All options within Window > Type are greyed out when 'Enable Wacom' option is enabled
Running Illustrator 2026 (version 30.0) on a M4 Pro Mac Mini. Access to all Type options are greyed out (accessed via Window > Type). I noticed that, in the preferences, under Devices, there was an 'Enable Wacom' option, which was checked. (I don't have a Wacom tablet, though I do have an XP-Pen drawing display, though it was not plugged in, and all drivers and extensions were disabled, and I've only used it with Illustrator 2025.) However, I unchecked the option, restarted Illustrator, and all text options were available again.

Cannot Resize Anything, version 30.0, went back a few updates hoping it was a bug of the new version but it's still the same.
Please fix this resizing problem I can't work.
2 votesIt happens when one accidentally disables Bounding Box with Cmd+Shift+B hotkey. You can try to toggle it back with the same shortcut or via View > Show Bounding Box.

Illustrator 2026 (30.0) saved files contain a large amount of blank space.
OS: windows 21H2
Adobe Illustrator 2026 (30.0) (desktop)In Adobe Illustrator 2026 (version 30.0), files saved with default settings are significantly larger than those from the previous version. Before saving, the action “Delete Unused Panel Items” is executed to remove all unnecessary elements (the Save Options panel as Figure 1).
A comparison of file sizes with version 29 (with identical content, Figure 2) confirms this increase. When the file is opened as a text document (Figure 3), it reveals a substantial amount of whitespace.2 votes -

Once you start typing a font name in the Font Browser the scroll wheel stops working
Once you start typing a font name in the Font Browser the scroll wheel stops working.
Several of the other menus don't scroll either. For example, the units dropdown in the create new document window.Arrow keys still work.

Missing fonts with asterisk still appear in Illustrator font menu — even after cache cleanup
Illustrator keeps showing missing fonts with an asterisk (*) in the font menu, even when those fonts are no longer installed or active.
This happens even in new blank documents and after multiple attempts to clean caches and reset preferences.
It makes the font list cluttered and hard to navigate, especially for users who work with many typefaces.
Please consider adding an option to hide missing fonts from the font menu, or improve the way Illustrator handles font references and cache rebuilding.
This issue has been affecting productivity and font management for a long time.

Phantom objects in Finder Preview and when imported into Photoshop
I'm on MacOS. When previewing an .ai file in Finder, there will often times be phantom objects visible in Finder Preview. These objects are always duplicates of whatever is actually visible on the artboard-- usually it's a phantom object in the position the object was in the last time I saved the file. When I open the .ai file in Illustrator, those objects do not exist. The objects are not hidden; they are not on some other layer. This is particularly problematic because those phantom objects are still there if I open the .ai file in Photoshop. If I add the .ai file as a Smart Object layer in my Photoshop file, the phantom objects are there. If I attempt to edit that Smart Object, Illustrator opens up and shows the phantom objects are not there. Saving and closing DOES NOT FIX IT. Sometimes toggling the visibility of the Illustrator layer the objects are on and then saving fixes it. Sometimes toggling to outline mode fixes it. Sometimes moving the .ai from one folder to another, brings the phantom objects back. Why is this happening? How do I make it stop?

Live text converts to outlines when copying and pasting within Illustrator
When copying artwork that contains live (editable) text and pasting it within the same document, or between Illustrator documents, the text objects intermittently convert to outlines (rendering them non-editable). This occurs with both area type and point type.
This is happening with brand new files (not old ones). Dragging from one Illustrator document to another (correctly) brings in editable text, but I've ensured no third-party clipboard managers are enabled.

画像配置の際のフォルダ When placing or relinking images, Illustrator no longer remembers the folder location
When placing or relinking images, Illustrator no longer remembers the folder location — even for multiple links that use the same image.
It would be very helpful if Illustrator could once again remember the previously used folder, as it did before.
This current behavior is extremely inconvenient and has a serious impact on workflow efficiency.2 votes -
Generate Image says the the prompt is against guidelines
So I asked the system to generate an image. Oddly it’s against guidelines, but getting absolutely no problem in Adobe Stock. Why??

Use Artboards option disabled when exporting as PDF – even in new multi-artboard documents
Description:
In the current Illustrator version, the ‘Use Artboards’ checkbox in File ▸ Export ▸ Export As... ▸ PDF is greyed out and cannot be selected.
This happens even in a new document with multiple artboards (e.g. 3 pages with simple shapes).Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new document with 3 artboards
2. Add simple objects on each artboard
3. Go to File ▸ Export ▸ Export As… ▸ Select PDF
4. → “Use Artboards” option is greyed outExpected result:
“Use Artboards” should be selectable so that Illustrator exports each artboard as a separate PDF file.Actual result:
Option remains disabled; Illustrator exports a single combined PDF instead.Environment:
- Illustrator version [29.8.2, e.g. 28.0.1 Windows 11]
- Tested with and without PDF-compatible AI saving
- No linked or embedded content involvedImpact (Urgency):
This issue prevents multi-page export workflows, critical in professional environments (e.g. signage, print production, packaging).
It requires manual scripting or third-party tools to achieve basic multi-page PDF export, which significantly slows production and increases error risk. Please confirm if this is a known issue and if a fix is planned.
Thank you - this is a critical production blocker for multi-artboard workflows.

Alt & drag to copy not working.
I only read one post about this problem with a GIF example. I'm working on Windows desktop, every time I try to alt + drag to copy something, at first it creates a copy, but when I release the mouse or keys (tested many combinations), it ends up only moving that object to that place instead of creating a copy. It's really frustrating because it's making my job difficult.

Created Dimensions change their snapping positions
I wanted to use the Dimension tool but I’m afraid it really needs some work and can only be used when your drawing is finished.
Here is a quite of bug that happened: I was adding another space and other dimensions. Apparently it changed my previous one with a certain angle (I didn't rotate anything though).
I did realize at that time and can't even go back to when it was good.2 votes -
Text is not working
My textboxes are empty including those that use to have text in it. I can create or select and edit them but when I type something in, nothing appears. If I try to select a text layer thats connected to a group, it randomly changes to selecting the parent/group.

Releasing Shift when resizing an area type with Alt+Shift (but still holding Alt) makes the text jump
Take a look at the GIF attached.
Here are the steps:
1. Create an area type, enable bounding box, click and drag a corner marker with Selection tool
2. Hold Alt + Shift to proportionally resize the area from its center
3. Change your mind!
4. Release Shift while still holding Alt and the mouse key — while still moving the cursorSome splitting happens — the frame of the bounding box follows the cursor, but the rendered frame with the text stays in the previous registered location.
The faster you move the mouse — the larger is the gap.

GPU rendering & mouse with indents (stepping) scroll wheel = blurry graphics
When scrolling with a scroll wheel that has indents, the GPU rendering causes blurry graphics at the beginning of the newly rendered pars that come into the workspace. See attachment.
It takes half a second to render that portion of the screen in normal quality on a Mac Studio Max! This machine should render fast enough to see no blurry parts. (120fps games as an example!)
I suspect Ai 29.8.2 to have a render engine problem. It’s just too slow. Other apps like Figma, Affinity Designer render the same documents 100x faster.2 votes -
Errors were detected but could not be corrected automatically. Please send the file to Adobe for further analysis.
I have already tried to reset illustrator preferences, removed all unused brushed and patterns.
