file.

    This is my workflow:

    Create design and save AI file. Save PDF file and send to client. Receive amends, open AI file and amend + save. Save PDF file and send to client.

    Repeat until the design is approved.

    At this point I open the AI file and prepare the print files for production.

    However, the AI file is opening as an older version and does not have the latest amends saved. This is costing us £100s in incorrectly manufactured items.

  20. Quick Preview on Mac is not Working

    On Mac with the new Big Sur update, my Illustrator files show up as just the Illustrator logo and it does not preview any artboards.

    Also, when pressing the spacebar, a wheel starts turning, then just the logo pops up. There is no file preview it seems after the Big Sur update.
