Can't move the Recolor Panel on a small screen
My screen resolution is 1366 x 768, I am facing this problem since I started using this laptop (HP EliteBook 850 G3): everything in Illustrator is working fine, but I am not able to move Recolor Panel, because the top section of recolor panel is hidden under the ruler, I have to hide the ruler and how somehow hardly I can move the panel.

Illustrator's Extended Artboard scaling PDFs down 10% (normal), but ALSO changing resolution of placed raster images. (not normal)
I work with people providing oversized graphics for convention displays. The new extended artboard is welcome, and people are using it, and when they export to PDF for print, the giant dimensions gets scaled down to 10% so it's compatible with older PDF versions. And then the printer can just scale 1000% to make the layout its normal size. While this is awkward, it's fine and can work.
But what I discovered today is that scaling down to 10% changes the resolution of placed raster images. So, when that file gets scaled up 1000% any placed images are a lower resolution than the original.
In this screenshot, the left image is an extended artboard layout PDF opened directly in Illustrator, it shows up at it's intended size. The image on the right is the EXACT same file placed/linked/embedded right next to itself. It places at the 10% size and then I scale it 1000% to match the correct size. The problem is that the photo of the wall in the layout is lower resolution in the scaled image. And if I were to zoom in, there isn't any pixelation in the left image, but there is noticeable pixelation in the right image.
This can't happen, it can ***** up a lot of prints where the original file is designed and saved sharp and high-res, but the print is pixelated. Scaling down art is a sad workaround to make things backward compatible, but if it has to be that way, then resolution/dimensions need to be scaled proportionally so that nothing changes when things are scaled back up. In my screenshots, the info window should be exactly the same between both of the layouts since they are the exact same file.
Unless I'm missing something or doing something wrong on my end, but to me, if I place an automatically scaled-down PDF, and scale it back up to its original size, everything should match exactly to the original.

Paragraph Styles: Where has Paragaph Direction for Middle Eastern Version gone? (AI ME 2024)

Problem is on Paragraph Style:
While under General on the left column I can see under "Indents and Spacing" that my Paragraph Direction is set to "Right to Left", I can't find this definition where is should be, on the left column under "Indents and Spacing". It is missing.Paragraph Direction should appear under "Indents and Spacing" on the Paragraph Style options.

.svg QR code generated with Adobe Express does not open properly
When I generate .svg QR codes in Adobe Express, I cannot open them properly in Illustrator. An error message appears. There is a way to manually correct it, but well, it would be useful to save this hassle.

All symbol instances reset after in-place editing the master instance
Ai 2023 (27.7 it says in the info), MacBook Pro, MacOS Ventura (13.3.1 (a)). When I enter an in-place symbol editing mode, and, still in that mode, enter another in-place editing mode (so there are two nested symbol editing modes), and, delete some path in the nested symbol, all instances of that symbol get reset, and work (in our case a lot of work) is lost.
When I first exit the initial symbol editing mode, and then enter the symbol editing mode for the other symbol (thus avoiding the nesting of editing modes), the instances don't reset.
I didn't notice the instances got reset for a rather long time and had to manually fix things using a backup copy I luckily kept, but this is a really dangerous bug.Ai 2023 (27.7 it says in the info), MacBook Pro, MacOS Ventura (13.3.1 (a)). Cannot select multiple files from creative cloud to place
ctrl or shift key cannot be used to select multiple files from creative cloud to place. However, I can select and place multiple files from my computer.

Classic 3D transformations not working
Classic 3D Transforms are working but acting weird. I created a square and tried to do a classic 3D Isometric Top Transform and it kind of worked, but it was as though it was missing a big triangle out of the front corner. I expanded the object thinking that perhaps it was a display issue and even the expanded version has the missing piece.

Les textes curvilignes créés à partir de cercles et stockés dans une couche de texte disparaissent lors de l'export en pdf. Ils sont toujours présents dans l'arborescence des couches qui elles-mêmes sont en statut « visibles » mais les textes en question ne sont plus visibles dans la vue en plan.
Le texte réapparaît lorsque l'on clique sur l'emplacement du texte curviligne pour l'éditer, le texte se rafraichit et réapparaît.

Wacom Driver Error
There is a Wacom Driver error every time we open Illustrator, but there has never been a Wacom device on this new PC, and it is not enabled in Devices, It happens every time it is loaded. Support have removed and re-installed but the error persists.

outline stroke error on live paint group
If you try to outline stroke in a live paint group, Illustrator throws an error (The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error [PARM])

Illustrator Window hopping around constantly - unusable
A lot of times when I use any illustrator function, like switching to layers, switching panes, or choosing any tool - the window just jumps away.
What the heck is that? It makes it unusable because my window just jumps around on the screen?

Inserting a dash followed by a space makes the dash uneditable
When using the type tool, inserting a dash, spacebar, and then typing makes the dash undeletable. So type: - ohio with Myriad Pro Regular 12pt. the — is not able to be backspaced to remove, it is almost like it is adding a tab spacing. If you create outlines of text then you can select and remove, but text is uneditable at that point.

Linked ai file being cut off
a Flattened tiff is opened and then saved in illustrator with a mask as ai. It is placed in another ai. file and when that happens part of the image is cut off, and its not part of the mask. I tried making sure there was only one layer in photoshop and in illustrator, resaved it different ways and still comes out the same. seems to follow a few particular files and sometimes appears all black or part of it black or just cut off. the files are no different than the ones that do work.

Transparency grid turns off when panning or zooming
Transparency grid is not active when panning or zooming in a document creating constant flickering when moving around in a document.

Zniknął pasek narzędziowy. Z Illustratora BETA i z wersji stabilnej. Dopiero po przeinstalowaniu Illustatora w wersji stabilnej pasek narzędziowy powrócił w wersji stabilnej. W BETA nadal brak paska.

Envelope Distort, Layers, and Illustrator Performance Bug
I've recently come across a bug with the envelope distortion tool. The bug happens when I use the Make with Warp effect on text. When this is applied, all the layers and sub-layers get frozen with no ability to see the thumbnail preview or to open or close any of the layers. This also affects the ability to hide or preview any layer, lock or unlock, and/or select anything in the layers.
This also causes Illustrator to run very high ram while causing unresponsiveness and difficulty in processing and sometimes the inability to save files.So far, the work-a-rounds that I have found are to either expand the appearance of the effect or to go into the effect and change the font, either to a new one or re-select the original font.
There seems to be a bug with a font selected and the envelope distortion effect that causes the layers and the program to glitch, brick, and become immensely slow at processing.
I'm attaching a file that has this error saved in it.

Livetracing Bitmaps gives results with random shades of black
Up until recently, if I used the Livetrace and Expand command on a bitmap it would produce results with only pure white and pure black, as you would expect. Now it randomly assigns values to every piece of what should be black. Instead of 100% black they are 99.29% or 99.67%. Normally I would select one piece, select all by color and move it. Now I need to click on every single piece and apply black to them. Very tedious.
2 votesKeith, the team reverted the Image Trace panel back to the more stable version. If you use 27.7 version, you can try to update to Beta, or revert to the older version, or wait until the Beta version will go stable.
