  1. Decimal points added to values - Precision issues

    I am operating on Windows 10 and just updated to Ilustrator 24.3.

    I am having all kinds of massive issues with precision when working in files created between Illustrator 24.1 and the most recent update at 24.3. When I create text and set the point size, I'll come back later to find that it is "48.002 pts" and that the horizontal scale is at "99.9987%" and it is no longer aligned at x: 1 in., y: 1 in., but has moved to "x: 1.005 in" and "y: .9998 in."   2. Stability update made Illustrator very unstable

    I noticed the 27/07/2020 update described itself as addressing stability issues, which I didn't have. Since the update ran, 3 hours ago, I've had three crashes - all when copying text and graphics together. My crash report crashed too.

  3. Operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT] - Crashes and will not open application

    Illustrator 24.2 and 24.2.1
    Windows 10 Home

    I've been getting the following error since version 24.2 but was still able to open and do work. 

       The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [CANT]

    Yesterday I chose to update to 2.2.1 thinking it might fix that error. Now I cannot open Illustrator at all. I am not an IT person, but I have already tried the following to fix it but to no avail:

    -Restarting my machine multiple times.
    -Uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator with options
    -Uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator with remove options
    -Going back to an earlier version
    -Allowing…

  4. New update, stroke profile bug

    Just got the latest update and now my Width profile 3 on stroke settings is adding these little rounded bumps to the corners that were (prior to update) sharp. The end points are also slightly curved. Right side does not have bumps but has same curve when points on this profile used to be sharp. All of my settings and prefs have stayed the same. I use this stroke profile alot so I noticed this issue right away. Please fix. Photo attached.

  5. Please Select a Key in Current Document

    When I attempt to align an object to a key object, I get an error stating Please select a Key in Current Document.

    I only have one file open containing one artboard.

    I've attempted to move the object I want aligned inside the artboard area as well and still get the same error.

  6. Current bugs that are making it nearly impossible to get work done

    As I type this, I'm reinstalling AI for the second time this month. This time without saved prefs. Please, Adobe, make this storied and remarkable piece of software STABLE before you talk about giving us new features. I don't want a new icon, I want not to have to explain to my boss that I didn't get anything done this morning because my industry-standard software didn't work.

  7. Navigator does not change view

    In V24.02(win10, 64bit) the Navigator panel does not change the View. Wherever you click in the Navigator, the view is just moving in diagonal direction slowly.

  8. magically appearing anchor points

    When I join paths, use the pathfinder tools, or shapebuilder options, anchors that I DID NOT create, appear. There is no rhyme or reason to when it will decide to do it. So annoying. Over time this degrades the image when enlarging, shrinking, offsetting paths and a number of other features I don't want to waste my time listing. I don't care what you say about vectors and your program, I've been doing this a long time, it happens. I personally deal with vinyl plotters. Plotters don't like unnecessary or extra anchor points. It can slow down the cut process…

  9. Ghost element sneaks in my groups

    Hi!!

    I encounter a bug in Illustrator. You will find the description below but also a video that explains a lot better what I am trying to say.
    1) OS: Windows
    Version: 10.0
    System Architecture: x64
    Illustrator version: 24.1.2

    2) When I just try to select a group from the active window.
    3) I expect to only select element from this group
    4) Somehow there is a ghost element that I can see alone when I unselect my group. This ghost stays there and mess up my resizing then..

  10. SVG export with text – line breaks forcing text to convert to outlines

    I've been working on a project that requires SVG files with embedded text and have discovered what seems to be a bug.

    It seemed arbitrary at first, that some text objects would be converted to outlines while others would remain as text. I finally figured out that forced line breaks were the culprit, as illustrated in the screenshots I've attached. The problem is the same whether you use point type or area type objects.

    I'm currently running the latest version of Illustrator (24.1.2) on macOS High Sierra (10.13.6).

  11. Tracing large image gives worse results than with tracing a small portion of the same image

    When trying to trace a fairly large file with sparse graphics - the trace function appears to lower the resolution significantly, resulting in a junk trace. If I clip a small portion of graphics and trace that, it works fine. Shrinking the file before tracing didn't work (by half), I couldn't shrink any more without losing the fine grained art. I was able to make this work using a different product(which I really don't like). I use trace all the time, usually on smaller logos, which works fine. I suspect there is something in their algorithm that reduces the resolution…

  12. new project presets not appearing

    I am starting a course to learn Adobe Illustrator. However, when I click on "create new" the dialogue box that opens only populates with Adobe Stock templates. No matter if I click print, web, or mobile there are no presets or options for me to change the project settings. Kind of hard to begin the course if I can't create a project with the specific setting for my assignments.

  14. Can't move text along path - vertical line handles missing

    The vertical lines that usually show up when pushing text along the path is missing. Even when using Direct Selection Tool, there are no handles to control the direction and placement of text along a path which is very frustrating.

  15. A semicircle shape gets exported as a circle in SVG

    When I create a shape that is between a circle and a square, it is rendered as a circle in an SVG export, while a PNG export (via save for web) makes a good shape.

  16. Cannot select or move a stroke with the direct selection tool

    I created a square. I tried to select one edge of the square to alter the shape. The direct selection tool would not select the stroke. It was a 1 point stroke. No matter which mode I used (outline or preview) it would not select the stroke.

    I expect the direct selection tool to be able to select a stroke so that I can move it. This is not happening. Well, it does happen, eventually, but only after about 30 attempts. It should only take one attempt. And, no, changing the the selection tolerance does not help, and "object selection…

  17. Selections are automatically deselected after a few seconds

    Lately, Illustrator will deselect anything I select with either the selection or direct selection tool (doesn't matter which one) and it makes for a very frustrating experience. Anyone have an idea to fix?

    I am running Dell (windows) latest AI version
    Core i9 2.9 ghz
    32GB RAM
    Windows 10 Enterprise ("1903)
    have a eGPU hooked up external 4k monitor with Radeon card.

  18. Pen pressure doesn't work on side car

    I'm using macOS 10.15.3 and 12.9inch 2rd gen iPad Pro.

    Apple Pencil Pen pressure doesn't recognized by Illustrator while sidecaring but works fine on Photoshop. please resolve asap, I need my blob brush.
    Also, let me use [] to size the distortion brushes would be great, to right click and adjust brush size is kinda ********. Also add pen pressure support please.

  19. Enter Key Exports First Artboard By Default

    After selecting an artboard range to export, hitting the enter key as a method to export the artboard range results in the first artboard being exported, not the range selected.

  20. Save As... (PDF) not recorded in Action

    After upgrading to 24.1 and macOS Catalina "Save As..." isn't recorded anymore in an Action.

    I used to have an Action which saves any layout as a PDF, always stored the PDF with the same name in a fixed location and closed the file. Now this doesn't work anymore.

    I can "Insert Menu Option" Save As but then I have to enter a name and choose a file format.

    Such a shame!
